Trying to get a Hawking wireless Internet camera to work

I tried hooking up the camera to my powerbook thru the Rj-45 cable and the powerbook is on the internet thru AEX. When i type in the address of 10.0.1.201 i get the apache website. I have used Safari 1.3,netscape and IE5.2. I used post of Heng-yee Yong and no luck.
Thank you for any advice

I assume you are referring to this discussion:
Heng-Yee Yong, "How to use Linksys Web-server camera with Airport?", 11:07am Jun 21, 2005 CDT
The IP address I recommended in that discussion is one that you must configure on the Hawking wireless camera, when the final intent is to have that camera wirelessly "join" the wireless network created by an Airport Base Station or Airport Express.
To actually configure this camera for the first time, you must follow the instructions provided by Hawking - and from the information you have provided it isn't clear you have done that. You can't just plug the camera into your Mac's ethernet port for the first time, start up a web browser, and type in 10.0.1.201 - that won't get you anywhere.

Make absolutely certain you load drivers ONLY from the manufacturer's web site.

Trying to get a WRT54GX2 wireless router working with a WPC54G wireless card. The laptop and desktop both will access the Internet and work when hardwired through the router's Ethernet ports. When trying to access wireless, the Laptop shows to be connected to the router and also to Internet, but Internet Explorer can not access any websites.  Suggestions? Thanks.

what ip address does the laptop get ?? ensure that the laptop is not set for a static ip add....and it gets an ip add from the router ..

  • LAN IP keeps changing on my wireless internet camera using Linksys E1200 router

Although it was working fine for about a month the LAN IP for my wireless internet camera now keeps changing almost on a daily basis for no apparent reason.   I am currently away from home and am unable to access the camera for live coverage until I determine and reset the IP.   Fortunately the camera is working and still sending emails on motion detection which includes a note with the IP which I then can use remotely access my local computer and then to the camera for live coverage but this is a time consuming method.    To be able to get access from my current location I then have to remotely log on to my home E1200 router and change the address in the port forwarding section of the routers setup program in order to use the new IP directly.
I know I could have avoided this problem by seting up the camera with a static IP but for some reason I had a problem doing so and due to time limitation I ended up accepting the dynamic IP assignment.
What could be causing the change and more importantly is there anything I can do to the router setup to minimize the problem?

There hasn't been a power failure at my house in over 3 weeks at least none that my UPS system has sensed but there have been many camera IP changes during that perioid .    Perhaps there has been some local power interuption to the camera or the router.   I wonder if a local power sag or surge might be sufficient for the camera to restart.   I guess further investigation will have to wait til I return and regardless of what I find I'll switch to a static IP for the futrue.

  • BBM and wireless Internet still not working. Help?

So ever since I updated my phone to the new 6.0 software version, my BBM and my wireless internet won't work. I've tried taking the battery out, restarting the phone, excetra, but nothing is working. I only got it about a month ago, so I'm extremly confused as to why it has stopped working. Can anyone help me?

Hi and Welcome to the Community!!
I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
    2) Delete and Resend Service Books
KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    3) Batt Pull Reboot
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support.
    Good luck!

  • Trying to get on the wireless with old G5

    Hi,
I have one of the first G5's and have been on the internet using a ethernet cable to my
    Airport Extreme.
I bought a new computer and like to put the old G5 in another place of the house.
Can anybody tell me how I can get on the wireless with this computer?
Can I use an Airport Express and plug it into the ethernet port or do I need more stuff?
    Thanks
    John

    Hi John,
Unless you can or wish to have an appropriate Apple wireless card installed, it ought to be possible to use the latest 802.11n (draft) AirPort Express as a wireless client the way that you have in mind (see the ProxySTA part of this article).
Otherwise, a dedicated wireless Ethernet bridge (such as Belkin F5D7330, D-Link DWL-G810, D-Link DWL-G820, Linksys WET54G, Linksys WGA600N or Netgear WGE111) could be an alternative. WPA security may or may not be supported (with or without a firmware update), so check the specifications.

  • Newbie help. How to get started with wireless internet?

    hello.
i am new to mac. im planning on switching by purchasing a MacBook Pro for my freshmen year in college.
i was just wondering if the MacBook Pro already has the equipment i need to have wireless Internet. what do i need to purchase along with my MacBook to have wireless Internet? i read about AirPorts but i don't understand it. i need to buy something separate to have wireless Internet?
also i am new to wireless Internet. i have dsl and my friends told me all i need to do is a wireless router. can someone shed some light on that area as well.
    thanks!

    Hello there:
When you go up to your Airport signal menu, located on your menu bar on the right side, it will list the available hotspots that are within wireless range. Some indeed are free. Select it, go to your browser and you are good to go. Some DO require subscription to access. Generally what happens with these is that you select the network, and then your browser will take you to a registraton page. You can then pick an access plan and pay with a credit card. The registration page will tell you what locations carry that plan. For example, there is one company that runs hot spots in all the major airports... you subscribe, and then whenever you are in an airport, you can access the web.

  • Satellite T series Wireless Internet is not working...

My router is working fine, i tap fn+F8 and it says wireless is on, the little light second from right under mousepad is on (orange) yet i have no internet connection.
And it's not like i've never had it before. it seemed to randomly go off.
I thought maybe there was a switch or soemthing dumb i've done but for some reason when i go into the little icon on the right of the toolbar (which has changed) it asks me for my ethernet cable, not even looking for any connections at all.
I tried reinstalling my router but that didn't work. I tried manually making a new connection, and also somehow tried to force it to look for my internet network.
i'm just getting desperate now and trying all sorts of things but nothing's working. i feel like it is either a major problem or a fundamental flaw in my IT skills....
please could someone suggest what is wrong, it is really i'mportant that i get wireless internet because i can't work next to the router which happens to be in my front room, next to my xbox..... which is more of a distraction than my family using the room 24/7.
    thanks

The problem is that all other computers in household are working perfectly, just this one isn't. Also i have had wireless internet before and suddenly it has stopped working and it cannot find any sort of wireless connection. Not even looking for it. my iPod is doing a better job :P
i'm wondering if the LED for wireless networks being orange is significant? I've tried to reinstall my netgear router so many times and it just freezes when it gets to 100%.
This notebook had to be sent back to Toshiba to recover it from a bue screen. But when the notebook was returned to me, wireless connection worked fine so maybe that's not relevant.
do you think i should uninstall the ethernet cable or do you think i should try to add this computer to the home network? even though it should already have done that.
    thanks :)

  • Wireless Internet no longer working.

I bought a MacBook in September of 2009, and my wireless internet worked perfectly. However, after about a month, it quit loading websites and said I wasn't connected to the internet, but the airport status in the upper bar of my computer still had all the black bars like I was. When I went to network settings, it said I was connected and the airpot status was on, but when I tried to open a website of any kind, it would say I wasn't connected to the internet.
I called the Apple Support people (who were no help whatsoever) and did everything they told me to do (unplug everything, turn it off, reset the SMC, etc) but nothing worked. I thought it was my internet, but I have since tried it on several other networks with the same results.
I hooked up an Ethernet cable to my computer and I can get internet that way, but I need my wireless fixed because I'm in college and I need it for classes.
If anyone can tell me what happened, how to fix it, or how to get a temporary fix, it would be greatly appreciated.

To verify if the problem is the airport card, you need to get a wireless usb adapter, They are available at Target or Walmart (returnable up to 90 days). A Belkin - Part # F5D7050 works with the MacBook. You will just need to download the driver from Ralink.com, go to the Mac support section. Or a Netgear WG111, also works. and has it's own driver. I had the same problem of dropouts. The connection with the USB adapter works flawlessly. I ended up getting this one from Monoprice.com: http://www.monoprice.com/products/search.asp?keyword=5336&x=0&y=0 $10.78. .

  • Can't get DVD burner or Isight camera to work via FW

I can't get a DVD burner (FW) or an Isight camera to work. The DVD doesn't mont and the Isight camera just turns on then back off.......I did all the disc maintenance and reset the PRAM. At one time these devices did works. Sometimes the FW board shows up in the System Profiler and sometime it doesn't. Could it be a faulty FW board? Firmware?

A new PCI card and $39 fixed it. I got the firewire 400 since my DVD burner and iSight camera run on 400. The 800 would have been nice. And it was on sale as a discontinued item, $22 ($99). But there is a catch, 400 and 800 cables aren't the same. DAH!!! New cables would have cost around $68. Yes, I do have cable supplier here in town were I could have bought the same cables at pennies on the dollar. Another DAH!!! I didn't think of it till after I put the card in. All so my cable supplier is on the other side of town. I'm tried and lazy right now.
Here ends another happy story, and I thank you all.......

  • Have timesheet data. Trying to get staff at risk of burn out (worked 8hrs a day during last 3 weeks)

    Hi all,
I've been trying to get a semi-complex measure out for over a day now but seem to be going round in circles. Most frustrating is I don't quite understand why one version throws an error, another throws out the wrong number and then whatever you guys come
up with will give me the correct answer!
I have a workbook uploaded here which I used for a different question, but majority of the data model is the same :
    https://onedrive.live.com/?cid=1C0322C61F94C9E9&id=1C0322C61F94C9E9%21125
What I'm trying to do is find staff members that are at risk of burn out (eg consistently working > 8hrs a day)
My main timesheet table (Time) is as such:
    StaffID (fk to staff table)
    ClientID (fk to client table)
    TaskID (fk to task table)
    TimesheetDate (fk to date table)
    EffortInHrs
my date dim is standard fare, only thing i've added is an EndOfWeekDate (eg EOWDate. sunday is the last day therefore for each date for this week the endofweekdate column = 18-jan. For last week it was 11-Jan etc) and I also have a 'last freshed date' that
shows the last time the model was refreshed
A staff member can only record time against a specific task once per day, but they can have multiple tasks across multiple clients for one day
The business rule im working with is
if they've worked more than 8hrs at least once in the last 3 weeks (dates that fall between EOWdate for 'now' minus 3 weeks and EOWdate for 'now' ), then return the sum of EffortInHrs for all clients for every day in the last 3 weeks
I've given up in getting it in one go so i'm trying to cobble together a number of calc columns and measures to get me closer.. but it all seems to stall
eg the following calc column (DailySumOfHrs)
    =
    CALCULATE (
    SUM ( [EffortInHours] ),
    FILTER (
    ALLEXCEPT ( TIME, 'Time'[TimesheetDate], TIME[StaffID] ),
    DATESBETWEEN (
    'Date'[Date],
    'time'[TimesheetDate],
    'Time'[TimesheetDate]
gives me the sum of effort in hrs for the day for each staff member. I couldn't get a measure version of this working. It would either aggregate across all days/staff or give context errors.
So when I tried to take it to the next step to find the max using the same formula
    =
    CALCULATE (
    SUM ( [EffortInHours] ),
    FILTER (
    ALLEXCEPT ( TIME, 'Time'[TimesheetDate], TIME[StaffID] ),
    DATESBETWEEN (
    'Date'[Date],
    'time'[TimesheetDate],
    'Time'[TimesheetDate]
I get errors, i'm guessing because i'm mixing my fact and date tables now and it doesn't know it can use the TimeSheetDate 'context' to filter.
To get the 'last 3 weeks' filter working I added the following to the date dim
    =if([EndOfWeek]<[RefreshDateLocal] +7 && [EndOfWeek] > [RefreshDateLocal] -14,1,0)
i then used it in an intermediate measure to get the max at the weekly grain
    WeeklyMax :=
    IF (
    MAX ( 'Date'[Last3WeeksFilter] ) = 1,
    CALCULATE (
    MAX ( TIME[DailySumOfHrs] ),
    FILTER (
    ALL ( 'Date'[date] ),
    MAX ( 'Date'[EndOfWeek] ) = MAX ( 'Date'[EndOfWeek] )
    'Date'[Last3WeeksFilter] = 1
    BLANK ()
    and finally the measure itself
    BurntOutHrs:=if([WeeklyMax]>8,SUM([EffortInHours]),blank())
I am not happy with this at all. There are so many conditions (eg filters added) that need to be satisfied for this to return a sensible result and I need to expose a number of the 'backend' filters that users would need to add to the report to get the correct
    answer.
As is, it only works for a simple Staff, date, burntouthrs report. If users attempt to create their own pivot table/chart and try to break it down by client or task it doesn't look right at all. I'd also like to be able to count how much stuff are working
long hrs but this approach wouldn't support that at all.
I could probably post dozens of my attempted dax that to me logically look like it should work but either aggregate wrong or throw context errors. Unfortunately my current approach to dax still is to try various, almost random variations until one works
    for whatever reason
I always aim to have a measure that 'just works' in all contexts where it makes logical sense. For me to get that happening here i'd probably need to spend another few hrs trying all kinds of allexcept() conditions for each filter where i want it to work
and hope none contradict each other
Thinking about it now, this isn't really a separate measure at all.. i think a better approach would be to add a calc column to the staff table that checks if that staff member has >8hrs assigned for any day (i dont think the default time->staff relationship
would allow this though). But i'm still interested on how to accomplish it using the separate 'measure' approach
I'll go spend the rest of today trying to get the flag working in the staff dim!
    Thanks!

  • Mac wireless internet won't work, but PC will. Help??

I recently joined a sorority and whenever I am at my sorority house studying, it takes my macbook pro an average of a half an hour to connect to the wireless internet. When it finally connects, it seems random. I cannot figure out what makes it suddenly work. Sometimes I wait so long for it to connect that I am forced to give up. Other girls who live in the house have some issues, but not as many as me and the girls who have PCs don't have any issues. Again, the girls who own PCs don't have ANY issues with the wireless internet. Also, my internet works fine on campus, in my apartment, at my parents house, etc...
Because I don't have any control over the internet I don't know what kind of router it is or anything, which I know would be helpful. However this just seems like such a specific problem that I was wondering if anybody had any ideas to make it work. I've gone through the network diagnostics numerous times and have done what I can within the network preferences.
I'm supposed to live in the house in the fall. Someone please help!
    Thanks!
    Paige

Do you have a choice of more than one wireless network?  If you hold down an "option" key when you pull down the AirPort menu bar item, what value do you see for "RSSI"?
