Trying to install Camera Raw 6.7 for a Cannon EosX, always fails.

Hello,
I am trying to install the Camera Raw 6.7 update for a Cannon EosX on a Mac, it always fails during the install saying that the administrator is suppressing the update. I am logged into the administrative account on this computer, and can not figure out what is preventing the install from going through.
The laptop is an OS 10.8.5 Mac, using Potoshop CS5.
Has anyone run into this? Any solutions out there?

For PSE 6, get the .plugin out of the download, then go to your hard drive>library>Application Support>Adobe>plug-ins>file formats and remove the old plug-in, then put just the new .plugin file in there instead. Older versions of PSE can't update ACR from the help menu the way PSE 10 can.

Error U44M2P24 when trying to install Camera Raw 6.7

I'm trying to install Camera Raw 6.7 in OS X Lion 10.7.3 and keep getting error message U44M2P24 stating that the installation failed. I've tried re-downloading the installer and trying again after a restart, but it still doesn't work.

Nope. DNG is backwards compatible John and imho works better in Adobe applications than CR2. Upgrade to PSE 11 or download and install the free Adobe DNG converter to convert your raw files to the Adobe universal Raw format and the files will open in all versions of PSE (keep your originals as backups and for use in the camera manufactures software)

Trying to install camera raw updates for elements 12 having trouble

as i am trying to install the camera raw up date it stops and asks me to shut down elements editor, when i do it continues to come back to the same screen and never lets me move forward. Any suggestions on how to fix or am i doing something wrong on the update.

Yes, when I tried to edit raw image from file it popped up that the camera was not supported. ( I had a Rebel XSI and upgraded to Canon 70D). Below is the error report that popped up.
Could not complete your request because the file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by the installed version of Camera Raw.
Please visit the Camera Raw help documentation for additional information.
So when I went into help and clicked upgrades that is when I ran into the problems.

How to install Camera Raw 6.7 for Photoshop CS6 Beta?

I tried; it installed for CS5 only (exactly what I didn't want it to do). I don't see where the app/plugins are stored on the computer, so I haven't tried to manually fix it.
I'd like to have my old version of ACR back for CS5, and to be able to use the new one in CS6 beta.

You cannot install 6.7 in CS6. It is specific for CS5.
If you are interested by the additional camera support, I suggest that you convert a copy of the files with the DNG converter 6.7 until Camera Raw will be updated.
If your camera manufacturer supported DNG as a native raw format, you would not have this issue. (And I can't imagine what the ACR/Lightroom and other teams would come with with the time they would win thanks to that.)

I am trying to install the camera raw update 6.6 to my newly purchased CS5 extended and I keep getting an error code U44M2P7, or U44M1P7. I really need to figure this out because it will not read the raw files from my Nikon D7000 without this update. Need help installing camera raw plug-in for Photoshop CS6

I have a Raw photo that won't open in my Photoshop CS6. The error message and online documentation say the same thing...They recommend going under Help > Updates and following the instructions. Problem is, "Updates" is not actually a choice under the Help menu.
I tried downloading the file directly, but it doesn't launch and installer and I'm not sure what to do with the file.
Any ideas? Where can I go or what can I do to get this plug-in installed?

How to install Camera Raw 8.0 into Photoshop CC 14.2.1

I have just installed PS CC 14.2.1 and was used to, when I open a jpegs in PS, it immediately opens in Camera Raw, which I like.
I tried to install Camera Raw, but the Application Manager Application Manager keeps on informing me that the patch is not applicable for me.
Is there a specific setting that I can make to change this feature that all the jpegs immediately open in RAW?

Failure to install Camera Raw update

I tried to install Camera Raw 6.4.1 update for CS5 (doing so from within CS5) but it failed twice. The screen says to contact customer support which I did, but was told that they no longer support this version and I should go to the forums.

I have Photoshop CS5 and installed Camera Raw 6.4.1 Plug-in in error, as it will not work with Nikon D7000. I have tried to install Camera Raw 6.3
and CS5 will not take it and I get the error message u44m2l218. Does anyone know how I can remove 6.4.1 plug-in and get 6.3 installed.

However, this is the first I've heard that Camera Raw 6.4.1 wouldn't work with a D7000... Can you please try to be more specific about what error you're seeing?
I have a suspicion that perhaps you really haven't upgraded Camera Raw properly, as versions from 6.3 onward are supposed to be able to handle D7000 images.

It seems you are on CS2, in which case ACR 3.7 is indeed the last version to run with it.
To install the latest plug-in put it right where the older one was, and COMPLETELY DELETE the old one; just renaming it won't do, nor will moving it to a different folder anywhere near the path will be sufficient. If you want to keep the old one, move it to your documents or data folder, FAR AWAY from the application. You could even keep just a zipped version of it.

If you ended up with a file called "Camera Raw.plugin" you may have inadvertently downloaded the Macintosh version of the plug-in by mistake. If that's the case and if you are on Windows, download the Windows version now.
Look at Dorin's screen shot for the proper name of the latest file you need for Windows:
