Trying to get a mirrored image

I've got 2 macs here on my desk, a Macbook with 10.5.3 and an iMac with 10.4.11 both with Pages 08. I can't get either of them to Flip from Arrange, or from Metrics using the Inspector or Mirror Image from the Print set up. I am using text with a graphic. I removed the graphic in both in case there was a corruption issue (suggested from another post) with no change to my problem. This is a tee shirt transfer I'm trying to make.
I also have an old iMac which would print mirror image, but of course won't receive Pages. And the Photoshop on that old thing won't load on the newer Macs.
Sigh.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
R

At one time, not too long ago, your answer would have been found in the Print dialog. That seems to have vanished. But you can still get it done with the tools you have available...
• Save the Pages™ document (I'm assuming here that it's a single page) as a PDF.
• Open the PDF document with Apple's Preview application.
• From the File menu in Preview, choose "Save as..." and select TIFF (any graphic format will do, but TIFF makes it easy to set whatever resolution you want -- 150dpi is the default).
• Finally, from the Tools menu, choose "Flip Horizontal"
• Crop your inverted image, as appropriate
• then Save the inverted (and now cropped) TIFF document.

  • How to I get a mirror image of a 3D extrude and Bevel image?

I created a ribbon using the extrude and bevel effect and then mapping it with a custom symbol. I copied the image and then tried to get a matching image on the flipside to mirror it but cannot seem to figure it out. Is there a way to somehow flip the orientation of the image? I tried using transform and then reflect and it does not do anything. I tried to do it manually in mapping and flipping the box upside down and in reverse but it just doesn't seem result in the a reflective image. Any ideas on this? Attached are the two images I am trying to get to reflect each other. Thanks

It works so it is you who have perhaps a blind spot you have to select reflect X and move the object horizontally just look at my settings and the video.
If you do not see a difference than what I have done and what Scott has suggested than what you actually did then he problem is something entirely different.
Here is a video you can go wrong if you follow it.

  • How can you get a mirror image of a photo on iPhoto?

How can you get a mirror image of a photo on iPhoto?

By using an external editor. Preview is already on your Mac. It's called 'Flip Horizontal'
In order of price here are some other suggestions:
    Seashore (free)
    The Gimp (free)
    Graphic Coverter ($45 approx)
    Acorn ($50 approx)
    Pixelmator ($50 approx)
    Photoshop Elements ($75 approx)
There are many, many other options. Search on MacUpdate or the App Store.
You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically. This is the only way that edits made in another application will be displayed in iPhoto.

  • AP802-BOOT-M bootloader mode and trying to get a new image on there

Ok. Dont ask me how I managed to get myself in this state. Surfice to say I was trying to upgrade an IOS image on an integrated 887 wireless router and its AP802GN access point.
The IOS to LWAP conversion did not go well and now I am in the state where I am trying to get the autonomous image back on there.
so I am faced with either this output.
*Nov 19 22:14:54.423: %SM_LICENSE-6-BOOTIMAGE_CHANGE_TO_AUTO: Boot image has been changed to autonomous image
Please use router EXEC CLI service-module wlan-ap 0 reload

Which when executed only brings me back again to the same output.
I cannot do a show flash:

So I am at the ap: prompt with no understanding as to what to do next as the AP I think has a 10.0.0.1 address and the router it is sitting in has a 192.168.0.1 address.

I hear what your are saying but it would appear that whilst the software 7.0.235.0 which is on my 2106 WLC does support the AP802 the actual hardware of the 2106 does not.
I will raise a TAC case tomorrow with Cisco just to make sure but this excerpt from their website is pretty straight forward.
    Cisco 2100 Series Controller
The Cisco 2100 Series Wireless LAN Controllers work with Cisco lightweight access points and the Cisco Wireless Control System (WCS) to provide system-wide wireless LAN functions. Each controller controls up to 6, 12, or 25 lightweight access points for multiple-controller architectures that are typical of enterprise branch deployments. It may also be used for single controller deployments for small and medium-sized environments.
Caution Do not connect a Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) cable to the controller's console port. Doing so may damage the controller.
Note Wait at least 20 seconds before reconnecting an access point to the controller. Otherwise, the controller may fail to detect the device.
    Features Not Supported
This hardware feature is not supported on Cisco 2100 Series Controllers:
•Service port (separate out-of-band management 10/100-Mbps Ethernet interface)
•Cisco 2100 Series Controller does not support the access point AP802.

  • How do I get a mirror image of a photo when using aperture?

can someone explain this i am new to aperture and mac for that matter!!!

You may be able to modify the EXIF data. I don't know quite how Aperture will behave, but Preview works fine.
So, if you have [exiftool|http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool> (which can be a scary proposition if you're not familiar with the Terminal), you can modify the tags in picture headers. One tag, called "Orientation" (See [http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/TagNames/EXIF.html]) tells your image viewer how to interpret the pixel data in the picture. You can change that tag to "Mirror Horizontal" instead of "Horizontal (normal)" and see what happens. This tells any good image viewer to decode the pixel data in the picture, but do it so the left of the picture in the file is on the right when you display it.
You should do this to picture not managed by Aperture, and then import the picture into Aperture.
So, after installing exiftool, do the following at a Terminal:
    exiftool -Orientation='Mirror Horizontal' file1 file2 ... file_n
Where the file1... part is a list of picture files that you want to flip.
I just tried that with a picture on my desktop, and Preview opened it just fine and had it as a horizontal mirror image. I didn't import it into Aperture (Since it's already there as the correct image), but you may want to experiment with this until there's a built-in feature.

  • Rotated frame, trying to get a straight image

    Hi there,
    I'm working with InDesign CS5
I've created a frame on a page, and rotated this.
when I add an image with drag and drop, it assumes the rotation of the frame.
Is  there a way that I can add the image so it fills the frame, but is  aligned with the page. I'm sure there must be a way, but I have so far  failed to find it. Apologies if this is a simple question.
    Thanks,
    ThreeIsles

Select the frame with the black arrow. Note down its rotation angle -- it's in the Control Bar at the top of your screen.
Then select the image with the white arrow. Its rotation is initially taken from its containing frame -- set it to 0 degrees to straighten the image again.
Oh -- and Drag & Drop? It's safer to use the Place command. I dunno, I thought that on either Mac or Windows (or both) you don't get a proper linked file.

  • Can I use split screens on and extra monitor I have. I can get mirror image on both screens, but not a split screen. The monitor is 1600 x 900.

Can I use split screens on an extra monitor I have? I can get a mirror image on both screens, but not a split screen. The monitor is 1600 x 900 AOC 20inch monitor. Hope I haven't wasted my money buying this £69 monitor. My 13" Macbook Pro is a little small for my ageing eyes. Thanks

In the display settings on your computer uncheck "mirrored". This will put the displays in "extended" mode. In extended mode you can set the external display to its native resolution as well as drag windows from your computer to the external monitor. I assume that is what you mean when you say "split screen".

  • I am trying to print a T shirt transfer sheet and am attempting to do a "mirror image"

I am attempting to make a personalized T shirt. I need to print on a transfer sheet  a mirror image.  I went under preferences and changed to t shirt transer but when I print it comes out normal. Not reversed as it should so when I iron the transfer paper on to the T shirt the writing will be correct.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. There's no way to get a mirror image for printing in iPhoto 6 except when the photo is in a book. You can, however, use Seashore, a freeware image editor, as the editor of choice in iPhoto and it can flip the photo vertically to get you the mirror image. You can set it up to use from within iPhoto as follows:
Using 2 Image Editors in iPhoto
If you want to use both iPhoto's editing mode and a 3rd party editor without having to go back and forth to the Preference pane, once you've selected the 3rd party editor as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General preferences under the Edit photo menu, reset the Preferences back to "Open in main window". Then when you Control-click on an image, you can select "Edit in external editor" in the Contextual menu to edit in your selected editor.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Getting 100% patched image

    Hi Guys,
I am trying to get 100% patched image through build and capture process. I am using below trying to get fully patched image. i have config manager 2012 R2 integrated with MDT 2013
    - I have 'install software' steps in TS (multiple times to get all the patches)
    - For office 2007 and office viewers, i have downloaded patches and added to update folder with office package.
    - I run offline servicing to get any missed out OS and office pacthes
but still once image is deployed, it detects more updates from SUP (specially for office viewers).
Looking for some pointers to get patched image out of build and capture process.
    Regards,

Offline servicing will only get OS patches...not Office.
The collection where your OS Deployment TS is targeted should have Updates targeted towards it as well. That way they are applicable while the TS is running. Otherwise the updates won't get applied until after the system is deployed and becomes part of the
regular updates collection. You might already be doing this...it wasn't clear from your post.

Trying to print an Avery (Microsoft)  T-Shirt Template. I am running 64bit  Windows 8.1. I have tried everything to access Mirror Image on my  Printer but I cannot find Mirror Image anywhere. After I click on PROPERTIES I am only shown"Lay Out' & "Paper Quality".  When I click on "ADVANCE SETTINGS" in "LAYOUT" there is  "PRINTER FEATURES"  This only shows "Print in Grayscale";  "Resolution"; Output Quality": HP Realife Technologies"; Borderless Printing" &  " Print all Text as Black.. I have been trying for the last 7 hours to try and figure this out. Hopefully someone can come up with a solution. My warranty  ran out 2 months ago so HP Support wasn't very supportive.

My suggestion: flip image before print. You can use a photo editor to flip images.
