Trying to hook up a badge intaller?
Hey,
I am trying to hook up a badge installer, but instead of using the samples from the various tutorials available, I am not using Flash Pro to create the badge, I am attempting to use Flash Catalyst ... but I have never worked with with Flex before this. I can get it working with the sample badge, and the tutorials are pretty straight forward. What I can't seem to get right is hooking up the fxp to the badge AS file ... please help ... I have also been asking for help on the catalyst forum, and was directed here ...

OK... the corded mouse is an unknown, since you're saying it's a very cheap device. At this point, if I understand you, you're not sure if that mouse even works. Let's go back to the Apple mouse. They don't need wireless to work, they run on Bluetooth, which is part of your computer. You need to go through "pairing" to bond that mouse to your computer.

I am trying to hook up a catalyst fxp to the Adobe Badge installer, and I am having problems ... Basically I don't know enough about Flex to get this right ... I have got the .js and html all correct and can get it working when I use the example from the AIR SDK, but I would like to be able to create the swf content in catalyst, as this would make production of these so much easier and quicker ... basically, I think my problem is in hooking the .as up to the fxp ... I have post this catalyst forum and the AIR forum, but still waiting for some feedback ... please could someone help me out here ...

It sounds like you're connected to the S-Video out port on your PB, and an RCA in port on the TV. Assuming you're using the S-Video to RCA adapter that came with your PB (or another appropriate adapter), all you have to do is connect (as it sounds like you have done), both units need to be powered up, go to System Preferences:Displays, click on Detect Displays, select the TV if it doesn't do it automatically, go to the Resolutions window and select whatever resolution is required for your TV (note that there are both NTSC and PAL; if you're not sure which you need, try both, you aren't going to hurt anything), and select the input you've chosen on the TV (on my TVs with multiple inputs, it looks like the front input is #2, but try them all until you get the image from your PB). Enjoy the show. -
How do I find a previously passcode to link a wireless keyboard (Model A101urs6) to a Mac Power Book G4 running 10.5.8. The keyboard was linked at one point in the past, but then not used. When I am trying to hook it up now, it requires the passcode. Where can I find this, or is there a general number I can use?

I have a macbook pro 5,3 white I am trying to hook up to a samsung hdtv. I have used a mini dv to hdmi adapter but I get no sound on my tv. What can I do to get sound?
The Mini DisplayPort-to-HDMI adaptor will only pass video in most cases. You will need to run a separate audio cable along with it. Likely a 3.5mm (male-to-male) cable. Or a 3.5mm (male) to red/white RCA (male) cable. Just depends on what audio input ports your TV has dedicated to the HDMI input.

I'm trying to hook up my Macbook Pro to my TV. I'm using the 'mini-display port to female HDMI" adapter. all i can see is my desktop background. no folders or icons and when i play a movie it goes blank.
Drag applications from your main desktop off the right side of the screen and they will appear on the TV. This is the extended desktop mode.

I am trying to hook my MacBook Pro to a Sony Bravia TV via DVI to HDMI cable and the TV will not recognize the signal. I have used the same setup with three other TV's, each a different brand with no problem. Any ideas?
Is the TV set to take input from the HDMI connection?
On your computer, if you open the Displays preferences and do not see an Arrangement tab (or there is an Arrangement tab that shows only a single monitor) then there is something physically wrong with your connection. Try clicking Detect Displays just to see if the computer can now sense the presence of the connection. Check your connections.
If you do have an Arrangement tab, and it shows two screens, then click Gather Windows to bring the TV's Displays preferences on to your main screen if the TV is not yet showing an image. Set the proper resolution (probably 720p, 1080i, or 1080p). Set the refresh rate (probably 60Hz) if that preference is shown. You should see a picture at this point. I recommend turning off mirrored displays if it is enabled. -

ok so you have a macbook pro with minidisplayport and you can see your desktop on your LG screen?
go to system preferences>displays>arrangement and turn off Mirroring (if it's on). This will give you two separate areas and look similar to this.
If you want quick access to this setting click the "show displays in meny bar"
a little pointer, you see on my setup that there is now one screen with no white bar at the top and one with. This marks where your main screen is (and where the menu bar and dock appear) you can click and drag this white bar to your new LG tv.
Most new tv's have a setting to fit the screen to the tv size. This is a setting that allows for edge to edge persision instead of overlapping which you'll see in older tvs. Take a look at your tv's manual for more about this sort of connection. -
Hello, I am a relatively new Macbook Pro user. Only previous experience with a Mac before this was many years ago in Iraq. I have a relatively cheap USB optical mouse, that I am trying to hook up so I can use Lumosity.com easier. It is not an Apple brand - it is literally the sort of thing that comes with a cheap set of things in a 3rd-world store. I attempted plugging in a Magic Mouse from Apple earlier, and no, it did not work either. Simply put, I have two mouse devices that do not want to work in an environment that has no wi-fi (which I presume is why the Magic Mouse won't work, seeing as all it is supposed to require is to be turned on), and cannot seem to find success with this other cheap(er) optical mouse that has to be physically plugged into the laptop. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Quick list of things I've already tried:
1. Taking the Magic Mouse to an area that has wi-fi (failed).
2. Plugging the optical mouse into different USB ports on the laptop (failed)
3. Yelling at both devices for failing me (no result = failed ironically).
4. Turning the Magic Mouse on and off (failed).
List of things that I have not done incorrectly:
1. Not tried a different device.
2. Putting the device(s) on any glass surface.

I have a pioneer 50 inch plasma + I purchased new from the company back in 2005. I tried to hook up an Apple Tv to the pioneer receiver that came with the TV. I can not get it to work.
The receiver has two HDMI inputs in the back. However they say they are not for PC's. Furthermore they must be set up by going to the home menu. I tried everything, but I can not get the receiver to talk to the Apple TV. I even tried a connector that uses an HDMI to the Apple TV that has the other side of the cable as 5 RCA cables. I could not get the receiver to see the Apple TV. I have a newer TV in the house, it has no problem talking with the Apple TV. But this older system seems to be handicapped in its ability to talk with the newer Apple TV system.

BobI could not access the Apple TV on the television. If I put the Apple TV directly into by TV, I have an external sound system (entertainment system), therefore I worry that I would by pass the audio.

When I tried to hook up my macbook pro to a projector and play a dvd, the dvd wouldn't work. I would only get an error message. The dvd worked when it wasn't connected to the projector but doesn't work when it's connected. It just shows a blank screen as if it's trying to connect. Also, the connection works when I don't play the dvd. Any ideas?

I was given an ipod and it has been disabled and I have tried to hook it up to itunes and it won't sync
Restore, if iTunes will let you. Everything except the password will be restored. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. Be forewarned that it takes a long time. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. -

Does the monitor say anything on the screen when it's connected to the computer and you turn it? (e.g. signal out of range, no input, etc)
