Trying to figure out how to use the Microsoft Speech API to write speech to a WAV file.
I have tried and tried to do this. I have downloaded the LabVIEW example for doing speech through the sound card and tried to modify it to write to a stream, but can not hook the correct objects together to get something that will work. Anyone have any ideas?

Hi ghost ninja: The "other" section on your iPod Touch is most likely your operating system. Probably not a good idea to get rid of it.

I have recently had to fire my web designer who was using iWeb. Now I'm trying to figure out how to get the site to open in iWeb on my new MacBook Pro. Is there a way?
Firstly iWeb CAN'T IMPORT any kind of published html code as it has no import facility. You can however add html code, javascript and css by selecting the html snippet and placing it on your page the entering the code in here and clicking on Apply. You DO NOT create a shape as you say - you use the html snippet and place your code in there.
There are not really a lot of ways in which you can write code - if you want to enter small amounts of code, then you would use an ordinary text editor to do this such as Text Edit on a Mac or Text Wrangler. If you want to add code to iWeb like this, then you would either use the html snippet method in iWeb itself or you would have to publish the site to a local folder from iWeb and open the relevant html page with a text editor and add the additional code in this way and then publish. However, if he decided to add the code with a text editor, then you would have to upload the pages directly to the server using an ftp client - if you try to upload the site directly from iWeb, all the extra code will be overwritten.
As for checking whether the site was created using iWeb, all you need do is view the site in Safari and then click on View and then select View Source Code and it will tell you.
Even thoough extra code was added to the site and he might well have done this by publishing to a local folder and adding the code with a text editor, he should still have the domain file for the site too.
Ask again. I'm sure that for adding quick code, most would not want to use programmes such as Dreamweaver, but a simple text editor will suffice. As OT already said, if he claims that he does not have the domain.sites file, then try Flux 4 which is a web design programme and has full import facilities. At least this way, if he just gives you the published version of the site, you have some way of opening it.
You can download a free trial of Flux 4 and you can also purchase the full version from the Mac App Store if you decide you like it. -

Currently I'm doing an image sequence inside of a movie, and putting the movie in the button. I hope that's what you're asking. Not sure if I entirely understand your question. (Been a little while since I used the interactive side of Flash)

Trying to figure out how to change the tuning of certain notes so I can play notes in between pitches for example the middle note between B & C or E & F. I can use different tracks if needed but I would prefer to know how to do it for individual notes as well. They have to be exactly in the middle so it's not out of tune.

The theme to Doctor Who is in 12/8. In music theory, there's no such thing as a 12th note, the notation and nomenclature is all based on things being divisible by four. So for the diddly-dum feel to happen, you have to give the beat to a quarter note plus another eighth note -- we call it a dotted quarter note, and now you have three eighth notes per beat so you can go diddly. So, since you can't call the time signature 12/dotted quarter, you call it 12/8 and go faster. Make sense? Anyway, for GB's purposes, all you need to know is that you'll get that feel by choosing 12/8. -

Please help, I can't figure out how to use the cable modem...
I'm visiting my sister in Baltimore, Maryland for about 3 weeks, and I want to set up the internet on my macbook so i don't have to keep using her powerbook g4. She has a Motorola Comcast Cable Modem set up for her powerbook, but I can't figure out how to find the info about her connection so I can copy it down into my computer. I keep going to her system preferences section and clicking the network button, but none of the various internet connections shown are actually the one she uses to connect. Please tell me where I can find her cable provider's info in her powerbook and where, in my macbook, i can enter this information and get on the internet.
p.s. i don't know if this is necessary info, but with the motorola cable modem came an installation disk for if you wanted to use the usb drive cord instead, but that disk isn't even read properly in my macbook. like, it lets me open up the disk and see all the files on it but it doesn't automatically start up an installation wizard so i really have no way of installing the items on the disk.well, i can't really tell if i am only allowed one connection with this isp. basically, whenever i plug in the ethernet cord, all of the information gets filled in in the ethernet section of the network, except for the router info. there is router info filled in on my sister's computer whenever i plug the cord into her computer, though. does that mean i can't also use the modem for my computer? sorry, this is both my first time using a mac and my first time using anything other than dial-up, so i'm pretty lost. thanks for the info you've given me thus far.

We Purchased Lion OS in April and uploaded to our iMac. We are now ready to upgrade our MacPro, but can't seem to find out how to upgrade using the previous purchase (said we could use the Lion OS purchase on up to 3 devices). We have the receipt of purchase with the Order # and Purchase #, but I just can't figure out how to do the upgrade. Where do I go? What reference # do I enter?
Go back to the App Store with the same Apple ID you used to purchase Lion. It should show up in your Purchases list ready to download. If it doesn't, log out, log back in, and hold down Option key while clicking on Purchases.
A tip: Once the download is finished, dismiss the Installer. Go to your Applications folder and find it - copy it to another folder or hard drive to keep for emergency purposes. Then click on that installer and install (it is automatically removed/deleted after the installation is complete). That way you can avoid having to do another lengthy download.
And, yes, just to confirm: you can install Lion on as many Macs you own and control. However, the license is not transferable; if you ever sell the machine, you need to erase Lion and reinstall the original OS.
You don't go to iTunes - go to the Mac App Store (in your Applications folder). You do need 10.6.6 (or 10.6.8) to have the Mac app store. -
Does anyone have advice about how to move my photos from my android phone to my Macbook Air? The phone is no longer in service (I traded to an iphone) and I can't locate my cable--which may not have helped, anyway. I tried inserting my micro memory card into a USB reader, and the computer will not acknowledge any photos from the card. Thoughts?
I think you will find the cable to be very necessary.
For some phones - samsung for example, you may need to down load their manager program (I think samsung's is called Kies or keis) A bit like how one uses itunes to connect to a iphone.
Once you have the cable and are connected, you should see a file system and look for the DCIM directory. -

You provided no information about your computer, your operating system, network, errors, or Windows version. But I'll take some guesses.
What did you try? What happens when you try? Any error messages? Did you download and install the Windows Support Software, or install it from your Snow Leopard Install Disk if you are using Snow Leopard? Did you look in the Windows Help menu to see how to set up wifi in Windows?
