Trying to get the mic on my headphones to work with my computer

I have headphones (with a microphone) specifically for online gaming and I can't get them to work with my computer.
The headphones have one plug for headphones and one plug for speaker. The speaker isn't working and in preferences for sound input I selected "audio line in port" but it's not picking anything up when I talk into it.
Course my computer doesn't have a plug with a microphone symbol for it to work. Will this microphone work for my computer? Am I doing something wrong?

The Mac has line-level audio input, not mic-level. You options are:
Use the microphone in the PowerBook.
Plug your headset's mic plug into the line-in jack, set the line-in gain at maximum, and shout.
Get a mic pre-amp for your headset.
Get a headset with built-in mic pre-amp.
Get an USB headset.
Use an USB mic adapter, such as the iMic

I have been trying to get the sap.ca.ui.FileUpload control working with an OData Gateway service, specifically /IWPGW/TASKPROCESSING which is the service used by both Fiori Approve Requests and the Unified Inbox.
I have looked at the sample application in the Explored at SAPUI5 Explored
I have managed to replicate that and get it to work, but as soon as I switch it from a JSONModel to an ODataModel I get javascript errors from within the setModel method of the control. I have redefined that method and corrected the errors, which enables me to get a bit further, but then I hit more errors, and other strange behaviour.
Either I am doing something completely wrong, or to me it appears as if this control is still extremely buggy and maybe either not designed to work with an ODataModel, or just hasn't been tested using an ODataModel. I'm hoping it is my mistake.
So has anybody out there successfully managed to use this control connecting it to a Gateway OData service? If so please share your experience.

This should be enough if you only want to list and display the attachments, then you don't really need the FileUploader control as that is more advanced and handles upload, display, change and deletion of files.
I only needed to upload and display files, so I used a list to display it and created a separate upload button using the sap.ui.unified.FileUploader control.

When I mess with the setting on my mac mini, it goes from saying that that is one of the devices to my macbook pro being the 2nd device. I think that something happened as a result of my using the migration assistant and now it thinks that my macbook pro and my mac mini are one and the same computer. Any ideas?

In going over this, thanks to "tallking it out" with you, I did discover the Text Edit problem. Because I've still been unable to get the new computer text size (fonts or whatever) to match the old computer, I did not notice that the curser is now different--the line midway down the curser has to be placed on the line I am working upon, otherwise the edits go elsewhere on the page. Now, with a bit of difficulty, I am able to get Text Edit to work correctly.
If you have any ideas as to why my menu bar and Text Edit type are still so slow, I'd love to have them.
(I went through the process you suggested earlier, re my Trackpad preferences, and found no improvement.)

Chrome uses a different and separate plug-in.
There are things about IE you need to know, especially 11. Specifically:

That doesn't mean a lot, I'm sure, but it's the root of your problems, and Flash Player has nothing to do with it.
Microsoft "rewrote" the User-Agent Strings for the abomination they call their latest and greatest browser. User-Agent Strings are what websites use to identify the browser you're using and provide the proper content for it's browser engine, like ActiveX stuff, and Flash or HTML5 video. Thanks to the geniuses in Redmond, WA, the User-Agent Strings for IE11 (which has a Trident engine), ID it as either "Gecko" (Firefox) or "Webkit" (Chrome). Problem is: when the site the directs to the content for one of these two engines, the Trident engine in IE can't intepret it and the site then sees IE as an "unidentified" browser.
The problem with an unidentified browser is that the plug-ins in that browser aren't recognized either, so even though you're up to date, it says you need the latest Flash Player when you use IE11. YouTube... has converted to HTML5 video so if it doesn't detect Flash Player, it can display HTML5 (MP4) video which requires no plug-in to play. Facebook can't do that, because HTML5 doesn't apply to games... only video.
Microsoft has no plans to "fix" the mess they've created because they think it's a great idea to block you out of the websites you visit.
They recommend using "Compatibility View" and pretending that you're using an older verison of IE... Problem with that is that it's seen limited success, and you have to enable it for EVERY page that has problems... individually.
I'm not big on "pretending" so I recommend actually using another browser.

ANY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in.

However, it is strongly recommended that users move to RDBMS 9.2.0.2 when it is available. Users do not need to apply any server-side database patches when running with RDBMS 9.2.0.2."
Where I can get this patch?
Is it RDBMS patch or OC4J patch?

Check out the configuration on the mapping. There you can create a data file. Do that and fill out the other parameters for the bad and discard file in that node.

Trying to get the old K7T Turbo back to work ...

Hi all,
I am trying to build a system from old parts I have lying around:
850 MHz Athlon,
PC100 SDRAM,
K7T Turbo V3
I cannot get the system to work so far ... it will not post but hang at 0100 (RAM problems) every time ...
This is what I have tried sofar:
- trying different sticks of RAM (4 - all PC100, ranging from 32 to 128 MB)
- changing PSU (a 300W Fortron came with the case ... I tried a 400W Zalman too)
- swapping graphic cards
- changing batteries
- tried with the board in and out of the case
- reseating CPU, memory, graphic card, etc ...
Nothing of the above helped ... I noticed that (at least some of the time) the power led is flickering fast.
I think that the board might be damaged during storage ... any suggestion is welcomed!

I'm trying to get the add-on Property Bee to work on Firefox on my Mac but can't seem to fix it, tried uninstalling/reinstalling FF and add-on, no joy,tips?.

Property Bee (property-bee.com) is an add-on that shows history of properties on Rightmove.co.uk which is extremely useful. However I can't get it to work whereas most of my friends use it and have it on Macs and PCs ranging from several years old to brand new. I'm using a Mac with the latest update and the most recent FF. Any suggestions would be massively appreciated as this add-on is so useful.

How to get the Personas Rotator add-on to work with new Firefox themes?

Before Firefox changed from personas to themes, the Personas Rotator add-on automatically switched personas at a set interval (ie. every 1 minute). I presently have Firefox 12.0 installed as well as the latest versions of both Personas Plus and Personas Rotator but the rotator does not work.
Before it was necessary to sign into My Favorites for the add-on to rotate my favorite personas, but now when I sign in, there is no rotation. Only one persona/theme that is enabled stays on the screen. There is no automatic rotation.
Private browsing mode is not selected. How can I get Personas Rotator to work again? Thank you.

Good news! The Personas Rotator is now working again and switching personas automatically at 1 minute intervals.
It began working again after I went to the 'Appearance' tab under 'Add-ons' and removed all the personas listed there (these are ones I 'Added to Firefox' from My Favorites list which is accessed after signing in to the gallery).
But now I see that the personas that are presently being rotated are appearing in the 'Appearance' tab as well. I wonder if it will be necessary to 'remove' all these later to have them rotate again. Will post an update later for anyone having this same problem.

Does the Xbox 360 wireless adapter even work with the WRT54G wireless router?!!? If so, how???

I just bought a WRT54G wireless router (Ver 8.0; firmware updated to latest). I have successfully connected my wireless laptop using WEP security, but I'm at wits end trying to get the Xbox 360 wireless adapter to work. (It worked just fine with my Netgear router until that router recently died.)
When I do the "Test Media Connection" routine (you XBox 360 users know what I'm referring to), the Xbox immediately recognizes the Network Adapter and indicates that it is connected to the Wireless Network, but it inevitably fails the next step in the process: IP Address. I have the set-up for the IP address to be assigned automatically by the router (which is set for DHCP Server enabled).
I have gone around the mountain innumerable times myself and then with well-meaning friends who say try this, try that, try this, try that. I've had to re-establish my laptop set-up so many times I wanna scream!
Are the Xbox 360 wireless adapter and the WRT54G even compatible? If so, what am I missing here? I'm not too technical and obviously in over my head, but this ought not be that hard.
