Trying to go wireless, no clue what I'm doing...
I just bought a MacBook. I want to be able to get on the internet all over my apartment, not to be tethered to my desk by an ethernet cable. I was looking into the Airport Express info on the website, but I don't really understand anything about wireless. Would this work for me?
This is the only computer I want to use. Can you setup the wireless thing if you have only one computer?

Assuming you have Internet via broadband (DSL or cable modem), you can use an AirPort Express to create a wireless network for your MacBook.

Firefox will not appear in the Market for most phones with incompatible hardware. You can check if your phone is supported here:

Even on some supported devices, a bug in the Market software prevents Firefox from showing up. This may be related to the fairly recent Android Market app update. If you go to Settings/Applications/Market and choose "Uninstall" you can uninstall the update, and then search for and install Firefox from the marketplace.

My bank sent me a new Debit card because of some security issue. It has the same number as my previous card but new experation and new security code. It worked fine for months then all of a sudden Itunes decided the security code is invalid. Now I can't even update my phone.

Hi. I just started using Java and JSP. I'm taking a class at school and am struggling badly. I need help on two assignments.
One:
Objective: This assignment uses JSP directives
Description: Create an HTML form name "SimpleInterest.html" that allows the user to input a starting balance, interest rate, and number of years. It should call "SimpleInterest.jsp" which calculates an ending balance based on the input. - done with this part
In the JSP include a header name "header.jsp" that sates your name and a fotter name "footer.jsp" that sates the current date and version.
Use a JSP declaration to declare a method named "calcSimple()" that takes the starting balance, the interest rate, and the number of years, calculates the new balance, and returns it.

If so, I'd suggest that you forget about JSP and start by writing an object that can calculate simple interest. Run and test it on the command line until you're sure that it's 100% perfect. See if you can write information gathered from the command line and write it to your access log in a separate object.
Once you have that, tackle the JSP piece. Get a book or a tutorial to learn how to write JSPs. I'd recommend Hans Bergsten's JSP book from O'Reilly.
You'll need a servlet/JSP engine to be able to run your JSPs. Download Tomcat from Jakarta - it's free and very capable:

I'd recommend that you download version 4.1.30. It's the stable production version.

HELP! Blackberry newbie I don't know what I'm doing

I'm new to the Blackberry world! I have had many Palm pda's but have never had so much trouble or problems with them as I have with the BB. I know it must be something I'm doing because I hear nothing but praise on the BB. I installed the desktop software about 4 times before it actually started working. I tried to install the RIM Media manager but, it doesn't work quite well needed to get into my computers reg. to delete the RIM program. I tried to sync my palm centro with the bb but, it says working on the computer but, nothing is going on half hour later.....still waiting.
I was told I could transfer my programs from my centro and still, I have no clue what I'm doing. I tried to install the music on the bb but it says network error or that it couldn't connect to that page. I also tried to do the bluetooth transfer to the bb from the palm but, still the palm says it cannot connect to bb. I'm loosing my mind trying to get all of this together and I'm ready to give back the bb and stay with my centro.... someone please help....

Best Buy shouldn't be allowed steelbooks, as you guys haven't the foggiest idea what you are doing.
I swear everytime I try and go to get a steelbook from Best Buy it makes me hate Best Buy ever so much and never ever ever want to shop there because of how bad you handle this and have no idea what you are doing.
Wanted to preorder Ghost Rider and get the free steelbook but guess what they never even got them in and I checked everyday for a week after being told they were in transit on a Monday and by Wednesday was told they had been deleted by the system. Well one good thing came out of that now I don't even have to bother buying the movie at your store.
Wanted to get the Warner Brothers line of steelbooks that you just came out but guess what just like Ghost Riders none have showed up and everytime I ask I get well 12 our on order for that title and that title and that title.
OH BUT THEY DID SET UP THE DISPLAY THAT SAYS COLLECTIBLE STEELBOOK AND JUST GRABBED AMRAY VERSIONS OFF THE SHELF BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO FRAKING CLUE WHAT THEY ARE DOING, THIS DISPLAY MAKES YOUR STORE LOOK LIKE A BUNCH OF COMPLETE MORONS AND CLUELESS AND THEY WONDER WHY BEST BUY IS CLOSING STORES ITS BECAUSE THEY ARE RAN BY IDIOTS WHO COULD CARE LESS ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS.Aren't those Steelbooks officially out till like June 6th or something? Repair your Apple software update.
Go to START > ALL PROGRAMS > Apple Software Update. If it offers you a newer version of Apple Software Update, do it but Deselect any other software offered at the same time. Once done, try another iTunes install
If you don't find ASU, go to Control Panel:
START > CONTROL PANEL/ > Add n Remove Programs, highlight ASU and click CHANGE then REPAIR -

joglennWhen having difficulties accessing the Time Capsule (TC) via the AirPort Utility, try the following, in order checking accessibility with the utility after each step:
Check the local connection. If you are trying to access the TC wirelessly, make sure that you are connected to its wireless network before running the AirPort Utility to administer it. If you are still unable to access it with the utility, temporarily connect your computer directly using an Ethernet cable to one of the TC's LAN ports.
Power cycle the base station. Remove the power adapter's plug from the power outlet, and then, wait 15 seconds before plugging it back in.
Perform a "factory default" reset on the base station.
Finally, if you are attempting to access the TC via an Ethernet connection, be sure that your Ethernet port is NOT configured for Jumbo Frames, i.e., using an MTU of 9000+. -
I have an ipad first generation. I am trying to connect to a linksys router and the ipad is not finding the wireless network. What do I need to do? Thanks for your help.
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app

• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

I am trying to play music on my iTunes that I had burned from either CD's that I had bought & own (in order to preserve the CD from damage and it is all only for my personal use) or purchased through iTunes. The computer that I use now is at least 10 years old, so how am I supposed to remember passwords from that long ago? I would need a book to write down every password that I have tried, and apparently not succeeded in using! add to my frustration is that my son put literally TONS of his music onto my computer and used his various Apple ID's and passwords, and it's just a bumble cluck of a mess. AGAIN, I only want access to MY MUSIC!
You're supposed to remember them or make note of them because they are key to a resource in which you have invested financially, just like keeping records for bank accounts you have or keys to your car. It is just that people haven't woken up to the importance of having a digital legacy too.

I am trying to setup wireless using my old dome Airport Extreme Base station. I had previously used it about 5 years ago when I had dial up but have now switched to DSL with Windstream. I can not get connected as the ABS keeps trying to dial up(the old phone number). When I tried to change my network settings an annoying popup window says "your network settings have been changed by another application'. I have no idea what the message is all about and when I close this window it immediately pops up again and prevents me -as far as I can tell -from changing my Airport settings? I need advice on how to get this wireless setup done. Maybe a reset? or something else? I have the DSL phone line plugged into WIndsteam Seimens Speedstream 4200 modem and then the ethernet (yellow) wire from the WIndsteam Seimens Speedstream 4200 modem to the port on the dome that is a circle of dots.
1)Can you explain how using the AEBS as a bridge will work with the Seimens Speedstream4200?
As a bridge, the AEBS will basically become a wireless access point. This will allow the AEBS to provide a wireless network, but still allow the Speedstream to provide NAT & DHCP services for the wireless clients connected to the AEBS. If the AEBS was left as a router, you would have a double-NAT condition which isn't necessary bad in itself, but would create a second subnet. That would make it more difficult for clients connected to the AEBS to access clients connected to the Speedstream.
2) Is there a link that will guide me through the steps to set the AEBS as a bridge?
You can easily reconfigure the AEBS as a bridge using the AirPort Utility.
ref: AirPort Utility > Select the AEBS > Manual Setup > Internet > Internet Connection > Connection Sharing = Off (Bridge Mode)
3)Can I just connect the DSL phone line to the AEBS and eliminate the Speedstream4200?
Unfortunately no. The AEBS does not have a built-in DSL modem. You will still need the Speedstream to provide this function. -
iPod nano 6th generation, syncing with audiobooks does not work now, had been working. Sync test says: No iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad found. Connectivity test OK, no physical problems, iTunes shows the iPod. Any clues what to do?

Have you tried using the iPod with another user account or computer, to help narrow down whether the problem lies with the computer, account, or the iPod itself?
