Trying to format and reinstall (lion download not working)

Recently finder completely stopped working so i decided the best option was to just reinstall OSX lion, I didnt recieve an install disk but noticed there was an option to reinstall on the start up disk menu.
I have erased all of my partitions and i am trying to download the lion installation to my ssd, it runs for about an hour and 30 mins then fails. I am relatively new to Macs and have inherited this one, so please excuse if my terminology is a bit sketchy.
Any suggestions?

Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
If clearing cookies doesn't work then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies is corrupted.
Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookies files like cookies.sqlite-journal in the Firefox profile folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

Click on the Apple symbol in the top left of the screen and select About this Mac. Click on More Info and scroll down to the USB entry under hardware. Does it list the 'Built in iSight' in the top right hand pane?

Try:

Since last update of Pages, my Pages app in iPad anda iPhone doesn't open, it closes suddenly. I already deleted it and reinstalled, but still not works.

This is my problem that has to originate from the update. So glad that I did not purchase a MacBook! Apple products/apps are appearing to be not different from Windows products.
I have deleted and reinstalled from the device and desktop, resets, etc. When I uninstalled and reinstalled while connected to my desktop, the older version of pages was installed. I was able to see all of my files that were saved to the cloud. I was forced to update again to access any of the saved files. Once updated again, I could no longer open pages. It began, to open and abruptly shut down.

Trying to erase and reinstall Lion without Apple ID

A while back I bought a MacBook Pro from a friend. It came with a Lion Installation Disk.
I've tried erasing the harddrive, and reinstalling Lion, but now im being prompted to enter the Apple ID that purchased Lion.
Since my friend bought the computer along with Lion using his Apple ID, how do I reset and install Lion without having to enter his Apple ID?
Any help is appreciated.

The important question is, did this machine come with lion preinstalled or was it purchased from the app store?
If it came preinstalled, your friend needs to call apple to transfer the license for the OS to you. If he purchased Lion, the license is not transferable and you will need the original install disks, wipe the drive, install the original OS, and then purchase Lion with your own Apple ID.
FWIW, Lion did not come on a disk.

I reformated my HD and reinstalled lion 10.7.1 and I am still unable to use the lion recovery assitstance app it's telling me no recovery partion?

I bought an external HDD to install the OS X Lion on it, then reformatted entire Macbook HDD, followed by restore image from external HDD to the Macbook build in HDD.

I have tried to delete and install a newer version of Itunes on my Windows XP computer. First of all I cannot delete Bonjour nor Itunes set up and I cannot install a newer version, which I have downloaded. Please help.

When I try to remove Bonjour the following message comes up: The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.
Then the following: The installation resource for this product is not available.
When I try to remove ITunes I get the same first message as for Bonjour and then the following: The path 'C:\Documents and Settings\Marianne Swan\Local Settings\Application Data\Apple\Apple Software Update\iTunes.msi' cannot be found. Verify that you have access to this location and try again, or try to find the installation package 'iTunes.msi in a folder from which you can install the product iTunes.
Another message I get is: an older version of Bonjour cannot be removed, get in touch with your technical person.
(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. I've been looking through the forum for hours and tried every variation of deleting the account, re-adding it, rebooting my iPad etc. I've tried everything! And I still can't receive emails.
My drafts, sent emails and junk emails are all there but my inbox is empty and it's refusing to download the messages.
When I refresh it, "downloading 1 of 250" pops up for a second and then disappears and it just says it's updated yet nothing is there.
Please can someone help. This is incredibly annoying!!!
My mail provider is Yahoo and my wifi is working fine.

Hello, I have a late 2012 27" iMac. Its a 3.2 GHz i5 processor. I originally upgraded my ram to 32 GB and was running like a champ for over a year. Then, it started to randomly turn off no matter what I was doing. I took it to the apple store and they said it was the ram. So I ordered 16 GB of ram from Crucial that matched what they said my computer would need. I got it in last week and installed it and it still turns off randomly. I have tried the PRAM and SMC resets and the computer will run like a champ for 15-20 mins then turns off. I would love any help, advice or possible solutions as I am by no means a computer wiz. Very true - and the tests they do at the store are far better than the AHT. As well, Apple does not tell you where it puts the RAM - they just tell you to add RAM in the empty slots, LOL. Your About this Mac > Memory should show your two modules next to one another (which, as I've decided to "name" them would be slots 1 and 3 as showing from the top as you are looking at it with all the slots facing you (the bottom being towards the bottom of the display). The odd thing (to me) is that the 'about this mac' window still shows the same arrangement even though the modules are now placed vertically. In mine (with two rows of two slots side by side), it shows the OEM RAM in the top and the additional RAM I added on the bottom (which is exactly how the slots are arranged):
And, one more thought - maybe way off - the late 2009/mid 2010/early 2011 iMacs had problems with adding a full complement of third party RAM (they were ok with all OEM or a lesser amount of third party RAM - that is why mine only has 12 GB rather than the supported 16 GB). There were several very lengthy threads about this; I will try to find one of them which I had bookmarked (I can't find my bookmarks in this new iteration here)...

I went through the same thing. Searched again for another error I was seeing and found this help from Delgadoh and this finally fixed me! He mentioned this article: iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows: Unable to install or open http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376. But I had not read it. I went straight to his instructions below.
If you haven't already tried these steps:
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order and then restart your computer.
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Important: Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended affects.
