Trying to install Acrobat XI

I am a Creative Cloud member. I have tried to install Acrobat XI numerous times  (and uninstall fully each time before I try again). Every time, I see the Adobe Software License Agreement, there is no further wording, just the choice of quit or accept. I try to accept, but nothing ever happens. I cannot use the application at all. All of the other Creative Cloud downloads work fine. What can I do to make it work?

I deleted the FlexNet Publisher file and then used Disk Utility to repair permissions. This seemed to work. See:

Nothing in the Acrobat 8.x product family is compatible with Windows 7 (or any contemporary OS).
The Acrobat 8.x product family passed into End of Support way back -- (November 2011).
The current release of Acrobat (XI) is compatible in Windows 7.

  • I' m trying to install Acrobat Pro 10.1.8 Update. I'm getting the Error "Istallation fehlgeschlagen" without Error code  what can I do?

    Hi,
I' m trying to install Acrobat Pro 10.1.8 Update. I'm getting the Error "Istallation fehlgeschlagen" without Error code . What can I do? I purchased CS5.1

You can get the updates for the MAC from Adobe - Acrobat : For Macintosh, but apparently you already found that. Two possibilities that I can think of: 1. You have anti-virus enabled and that is causing the failure or 2. You are trying to install an update and skipped ones before it. If you start with the latest update, the download indicates the previous version required for the update. It looks like 10.1.12 can install over any previous version, so I would go for broke and install the latest.

  • Trying to install acrobat.  Entered in the Redemption Code and it says the purchase has not been activated.  Best buy says it has and even included serial number on the receipt to use for activation.  Still doesnt work

trying to install acrobat.  I purchased this at Best Buy.  The receipt contains an activated serial number to use when setting up the software. I entered this and it said invalid Serial.  Because Adobe also gives me a redemption code inside the package to receive a serial online I tried this and it also says inactive redemption code.  I called Best Buy and they say it has been activated on their end and the issue must be taken up with ADOBE.

  • Trying to install Acrobat Pro X, error regarding IE7 requirement, client has IE10 installed

I am trying to install Acrobat Pro X on a Win7 client, and I keep getting an error after entering the serial # info about the software requiring IE7 or better to be installed.  The only option is to cancel the installation.  The client has IE10 installed.  How do I move past this?

Thanks for the advice.  I tried what you recommend - uninstall Reader (10, in this case), install and run the cleaner tool, restart, then restart the installation.  Unfortunately, I get the same error.
Any other thoughts?  I am logged into the client in the admin role.

  • Windows Installer error while trying to install Acrobat Reader 8

I am trying to install Adobe Acrobat Reader 8 off the CS3 disc. I already have Acrobat 8 Professional (8.2.3) installed. I just need the Reader. Whenever I try to install the Reader I get the following error, "The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnal for assistance."
I have tried all the Microsoft fixes for this situation, but I still keep getting the error message. I am using Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit). Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

Nevermind, I figured out what was wrong. I had disabled User Account Control (UAC) when I was tweaking my OS. So I enabled UAC again and was able to install Acrobat Reader 8 without any problems.

I've already tried restarting computer and there are no other programs open while I am trying to install. I'm using Windows Vista Home Basic.

if you're using a dvd to install, copy its contents to a desktop directory.

  • Trying to install Acrobat

I uninstalled Acrobat because there was a conflict between two subscriptions (5.5 and 6).  I uninstalled both using Windows control panel uninstall.  But, when I tried to install again through the cloud, it states that it is already installed.  How do I re-install Acrobat from the cloud.  I'm on Windows 7.  Thank you.

I would start by double-checking in Programs/Features just to ensure Acrobat is no longer listed at all.
I'm moving this thread over to our download/installation forum.

  • Trying to install Acrobat on a Vista laptop, but can't find the installation icon in the Adobe Application Manager

Hi, trying to get Acrobat installed on my Vista laptop but can't seem to find an icon for it in the Adobe Application manager.  I have a CC license and it installs fine on my Win7 but can't seem to figure out how to install it on my Vista laptop.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Normally if something does not appear in the download options it means the machine does not meet the tech specs for the product.  In this case, Vista is not in the tech specs for Acrobat Pro XI if that is what you are trying to install.  For whatever reason it skips from XP to Windows 7.

  • Uninstalled trial acrobat Pro and trying to install Acrobat Standard

A user had installed Acrobat Professional at a trial. She never got it to work. We now have the Acrobat Standard with serial number to install on her laptop.
It came up the Pro so I uninstalled the Professional. The I installed Standard but when it gets to the Acrobat screen it displays Acrobat Professional at the top of the screen.
I clicked ok through a couple of screens thinking it was confused and entered the Standard serial number that I have and it said invalid.
I had her reboot and I tried again with the same results.
What do I need to get rid of before the Standard install so it doesn't think it is Professional?  It is not showing up in the Programs Add/Remove list.
    Thanks.

uninstall all acrobat and readers (if any are installed), clean (Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs) and then reinstall.

  • Had to have my computer wiped clean due to virus infection. In trying to install acrobat 9, i get a message invalid serial number, even though it is the serial number in my account. What to do?

Had to have my computer wiped clean due to virus infection. In trying to re-install acrobat 9, i get a message "invalid serial number", even though it is the serial number in my account. What to do?

there is a lot of info at that link.  by checking that link you'll see that serial number only works for the exact product for which it was purchased.
ie, if you purchase acrobat 9 std, you need to use acrobat 9 std installation files, not acrobat 9 pro.
