Trying to get sound back. Did everything. What do I do?

I have an Ipod touch(4th) and my sound doesn't work. I looked at a conversation and the apple people say to press the home and the power button at te same time. I did it, but it did not work what do I do?

Do you have any sound at all? Do the headphones produce sound but not the speaker? Or is the sound completely gone nothing from either the speaker or the headphones?
If headphones work but not the speaker, more than likely the switch inside the headphone port is stuck open. Try looking for foreign objects in the port, like lint or dirt, if something is there, try removing it by blowing it out.
If port appears to be clear try plugging / unplugging the jack quickly several times (10 to 12 times) to free the switch.
If no sound at all try going into Settings, Music, Volume Limit and make sure it is turned off.
If still no joy, try Reset All Settings. If that does not fix sound, make sure you backup your iPod to your computer first, then Restore from Backup, last resort; Restore to New. If that does not work you may have a hardware issue, contact Apple and have your iPod evaluated. Good luck, Cheers.

The Retrospect you used way back when is no longer around. The company was sold and that company produced a new version of Retrospect - Retrospect 8.x
So, as you've been told, you would have to be running a Tiger system with an old version of Retrospect software (5.x or 6.x - you would need to know) assuming you can find the software.
As best I can remember you cannot extract files from a Retrospect backup except using the software since Retrospect did not normally make a file by file backup rather it created an archive of the files in the backup. I'm assuming that the EMC/Retrospect people have told you that old Retrospect backups are not accessible by Retrospect 8.x?

With respect, you actually cannot store folders on the left side of the Dock - only on the right side. I wonder if you're talking about Launchpad, which looks like a silver rocket and shows you your installed applications? It's not actually a shortcut to the Applications folder, though. You can certainly drag Launchpad into the left side of the Dock from the Applications folder.

Everything in your project will be exported when you use the share menu.
If you want to export only half, I suggest that you
1) Select the project in the Project Library.
2) Click FILE/DUPLICATE PROJECT
3) Give the duplicate a name, like Project A snippet.
4) Open the duplicate project in the Project editor and delete the segments that you do not need.
5) Then Share.
You mentioned surrounding a portion of the clip you were editing in Yellow. Once you do this, you should right-click and then select either DELETE SELECTION, TRIM TO SELECTION, or one of the other options available. That is a key tool in editing.
You mentioned MPEG Streamclip. I agree that MPEG Streamclip is a great tool.

What is "everything"?
First, be sure you are using the most recent version of iTunes.
Use a different cable and USB port.
You can try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists.

PhotoBooth is not on the iLife disk which has iMovie and Garage Band. PhotoBooth is integrated into OSX, so it's not going to be easy to get back. You'll need to get it from the recovery disk or partition. Which OSX are you using so we can point you in the right direction. NEVER delete any of the OSX programs.

Likewise, if you grab them from the dock and move them towards your desktop and let go, they go poof and are gone again. That may have been how you lost them inn the first place.

I am trying to get sound drivers onto Windows 7 part of my Mac

Ok, so I have my hardrive split up. Half Mac OS X, half Windows 7. The Windows 7 part, doesn't have the drivers I need. I can't use the same scroll techniques as on OS X or anything, but my main problem is the sound drivers. I CAN'T GET SOUND! GRR!!! I had a friend tell me to use the utility disk that came with my Mac while I'm on Windows and that should give me all the drivers I need. But I don't even know what the utility disk is or what it looks like! I NEED HELP!!!!! :'(

If you used Boot Camp Assistant to partition the drive and install Windows you should visit the Boot Camp forum. Driver installation questions and answers are posted regularly.

If you are running Snow Leopard the drivers are on your Snow Leopard install disk. If you are running Lion, you download the drivers from within Boot Camp Assistant.

Is it on mute? There is a switch on the side which may be mute or rotation lock. If it locks the rotation, double tap the home button and swipe your finger to the right. You should see volume, brightness, etc... On the far left is a button to mute or lock rotation. Make sure it is not on. If you still can't hear anything, go to settings> general> sounds> ringer and alerts and slide the dot to the right.

You still need to connect it to the computer it normally syncs with and restore it.
If you do not regularly sync it with a computer or have never synced it with a computer, then the device will need to be restored as new losing all content on the device.
There is no way around the "disabled" screen if you do not know the password without restoring the device via iTunes.

See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
See the iLounge Article link at the end of the table at the bottom. That can usually recover the media even when the device's library is shot.

Get error 500 message trying to get online bank site. What to do?

When trying to get online bank web address, I get a screen which reads "error 500". I can get the site using Internet Explorer but I prefer to use Mozilla Firefox because this is the one I usually use. How do I correct this issue.

Deleted Ichat, now trying to get it back

I had a virus on my computer which i've deleted and got my computer back to normal, but at the time my computer's memory full and had some 50kb left, and in needing to write a term paper i opted to delete ichat for the memory. now that i have like 25gb back i'd kind of like to use my isight and ichat, but in trying to download it, only ichat av 2.1 is offered and when i do that it says it can't find ichat av 2.0 and stops the download. does apple still offer 2.0 or do i have to buy a complete system update to get it back?
