tryng to find a song called voo do ray but dont know who its by and whether I have spelt the title correctly
Are you referring to "Voodoo Ray" by A GUY CALLED GERALD?
I found that with a couple of seconds of searching in Google. Might give it a try next time.
It's not available in either the UK nor the US iTMS, by the way.

Going nuts....trying to find a song on itunes
I dont know how often anyone has run into this but for me its a first.
I am trying to find the 2004 self titled Probot album with the hidden track called "I am the warlock".
Its a side project (even tried searching the "side projects" section) band of Dave Grohl and it had some of the biggest names in metal all together. So its not like its some obscure metal band from norway.
If anyone can point me in the right direction to locate this, it would be greatly appreciated.Didnt mean to cause any confusion with the "norway" referense. I was kind of being sarchastic with the "norway" thing. The band was put together by Dave Grohl(sp) who was the drummer for Nirvana and had Lemmy from Motorhead and people from Corrosion of conformity, DRI, King Diamond etc. VERY big names in the metal industry. Supprising that I cant find it on iTunes. Maybe since there were so many people involved there could be an agreement on letting a license out or something. Who knows. Depressing though, its a good album for metal heads.

Searching for Content
If you know what you're looking for, you can type a search term in the Search Store field, which appears in the upper-right corner of iTunes. Press Enter or Return to search.
You will see the results for your search. You can filter your search results by TV Shows, Albums, Songs, iPhone Apps, iPad Apps, Movies, Books, Audiobooks, Music Videos, Podcasts, and iTunes U content.
I just tested the search and it worked here.

What can I try if the store's Advanced Search strikes out trying to find the song I want?
Perhaps the song is not available in MP3 format, or isn't available in the iTunes Store, or simply not available in your country. (A Norwegian band's first album from the 1980s became available in MP3 format only in April 2012; an example that not everything is automatically is available in MP3 as soon as possible.)
... and before any wag says, or even thinks "it", yes - the Norwegian band's album is very good! (Still waiting for their second album, from 1982, though!)
You may be surprised at how often a song or album is not available because of "contractual problems" - in other words, someone's being greedy, difficult, or both. (Another album I like, from a UK band of the 70's, was unavailable for a long time because - and I'm quoting the band's leader - "the copyright owner wanted too much money for the album to be on CD.")
You could try looking for the song in other stores. If it's not yet available anyhwere, you'll just have to be patient. You could try contacting the band via any websites they have, and asking them about it's availability. What's the song? Perhaps I (or soemoen else) might be able to confirm it's availability on MP3 from another source. -
How? I don't understand why I am having so much difficulty not only trying to find the songs that I purchased through itunes but the music I already had that is only stored on my iphone at the moment. I had to re-install my computer so I lost everything that was on it. WHY??? Is this so difficult to figure out??? My iphone plays the songs, I want them on my samsung s4. How do i do it?

You sync them to your iphone as you did before.
Open itunes, plug in iphone, select what you want to sync and sync.

Hopefully you left Apple your contact info (name phone #, email address).
Apple would simply pass your contact to the last registered owner. It would be up to the owner to contact you. As Dave mentioned, Apple will not give you any info (except may to tell you it was or was not registered, but not to who). Turn it on once in a while and maybe they have activated FindMyiPad and a message will pop up (don't need to be logged onto the iPad to a message). -

i was trying to put my songs from my ipod on another computer but when i did it took my songs off my ipod and put my girlfriend songs on my ipod. How do I fine my songs to put back on my ipod
if you don't have them on a computer file somewhere then they are gone, no retrieving using the ipod

I paid for and tried to download a song from itunes but the song won't dowload! When I got to store and click on available downloads it looks like it's downloading but I keep getting a message that the file is corrupt.
I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not downloading properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the entry, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.
(Not entirely sure what happens after you click that link, but fingers crossed it should be relatively straightforward.) -
I'm trying to find an easy way to import my MP3 collection into iTunes without moving, copying or changing it.
I can't believe that iTunes doesn't have this feature, as even the most basic music players always have this.
I only use iTunes to sync my iPod, as I like Media Monkey to play my MP3s.
I have 137GB of MP3s, mainly from my ripping my CDs, LPs and downloading from Amazon. I've only purchased a handful of songs from iTunes,

Okay, no problem.
If the top bar menu is not displayed in top left of your iTunes Library, use the CTRL+B keys to turn it on:
On that menu, use File/Add Folder to Library and navigate to the folder you wish to add:
If you wish to add just one song, notice the File/Add File to Library command on that menu as well.
Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop from the file's location into your iTunes Library.
That's all there is to it.
By the way, it is possible to have Amazon MP3s downloaded to your computer and then automatically added to the iTunes Library by the Amazon downloader. I do it all the time.

How to find a song quickly in ncmpcpp

I've been trying to figure it out if it is possible to find a song in the playlist by artist and title or any other tag. Something similar to how Sonata filters the playlist.
If I search for 'one' I get hundreds of results even tough I only want the U2 song. I know I can search by tags in Search engine but I prefer searching in the playlist. So the only "solution" I found is to first filter the playlist for 'u2' and then do the Find forward for 'one'. But it seems there has to be a better way to do this. Using regular expressions with / would be great but I haven't found any examples on how to use them properly in ncmpcpp.
Is there a way to search by multiple tags with Find forward/backward?
I can see there are a lot of people on the forum using mpd and ncmpcpp and I'm wondering how do you search quickly for a song that has one fairly common word for the title?
ThanksSo I spent some more time trying to solve this issue and I think I figured it out.
Even though I've set regular expressions to extended, I still had trouble finding the proper entries starting with 'one'.
^one.*u2 didn't return anything, at least until I've tried it in playlists column mode.
This is my playlist formating for column and classic mode:
song_columns_list_format = "(40)[white]{t} (30)[green]{a} (10)[green]{l}"
song_list_format = "{$8%t$9}|{$8%f$9} $R{$3[%a]$9}|{$3%D$9} {$3%l$9}"
It turns out that color definition in classic mode are part of the input string but in column mode they are not.
^..one.*u2 finds exactly the song I was looking for.
In the end nothing fancy, but this little thing was bugging me for a long time now and I just wanted to make an end to it all.
... now the only thing left missing is a 'Jump to' widget for awesomewm -
i subscribed for itunes imatch - it works perfectly on my i-pad and iPhone - however on my macbook - my iTunes can no longer find my songs - i don't know how to make it look to the cloud to play my music - i think it keeps trying to find on the external harddrive where i used to keep my music
Of course iTunes is looking for the music on the external HDD. Enabling iTunes Match does not magically change the location of the iTunes library to the cloud.
To play the music either plug the external HDD back into your computer or create a new, empty library to use for streaming the iTM content. The latter can be accomplished by holding down the Option key when launching iTunes, choosing "create library" then enabling iTunes Match on the new library. DO NOT have iTunes scan your HDD for music.
