Trying to get sound from my X-FI Fatal1ty Titanium Pro. to Home Theatre via Optical Ca
Hi wondering if anyone has done this but I can't seem to get it to work. I have a X-Fi Fatalty Titanium Pro(w/o the Li've Dri've) on Vista 32-bit. Anywho it has the Optical I/O on the card itself and I am trying to hook this up to my Home Theater system. I have the optical already hooked up to the output on the card, and into my DVD input on my Yamaha receiver but am not getting any sound. So far that's all I have done, is there settings I am more than likely missing either in the Vista sound, creative console, etc....
Note:? I had this working before on my onboard sound and on XP, but since with the onboard I could only get some sounds playing through my home theater I decided to get this Fatalty Titanium card and the sound settings in Vista seems really vague not a lot of options.

I have a Yamaha RX-V3800, it's fairly new and supports just about every thing except true THX.
Not sure what DDL means, it just seems to me I am having a lot harder time with Vista setting than with XP. I had a X-Fi XtremeGamer installed but because it didn't have any Digital out so I had to use my onboard sound which has digital out in conjunction with my XtremeGamer. At least with XP you can choose say all my wave, payback sounds, etc.... to go through one device or the other, in my case either through the Realtek HD or the CL X-Fi XtremeGamer.
Now that I have the Fatalty and Vista and onboard sound disabled, I have a hard time seeing any options and settings if any at all that Vista has. ? Oh yes also with my old setup with the two sound devies, the only problem I had was that if I di'vert all the sound to my Home Theatre I would lose the sound in my Headset which I didn't want and had to change back and forth the audio devices to what I wanted.

Here's an article explaining what MIDI is and how it works, it probably seems less than you thought it capable of but the fact is, since it's standardization in 1983 it completely revolutionized electronic music. By the Way, the designers of the Prophet 8 (Dave Smith & Sequential Circuits) had a lot of input into the MIDI protocol, in fact, if you had to say one company/person came up with the basics of MIDI it was Sequential Circuits. They also came up with the first polyphonic, fully programmable analog synth. I had a very basic MIDI studio at the end of 1984.

Hi there, I am trying to get sound from a Pioneer DJ mixer which has standard RCA outputs into my my new 21" iMac. Typically in the past I would get a converter from RCA to 1/4" stereo jack and plug into microphone input, how simple. Now Apple has changed the set up and have no idea as to how to get sound in. The headphone jack in the back of the iMac will only take sound in from earbud microphone, other than that it will only be for sound output. Any help would greatly appreciated.

This is wrong conception. To be able to quantize or do any processing like that, you need to record your performance using a midi track in Logic.
1. I hope you have created some Multi or Standard Instrument so you can edit (quantize) the midi region etc. When you decide that your midi work is O.K you can record it as audio using the Audio Track you are talking about.
2. The other way (new one) is to use the "External" plugin inserted on a Software Instrument.
This way combines midi and audio i.e you record/draw the midi on the Software Instrument track and is outgoing from the Software Instrument channel strip. In this method you must use "Real Time" bounce cause you use external midi device.
3. If decide to use the second method you can bounce the audio but you also can record the audio on an Audio Track if route the Software Instrument to a Bus and assign the Audio Track "Input" to record from that Bus.

Can't get sound from my midi channels
Hello. I've been using Logic 8 for a while. 2 days ago I updated to the newest version 8.0.1 and after I did it, I can't get sound from my midi channels. Before the update I could use my Ivory pianos perfectly, but after the update I can't. I've tried every setup I can imagine. I've been here sitting for hours trying to fix it but I can't .
Logic recognizes my keyboard, since I play...all the notes appear on the transport bar, but i can't get sound from any sampler (Ivory, EXS, EVP88, etc).
I've checked my outputs, etc...but nothing.
Please help me!!! I'm desperate!
ThanksDo you hear the Audio tracks and only Software Instruments are not working od don't you get any output at all? I was just assuming that through the update your Apogee has been removed as your Audio device in Preferences->Audio->devices.

Can't Get Sound from Harmon Kardon Soundsticks External Speakers
My Soundsticks have worked fine on my eMac and iBook bow I can' get sound from them. The System Pref has only "Internal Speakers" as an output option. I've zapped the PRAM and fixed permissions with no luck.
What am I missing? They have worked before and all connections from speakers to the iBook headphone jack are fine. Earbuds work.
Any and all help is appreciated.Do the speakers still work with the eMac?
Have you tried resetting the PMU?
Are you saying that earbuds work with the iBook, while the speakers do not? How can that be if the only output option is listed as internal speakers? -
Getting sound from macbook to work on HDTV
Hi, I'm having problems getting sound from my macbook aluminum 13" to my tv. The tv is a Samsung R8 Series 37" LE37R87BD HD. i got picture up by running a dvi to hdmi to the tv. i have no problem with picture but i can't get any sound. I tried 3.5mm jack from macbook to tv 3.5mm jack. got no sound. so bought a 3.5mm Jack to 2 x RCA and still got no sound. i even ran the the jack through my home cinema system and to no luck.
is anyone else having this problem and is there a solution?Forgive what may be a dumb question on my part, but you are using the correct audio jack on your MacBook? The output would be the one closest to the security slot, farthest from the display/USB ports of the two 3.5mm/optical jacks. Also check the Output tab of the Sound system preferences to make sure that the Headphones/Line output is selected. It will probably be the only output shown, but double-check just to make sure.
Note that not all TVs will work with an auxiliary audio input when the video input is set to HDMI. Check your TV's documentation to see if it can split the video and audio input to different sources. That wouldn't, of course, explain why your audio amplifier isn't getting signal either. -
IPod touch audio issue: why do I only get sound from one channel in my ear-pods?
After upgrading my brand new iPod touch 5th generation to IOS 6.1.2 I only get sound from the right channel of my ear-pods.
I did not have this issue with IOS 6.1.1. Is this a problem derived from new IOS? Any idea on how to solve it?

How can I get sound from tv or stereo when watching netflix on MacBook Air?
I have my macbook air hooked up to my tv and want to watch netflix but the only sound is from my macbook. How can I get sound from other sources ie tv or stereo?

I have formatted my laptop, Reinstalled all my Adobe softwares and still the same problem continues.
Photoshop sometimes gets stuck in between while working no matter what the file size and dimensions. Its not about lagging. The screen is just stationary and I can't access any of Photoshop's commands for the stationary period of some seconds or a minute. I can only minimize it. Photoshop even crashes at times.
I have latest wacom drivers installed 5.3.5-5, Bamboo dock installed, and NVIDIA, GT 740M version 347.52. I have verified the problem with Wacom but they say the tablet doesn't have a problem. I have even tried using Intuos 5. When I use the zoom command with mouse the document zooms in and out continuously without any control.

Can't get sound from Insignia BT headphones w/ BT-equipped dv3t
Both are brand-new, I charged the headphones and downloaded the updated drivers from www.broadcom.com (actually Vista seemed to do it automatically) and the device is paired but I can't get any sound out of it (it's turned on:-)).
Under the Playback tab in the Sound control panel there are three items:
Speakers: Bluetooth Hands-free Audio
Speakers and Headphones: IDT High Definition Audio CODEC
Independent Headphones: IDT High Definition Audio CODEC
All say they are working, but when I test the sound of each one I only get sound from the notebook speakers using the second option. The only weird thing I can think of is that I had the USB adapter plugged in when I downloaded the drivers, so maybe it downloaded drivers designed to work through USB? (I can't get sound with the adapter plugged in, though, either).
Any suggestions welcome, I really want to get this to work and not have to send the headphones back to seller (which is what Insignia tech support told me to do).
P.S. I know I have BT turned on because I'm also connected to a wireless home network, they go together.Hello again,

You re right, that it should be possible, although I wasn t able to find a way to do that... yet... Somewhere (don t know if it was this forum or another place) I ve read, that the SPDIF support for Windows Vista isn t that nice at this time... perhaps a new driver will solve this
Furthermore... I don t use the Media Center that much. So I don t even know if there is any option to set the output device (within the application Media Center). That would be important to realize "the best of both worlds". Explanation: If you want headphones support, you (always) have to leave the Speakers device as default. Other applications (such as Winamp,...) allow us to set the output device (in Winamp for example you can set it under the preferences Output -> Directsound device) to the SPDIF device, although we have selected "Speakers" as default in the control panel... nice, isn t it's For sure... if it would work...
That way you don t get a(n) AC3/DTS signal via SPDIF... so, if you use Windows Vista (I can't answer your question related to other operating systems, because of my newly purchased system -> I haven t used it on XP) the only way that I know ( til now) is to select the SPDIF device as default... -

i am getting no sound from all of the game apps on my ipad. i.e. angry birds, scrabble, but I can still get sound from the ipod app. also I can hear the games if I am using earphones
You have your mute button on. In Settings check to see if you have Lock Orientation checked or Mute checked on the right hand side. If you have Mute checked, all you need to do is click the mute button above the volume control buttons on the upper right hand side of your iPad. If you have Lock Orientation checked in settings, you double click your home button and the most recent apps will appear. Swipe your finger to the right until the Mute icon appears on the left side. Touch it and you will unmute system sounds.

My Adobe Edge project crashes browsers when previewed or published
Hi, I have a moderately large project in EA that appears perfectly fine in EA but when it's previewed it crashes the browser. Chrome developer tools show that the elements appear to be loading ok but there's a "Javascript error in event handler! Even
