Trying to find copyright and trademark symbols

OK, so I know where to find the shortcuts to text symbols in windows, but where on a Mac is the chart for making "not normal" text symbols; (example): trademark, copyright, degrees, diameter, (more or less how do I find the character map file)

Pages has a unique way of dealing with some of these symbols:
1. Open a Pages document.
2. In the Pages menu select 'preferences'
3. Click on the auto correct tab and check the box 'symbol and text substitution'
4. Check or uncheck the items you wish Pages to autocorrect or not. For example, typing (c) will result in ©. You can even add your own shortcuts.
One beautiful, I can't live without it, donationware is Textpander. With this app you can make hard to type sequences into short easy to remember phrases and this works in every app on your machine. For example you could type the word copyright and Textpander will change it to ©.

If you forgot (or don't know) your passcode, restore the device from backup on the last computer it was synced with when the passcode was turned on... this will remove the passcode. If you do not have access to the last computer it was synced with, or you don't have a backup, you will have to force it into recovery mode & restore as a new device.

Trying to find model and serial

I know am probably beating a dead horse, but just hoping this is faster than reading thru thousands of posts, My motherin-law gave me her old laptop and the stickers on the bottom are worn off and I want to update drivers but I need to know what model and serial number this Toshiba Satellite is, can anyone help?
I have Belarc advisor and Sysinfo for windows if that helps

Belarc Advisor should give you the model, serial number and most of the info on the installed software (keys, etc.).

Trying to find pictures and texts

I have texted and taken lots of pictures on my phone before registering it on itunes. I plugged in tonight and restored from my backup (iphone 3 broke 1 month ago) just as the att tech suggested. Very disappointed to see I have lost all pics I have taken on the iphone4 since purchase. I am still plugged into my initial session on itunes. Any way to retrieve?

The very first thing you should do with a new iPhone that is replacing another iPhone is transfer the backup for the other iPhone to the new iPhone if you want the data included with the backup for the other iPhone transferred to the new iPhone. You shouldn't wait several days or especially a month to do this.
Texts and photos captured by the iPhone are included with the iPhone's backup. Transferring the backup for another iPhone to the new iPhone replaces texts and photos included with the backup for the other iPhone on the new iPhone.
Unless you imported the photos in the Camera Roll by your computer as is done with any other digital camera before selecting to transfer the backup for your previous iPhone to your new iPhone, the photos that were in the Camera Roll on your new iPhone are gone.

Using registered trademark symbol in xml to be viewed in flash

I am trying to add a registered trademark symbol in a XML
file to be viewed in flash. The codes '®' and
'®' will not work and display as nothing. The XML file
is encoded as UTF8, any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Unable to find "Language and Region" link

Hi,
I am trying to customize language and region settings via my MySite using the below link. I spent an hour yesterday trying to find "Language and Region" link in the Edit Profile page, however, I could not. Is there a feature I need to activate
to see this link or enable something in Central Admin?
I only see Basic Information, Contact Information, Details, and Newsfeed Settings.

According to your description, my understanding is that you can't see the "Language and Region" link in mysite Edit Profile Page.
I suggest you can check if you have checked "Show on the Edit Details Page" in the Central Administrator ->Manage Service Application->User Profile Service Application->Manage User Properties->Language and Regions->All
child properties under Language and Region.

I have light room 4 . I import edit and a day or 2 later they are missing.pls help me find them and

I have lightroom 4 . I import the images edit them and in a day or so the images are missing/offline. I'vge looked all over on my Mac trying to find them and have been unsuccessful. Please help me fid them and wht should I do to avoid this in the future? I have also tried to back these files on an extrenal drive and it is missing from theere also.

Changing the color of a registered trademark symbol in a logo and what is the the symbol's size?

I have a logo with the registered trademark symbol. I tried to change the color of the registered trademark symbol to the same color as the logo, using the color replacement tool but it did not work. Is there another way to change its color?
Also, I need to find out how big the registered trademark symbol is in comparison to the logo. (height, width, how far away from the logo the symbol is). How do I do this? Trying to use the Ruler tool was a disaster. As you've probably noticed, I'm very new to Photoshop.

Depending on what colors you are working with adding a layer above the logo with the "color" layer style may work for you. This really only works if the logo is on white and the TM isn't black or white.
For Example:
Before
Paint (on a new layer) the new color
Change the layer style of that new green layer to "color"
And voila!
If you're working with a black or white TM you may just have to mask it out and make a new one with the text tool, I'm not aware of another way to change it (though I'm not the photoshop guru some of these people are =D)

TradeMark Symbol and Registered Symbol are being replaced by question marks

I am using RTF template to generate report in PDF, otherwise "Trademark and Registered" symbols from the field data are being replace by "question marks".
Any suggestions please.

Actually, i am not able to find the font name for these kind of symbols (like trade mark or Registered) and also, i am fetching the data from database and them printing on PDF (like a standard process). This trademark symbol is in database.

I think there are third-party programs which will do that, but you can also do it with Automator:

The file or clipboard contents will be in Tab Separated vars, so you'll have to open with a spreadsheet program and save as Comma Separated Vars format.

Find My iPhone is good for misplaced iPhone but not good for thief and it was never meant to be.
You chance of getting it back is very small.
There are a few things you can try.
Try remote lock/wipe your iPhone through Find My iPhone.

Change all the passwords used in iPhone: Apple ID, E-mail, Bank Account ....

Oh my gosh I had the EXACT same problem, and for ages I couldn't figure out how to fix it until today. Here's what I did:
First I went onto my computer, opened itunes, and un-installed tumblr, vine and kik. These were the apps I was having problems with (it said I had them on my phone but, like you, they didn't show).
Then I went to the itunes store, searched for each one, and it said I could update them so I did (just FYI: for tumblr a window popped up saying "please click ok to confirm you are 17 years or older", so I did that also)
When I went back to my phone and tried installing them again (still on my computer), it worked!

Sharing an Apple ID is never recommended for these reasons.
They can create their own: http://appleid.apple.com and you can add them at the addresses they use for their ID.
Sharing an Apple ID is not recommended because all of your data gets merged and when it gets deleted from one device, it deletes from them all, such as Contacts.

I'm trying to find an easier way to import my music to iTunes. Even the most basic music player can scan your computer and import found music into your library. I don't want to move my MP3s into the iTunes folder, I don't want iTunes doing any conversion.

I'm trying to find an easy way to import my MP3 collection into iTunes without moving, copying or changing it.
I can't believe that iTunes doesn't have this feature, as even the most basic music players always have this.
I only use iTunes to sync my iPod, as I like Media Monkey to play my MP3s.
I have 137GB of MP3s, mainly from my ripping my CDs, LPs and downloading from Amazon. I've only purchased a handful of songs from iTunes,
Any ideas on how to do this easily?

Okay, no problem.
If the top bar menu is not displayed in top left of your iTunes Library, use the CTRL+B keys to turn it on:
On that menu, use File/Add Folder to Library and navigate to the folder you wish to add:
If you wish to add just one song, notice the File/Add File to Library command on that menu as well.
Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop from the file's location into your iTunes Library.
That's all there is to it.
By the way, it is possible to have Amazon MP3s downloaded to your computer and then automatically added to the iTunes Library by the Amazon downloader. I do it all the time.
