Trying to go live on the web
Ok, I have CF7 installed with IIS as the web server on an XP
box. I am also using a domain forward from Yahoo to my box. I can
see the website on the my box only and when I try from another
computer it says page can not be found. How can the forward just
work on the box the site is on? Or is there another problem with
the IIS CF setup. I am trying to do some final testing prior to
hooking up with a web host so any help would be great.
I have search an read everything I can find on the forums and
Web and nothing seems ot work.
Thanks in advance
Shane
I was worried about that also. I am using a domain forward
from Yahoo and that seems to work locally fine. I also pinged the
DNS and Yahoo responds fine. But when I ping my IP on my local box
it does not go through. Could it be something with the DSL line or
my ISP being MSN? I am about to just move it all over to
CrystalTech and forget the local problems.
Thanks again for helping.

I am trying to use firefox as the web lauch for citrix ica client but when I go to login into remote site - I get the message waiting to find website but it nver finds the website. Has anyone else had this problem?
When I installed firefox, it asked if I wanted to use safari settings and I said yes but I think this might be causing the problem. Safari is no longer compatible with citrix ica client. When I reinstalled firefox it automatically installs the safari info. Does anyone know how to re-install firfox without installing safari info?Did anyone ever suggest you reset your PRAM?
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=2238
Also might want to try resetting the SMC, although I
doubt there's an issue there.
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=304123
I'm getting tired of people who supposedly know what
they're doing simply guessing that resinstalling the
OS might solve the issue. It's like trying to dissect
a frog with a sledge hammer, and wondering why you
didn't learn anything about anatomy in the process.
These sorts of things, although bizarre, should be
(and probably are) fixable without major surgery.
Thanks for the suggestion... but I think my first question would be why these parameters would need re-setting? This is a new machine... It has never been shut down hard. It is used at most 10 hours per week... mostly using Office 2004 for MAC. I need to figure this out as I will soon need it as a Cs2/CS3 - Aperture workhorse.
I too agree that it is best not to use a sledge when a scalpel is needed... but as a novice to the MAC world I may have been misled by Apple support. I seems to have fixed the symptoms ( some) but appears NOT to have addressed the cause... which is what I am after.
Would TechTool Pro detect a bad HD or RAM?

Problem while tried to launch query on the Web
Dear all:
In BW 3.5 Bex Analyzer, we can launch query in Web Browser, and display result on the web. It seem no portal setup necessary. In NetWeaver 2004s, when we execute a query from analyzer and tried to launch the web view, the only option we see from "tool" icon is "BEx Web Analyzer". But it seems not working everytime we tried to call "BEx Web Analyzer". Currently we don't have EP ready. Could it be the reason we are not able to use Web Analyzer? or is there anything wrong with our configuration?
If we don't have SAP EP installed, for BI reporting, what functions we are able to use ?Hello Chetan:
First , thank for ur reply. We did use function "Execute.." in the Query designer and tried to launch query on the web. But we get a result link like
"http:///irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fcom.sap.pct!2fplatform_add_ons!2fcom.sap.ip.bi!2fiViews!2fcom.sap.ip.bi.bex?QUERY=ZFACLQ01&VARIABLE_SCREEN=X&DUMMY=1" and on the header of pasge, shows " http://- Invalid Syntax error" .
In the BW 3.5, when we tried to launch query on the web from analyzer, a URL should be generated like that :
http://<host-name>.<port number>/sap/bw/bex?sap-language=%20&CMD=LDOC&infocube=ZPCA_C03&query=ZQFACL_Q44_A
my question is ...why the URL looks "strange", more like generated for portal?

I have a problem when I am trying to download itunes from the itunes web page. After i download the software and execute it appears error 2202 and it is not possible to continue. Does anyone knows how to solve this problem. Francesc from Barcelona
Hi amazer55,
If you are having issues downloading and installing iTunes, or if your computer for some reason thinks you have already installed iTunes when you have not, you may want to try manually removing all of the associated iTunes files and reinstalling the application entirely from scratch. You may find the following article helpful:

Is there any way to use the camera and stream live via the web?
I would like to setup my mac book pro to "watch" my dogs while I am gone. I want to be able to login to a website to view the camera. I was wondering if anyone could recommend software to be able to do this? Thanks!
I don't know the actual mechanics but I know that UStream is a popular streaming site for folks and organizatiuons to broadcast live video. So how hard could it be? You would have to investigate there what's involved.
One thing to keep in mind if you persue live streaming, and that's the bandwidth caps many (is all now?) isp's are imposing. For example comcrap and at&t have a 250GB limit. Not ever done streaming myself I wouldn't know if this imposes problems or not on top of any other daily stuff you might be doing, e,g, mail, browsing, downloading, etc.
FWIW, here's an example of someone streaming their dogs on ustream:
http://www.ustream.tv/channel/puppy-love---broadcast-live
And I can't resist, for those that have cable but don't want to pay extra for NASA in HD (which it supplise for free to cable systems), even NASA uses ustream:

Hello,
I'm new to video and I just started streaming to the web. I wanted to know if there is any software that is designed just for that. I use a camera with a firewire connection to my IMac. I use an M-Audio audio interface for the audio. The audio sounds good, but the video is grainy. I'm trying to get clean video since we stream live to the web. Any help would be appreciated.Oh, I forgot, I stream using both Livestream and Ustream. I am open to any alternatives that will help. I have QuickTime and Final Cut Express for programs currently.

Safari compatibility with Microsoft Office Live Meeting 2007 Web Access
I'm trying to use Live Meeting 2007 Web Access, and the test page is saying that the software isn't supported by my platform. The troubleshooter states that system requirements are Safari 1.3 or 2.0, and my Safari is 3.2.1 Can anyone advise how to remedy this without scrapping my current version and adding the earlier one? It also says it needs Apple Java 1.4.2...I'm completely lost there. Thanks for your help!
Hi,
Did the issue happen for all Live meeting or just for one Live meeting?
If the issue happen for all Live meeting, please update OCS client and then test again.
Try to reset IE and use other media player to test the issue.

I keep getting this message when trying to open documents from the web:
"Adobe Acrobat is blocked" -
Where to I accept the end user agreement which will enable me to access Pdf documents on the web?
The Adobe website recommends this: (did not solve the problem)
Safari 7 and 6.1 block PDFs | Acrobat, Reader
Thanks for any help solving this annoying problem!

Acrobat Pro 11.0.0Hello Isakten:
Thanks so much for your reply!
I already have Adobe Reader 11.0.7 and Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 installed.
Following your instructions, I then selected Reader as the desired Adobe product to open all PDFs. and save that choice. Still no difference, the same black screen and statement about the EULA shows up…
http://www.nhgastro.net/patients.html
BTW, this is the website that I was accessing……note the link to download and print the pdf which triggers the EULA page.
and also downloaded the latest version of Reader via their link….but to no success…..
This all started by itself months ago, I did no newer installs or settings changes, none……
Any other thoughts?
Thanks so much,

Are you using Component Works in Visual Basic? I've haven't seen this problem before. See you you can get the attached example to work in IE 6.0. Opent the htm file, it sets a cw activex component into a web page. I was able to on my machine.

Forms and AS: from LAN to the WEB. Some help please?
Hi,
I have AS 9i running on my pc which belongs to a LAN. I'm using AS to run Forms locally and so do all other developers through the LAN.
What I want is to publish this on the internet in order to test it under real-life circumstances. I use the router to map ports from the real ip to ports on my computer (virtual server), so I would be able to have access from the internet.
My problem is that I don't know which ports to make public. I tried to make 7779 but it does not work.
Locally I use this address to test my Forms:
http://theoserv.orco.gr:7779/forms90/f90servlet?config=theo
and accordingly I publish 7779 and try this to access it from the Web:
http://[REAL IP]:7779/forms90/f90servlet?config=theo
Am I missing something here?
Is only this port needed or do I need some other?
Is the way I'm trying to access Forms from the Web right (like LAN but with real ip)?
Please if anyone has any clue help me.. Thanks in advance
regards,
teoThanks for the answer Frank. It was actually a router problem I hadn't had the appropriate settings.
I finally did it by setting my PC as a demilitatized zone and not with a virtual server.. Its a little dangerous but at least I've been able to test my Forms under real circumstances.
I can say results were unexpectedly good :o). Specifically on the matter of speed over the Internet and bandwidth utilization which was my great concern. Only thing I didnt like (and didnt get really) is that it has to do a round trip every time navigation changes even if there are no triggers attached to both items that are involved in navigation and their block(s).
And my next concern is how will it respond if tested with multiple clients. We'll see but I'm quite satisfied with performance till now..
regards

Illustrator CC (Mavericks) crashes when pasting images from the web.
I have read many forums of illustrator crashing, and most of them is about the Wacom tablet. I do have a tablet, so I uninstalled the software, but tried pasting an image from the web, and sure enough it crashed again.
Hope you can help me, because this is very frustrating
Thanks in advance,
AlexandraUmm, well, have you considered that this is the most rubbish workflow one can imagine? Seriously. Save the images locally from your browser and them import them using the place command and even that only after checking them in Photoshop. There could be any number of issues here like files being damaged or having crooked color profiles attached that make AI go kaboom... Again, it's simply a very, very bad workflow.

An error occurred while trying to communicate with the web browser.
I have opened a PDF in the Acrobat reader V 8.2.4. It has live links.
Only the FF browser is open.
When I click a link in the PDF, I successfully get the message 'The document is trying to connect to...' which I allow and then successfully hyperlink to the web page displayed in FF.
When I click an image in the PDF, which has a url attached to it, I get the message 'An error occurred while trying to communicate with the web browser.'
[Sorry to say in IE7 when I click the image, I hyperlink to the web page like I do when I click the link.]
Question is: What setting or other step do I need to take with FF so when I click the image in the PDF I link to a web page like I do when I click the link in the PDF?
Thank you!Your above posted system details show outdated plugin(s) with known security and stability risks.

Hello All...
Back after a brief absence, things look a little bit different.
I'm trying to take a 16 minute mini dv video and compress it for use on the web. I'm interested in any suggestions you may have on settings for the video and audio tracks. I've tried using Sorenson 3 (15 frames, key frames set to automatic, 320 x 240) for video and IMA 4:1 (mono) for audio. The resulting video looked great but the file size came in at about 255 Mb.
Thanks!

Message was edited by: Dan FoleyThank you for the replies. Everyone was correct about the jack, interface, and phasing problems. I have been unplugging my motu audio interface and then using headphones at work. I have not changed any detailed audio output settings in logic. When I read that the jack might be a problem I tried switching headphones. This actually helped. I am using dre-beats headphones and they seem to be having issues with the mac/jack-(the phasing/panning problems. I can use these headphones with other devices but not the mac. I have to use ipod ear buds and the phasing seems fixed. Hopefully this information is helpful to someone else.
If anyone knows how to correct this issue please let me know its difficult to know what my final mixes are going to sound like and I have had to keep bouncing everything into i-tunes- sync to ipod and then listen in my car radio. -
