Trying to import a CD, but it doesn't load in iTunes!

Question

So my mother asked me so help her upload some of her CDs (she's never done it on her own) and so I taught her how.
She'd sucessfully uploaded and imported all of her CDs save one. When she inserted the CD into the drive, it never loaded onto the iTunes panel thing. I have no idea what happened or why and I couldn't find a tutorial of any kind on the matter.
Anyone know of some way to get the CD to show up on iTunes?

I thought it was also strange how not only does the CD not show up in iTunes, but it also doesn't show up when I go to "My Computer."
has the drive vanished altogether in My Computer?
what's showing up in the bottom half of your diagnostics? (you may need to scroll down in the results to see it.) for example, when i run diagnostics on belladonna, i see:
