  • How to configure wrt54g router as an access point when connected to a 3Com switch

     I'm trying to use my linksys router as an access point to keep from having to make more network drops. I can't figure out which IP address/gateway to use on my router to get it to communicate with my switch. The 3Com switch address is 10.1.10.250, gateway is 10.1.10.1, netmask is 255,255,255,0.The linksys router has been reset to defaults.
    I know that it can be done but I'm having the hardest time making it work.

    For the DD-WRT firmware, you can try this link .
    For the price of your Acess Point you can try this link .

    Would you please try manually set the DNS address on client NIC to the IP of your server, then try run the connector again?

  • I tried to erase some of the email addresses that i have emailed  in the past that i no longer use. I went to window and all my email to addresses were deleted-can i get them back?

    I tried to erase some of the email addresses that i no longer email to - i went to window to delete some and ALL of them were deleted . How do i get the addresses back?
    Thank you sooooo much!

    Go to Mail Preferences>Accounts, click the '+' button below the list of accounts and insert the settings, username and password as instructed. Some account types can be set up automatically as soon as Mail knows the emails address (because the server settings are built in), in other cases you will have to get them from your ISP.

  • I was on an online course website, logged in and working on an assignment. Suddenly the page disappeared and was not on the tabs either. I went to the home page and tried to log back in and it said I was already logged in on another browser window

    Question
    I was on an online course website, logged in and working on an assignment. Suddenly the page disappeared and was not on the tabs either. I went to the home page and tried to log back in and it said I was already logged in on another browser window and if I proceeded to log in again the assignment I was working on would be ended and I would receive a zero. I can't locate the browser window that I was signed in on. Help...I don't want to get a zero, but don't know how to get back into the website under my original log in & get back to my half completed assignment.

    Hi,
    Please try this: In Firefox '''History''' ('''Alt''' + '''S''') and check if it is listed in either '''Recently Closed Tabs''' or '''Recently Closed Windows''' or in the list below. If you cannot find it click '''Show All History''', on the left of the window click '''Today''' below '''History''' and on the right look for the site entry corresponding closely to the time when you lost it. If you cannot see the column heading named '''Visit Date''', you may have to enable it by right-clicking on the column header strip.
    Also please note that the online course site may have redirected you to another site for the test, so it is also a good idea to look into site entries that may match the time.

  • Trying to bring back records with and without email address

    I have a simple query where I am trying to pull back all of my active subscribers and their email addresses. Most of the subscribers do not have email address but I still want those subscribers in my results. I figure it is a simple join but I can not figure it out. The discus.ems table contains only email addresses and their corresponding RRN's(Acct#'s). The SQL is pasted below. I am using SQL Developer 1.5.5
    select
    a.STREET_NBR ||' '||
    rtrim(substr(a.STREET,33,2)) ||' '||
    rtrim(substr(a.STREET,1,28)) ||' '||
    rtrim(substr(a.STREET,29,4)) ||' '||
    rtrim(substr(a.STREET,35,2)) ADDRESS1,
    trim(a.UNIT_NBR) APT,
    a.CITY_NAME CITY,
    a.STPV_CODE STATE,
    a.ZIP_CODE ZIP,
    b.email_addr
    from
    discus.sub a,
    discus.ems b
    where
    a.siteid = 'SUN' and
    b.siteid = 'SUN' and
    a.rrn = b.sub_rrn and
    a.stat_flag in ('E','C','I','V')

    For just one column, you could easily do a scalar subquery:
    select a.STREET_NBR ||' '||
           rtrim(substr(a.STREET,33,2)) ||' '||
           rtrim(substr(a.STREET,1,28)) ||' '||
           rtrim(substr(a.STREET,29,4)) ||' '||
           rtrim(substr(a.STREET,35,2)) ADDRESS1,
           trim(a.UNIT_NBR) APT,
           a.CITY_NAME CITY,
           a.STPV_CODE STATE,
           a.ZIP_CODE ZIP,
           (select b.email_addr
            from   ems b
            where  b.sub_rrn = a.rrn
            and    b.siteid = 'SUN'
           ) email
    from   sub a
    where  a.siteid = 'SUN'
    and    a.stat_flag in ('E','C','I','V')
    ;

    I'm trying to change my router IP address to  match that of sling box. The airport extream will not let me or sling help change it . Any ideas

    Here are the basic steps to setup port mapping on the AirPort:
    AEBSn - Port Mapping Setup
    To setup port mapping on an 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn), either connect to the AEBSn's wireless network or temporarily connect directly, using an Ethernet cable, to one of the LAN port of the AEBSn, and then use the AirPort Utility, in Manual Setup, to make these settings:
    1. Reserve a DHCP-provided IP address for the host device.
    AirPort Utility > Select the AEBSn > Manual Setup > Internet > DHCP tab
    On the DHCP tab, click the "+" (Add) button to enter DHCP Reservations.
    Description: <enter the desired description of the host device>
    Reserve address by: MAC Address
    Click Continue.
    MAC Address: <enter the MAC (what Apple calls Ethernet ID if you are using wired or AirPort ID if wireless) hardware address of the host computer>
    IPv4 Address: <enter the desired IP address>
    Click Done.
    2. Setup Port Mapping on the AEBSn.
    AirPort Utility > Select the AEBSn > Manual Setup >Advanced > Port Mapping tab
    Click the "+" (Add) button
    Service: <choose the appropriate service from the Service pop-up menu>
    Public UDP Port(s): <enter the appropriate UDP port values>
    Public TCP Port(s): <enter the appropriate TCP port values>
    Private IP Address: <enter the IP address of the host server>
    Private UDP Port(s): <enter the same as Public UDP Ports or your choice>
    Private TCP Port(s): <enter the same as Public TCP Ports or your choice>
    Click "Continue"

  • Router IP addressed changed but I didn't change it!?!

    The weirdest thing happened, and I was hoping someone could offer an explanation.  I have a WRT54G router and 2 desktop and 1 laptop computer all setup wirelessly to it.  I am the only one in the house that is familiar at all with how the computer network is set up and noone else knows how to access the Router Setup (I don't they even know it exists!).  And even if for some reason they found out there is one, there is definitely no way anyone could know my username and password.  Anyway, I tried to log into the Router Setup and got a page could not be displayed message.  Then I checked to make sure I am connected to the right wireless network (didn't want to accidently connect to a neighbour's unsecure network) and yes, I am connected to mine - I can tell by the name.  So then I checked my default gateway IP just to make sure it looked ok, and discovered that the IP address is now 192.168.2.1 instead of 192.168.1.1!  When I try to log into the setup using this IP, it gives me a login screen, but won't authenticate me.  Has anyone every heard of this??  I know I can reset the router to factory defaults in order to log back in, but I'm wondering if anyone has ever heard of this before.  Any insight would be appreciated.  Thanks!

    Your setup seems good. So it is hard to tell what caused the problem. There is a certain chance that some hardware malfunction caused a couple of bits in the RAM to flip. Maybe it got the LAN IP address and some part of the password.
    If you really want to check whether someone's broken into you would have to monitor the LAN and the activity (e.g. check the lights and use a network sniffer). Certainly it may be a couple of days until whoever-was-it does something. So, I suppose the best option would be a fresh start from a reset if you are not able to connect to the router's setup anymore.
    Changing the LAN IP address of the router won't make it harder to find the router or its IP address. The DHCP server will quickly tell... Thus you have to turn the DHCP server off as well. But still there are so many broadcasts on your LAN that anyone who would gain access to your network would quickly know the IP address. Thus, anyone who would be capable to break into a WPA secured wireless network would have no problem with the different gateway address...

  • Trying to Set Up Linksys Router

    Hi, I have a Linksys router and used to have an IBM. I know have the PowerBook G4 and I am trying to set up the router in my house. The Linksys installed CD is not supported by Mac, nor their customer support. I need step-by-step instructions on how to set up the router in my home. Thank you.

    I assume you are connecting to the internet through an ISP/DSL service. If so,
    1. Connect your router to the modem, and then your Mac to the router via ethernet. I am not sure what the set up would be for Airport as I do not have Airport on my G5. This should work for an ethernet connection.
    2. Open the Network preference pane Show Built in Ethernet. Then click on TCP/IP and configure for Using DHCP which basically sets your mac to automatically connect to the router/modem/internet.
    3. the click on the Ethernet choice and Configure Automatically.
    Now use your browser and set the address to 192.168.1.1 which is the address of the web page in the router. Check your documentation for the default password, etc. When you get to the basic set up page, you will have to enter your basic Internet Connection Type, your online user name and password, which you should know from your service provider.
    Once those are set you should be able to connect. Be aware though that depending on your service provider, some of these settings made need to be different. I am on Earthlink with a Linksys WRT54G router and these settings work for me.
    Hope this gives you a steer in the right direction. And by the way, when setting up with my PC laptop, had lots of problems. When working only with my Mac, it was almost plug and play to connect via the router/modem!

  • Since last update (today) I get invalid password when trying to use back to my MAC, password works everywhere else

    since last update (today) I get invalid Apple ID password when trying to use back to my MAC in Icloud app on my MAC, password works on all my other devices. GLITCH ?

    Try going to the Apple ID page on your web browser
    http://www.apple.com/support/appleid/
    and try to either retrieve or reset your password
    (obviously you had to be able to successfully log in to be able to post here)
    I was finally able to log in through my system preferences after about three or four hours. I ran a disk utility to repair permissions and restarted and it seemed to work ok.

  • Router IP address change

    I have DHCP on my network router firewall and I have a wireless router. I also have a private IP address setup of 10.0.1.   I change to router IP address to my IP range but it does not work. Is there a way to setup the router to find DHCP on my network and capture the correct 10.0.1 range? If not how can I manually change it and still use th web browser setup page to configue the router? The setup page has the rages 192.168.. range and will not connect to the web browser setup when change from this...I also wanted to disable the DHCP since I already have DHCP on the network...

    You can login to router's setup and change its IP address to IP address matching your network. Next time login using the new IP address assigned.

  • WSRP - cookies sent back to the browser

    Hi All,
    Does the WSRP consumer included in WLP10 send the cookies received from the producer ( on InitCookies , GetMarkup and PerformBlockingInteraction ) back to the user browser ?
    The producer i am using is tracking sessions with JSESSIONID path="/producer" , the WLP10 logs these errors on each interaction with the producer :
    ####<Jan 29, 2009 6:43:48 PM EET> <Error> <WSRP-Consumer> <dev2> <portalServer> <[ACTIVE] ExecuteThread: '17' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)'> <<anonym

The reason is [Tail match failed for url [http://bla.cla.com:20001/producer/wsrp/router/v1/markup/TestProducer] and cookie [[Version="0" ; Name="JSESSIONID" ; Value="2e35597102f7e7e458a180b04942" ; Domain="bla.cla.com" ; Path="/producer" ; Expires="null" ; Secure="false"]].].>
    I really don't understand what this error means.
    I am using default WSRP configuration on the consumer side, compatible with oasis WSRP 1.0 . The consumer is deployed on dev2.cla.com and the producer on bla.cla.com.
    Thanks,
    Andrei

    Hello again,
    Could you post the text of the monitor output when you are getting the issue with the Sun producer for a single portlet request (from the InitCookie request through to the GetMarkup response)? If you can also get a portlet description (usually in a GetServiceDescription response) from the monitor of one of the portlets having this problem, that would be helpful as well. I can try to figure out what is going on there, and see if anything is obvious. Often, interoperability issues like this are due to subtle things that aren't obviously wrong.
    What version of the Sun producer are you using? I can try to see if WLP has done interoperability testing with it.
    Yes, you are correct that WLP 10.3 and prior versions store cookies from the producer in the consumer's session- they do not go all the way back to the browser (unless an interceptor is used). The consumer sends the cookies back to the producer with each WSRP operation, depending on the CookieProtocol specified in the portlet's service description (see http://docs.oasis-open.org/wsrp/v2/wsrp-2.0-spec-os-01.html#_CookieProtocol )
    To get the cookie portions of the interceptor working, you will need to contact Oracle support and ask for the patches related to CR380227 and CR383977 for the version of WLP that you are using.
    I am assuming that you want to send cookies to the browser for reasons other than fixing the issue with the Sun producer, right? Even with these patches applied, the consumer interceptors may not be able to "see" a cookie if it isn't being parsed properly from the SOAP response, which is probably the problem you are seeing with the Sun producer. If we can figure out the issue with the WLP consumer and Sun Producer, it will probably be a separate patch to WLP (or the Sun producer) to get it to work.

  • Account ID ( email) not known when trying to set back the password

    I issued and installed an Adobe DRM Account long time ago, but I didn't use it up to now. Unfortunately I didn't notice the password. Therefore I tried to set back the password now. However then I will be informed that email is not valid. When I have a look into the Adobe Digital Edition Software on my PC , there is mentionned this email however as standard. Now I have an ebook reader and want to test the DRM Functions. As long as I have not the valid password, I cannot read any book. Now I issued a new account with a second EMail Adress, but how can I change this account on my PC ? I don't find any possibility to delete the old email address and to insert the new one ?

    Enter ctrl-shift-D (cmd-shift-D on Mac) to Digital Editions software to deregister the old account.  (It wouldn't be within the spirit of ADE's terrible user interface to make this easily discoverable.)
    Restart ADE, and you will be able to enter your new account details.
    If you have any devices registered with your old ID, ctrl-shift-E to Digital Editions while the device is connected will remove the old registration from the device.
    Remember if you have any DRM books registered with your old account, you can't read them with the new one.
    It doesn't sound as if you have either of those issues; more in case anyone else picks up this thread.
