ps cs4 can only update to 5.7

I am trying to install the Camera Raw 6.7 update for a Cannon EosX on a Mac, it always fails during the install saying that the administrator is suppressing the update. I am logged into the administrative account on this computer, and can not figure out what is preventing the install from going through.
The laptop is an OS 10.8.5 Mac, using Potoshop CS5.
Has anyone run into this? Any solutions out there?

Trying to install camera raw updates for elements 12 having trouble

as i am trying to install the camera raw up date it stops and asks me to shut down elements editor, when i do it continues to come back to the same screen and never lets me move forward. Any suggestions on how to fix or am i doing something wrong on the update.

Yes, when I tried to edit raw image from file it popped up that the camera was not supported. ( I had a Rebel XSI and upgraded to Canon 70D). Below is the error report that popped up.
Could not complete your request because the file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by the installed version of Camera Raw.
Please visit the Camera Raw help documentation for additional information.
So when I went into help and clicked upgrades that is when I ran into the problems.

I am trying to install the camera raw update 6.6 to my newly purchased CS5 extended and I keep getting an error code U44M2P7, or U44M1P7. I really need to figure this out because it will not read the raw files from my Nikon D7000 without this update. Business will be picking up for me in the next few weeks so I hope to get this figured out soon. Thanks in advance for any help!

I have a NIkon D5100 camera and I would like to be able to edit the NEF files created by that camera in Photoshop.
I have a Win 7 - 32 bit computer with Adobe CS4.
I have downloaded and installed Application Manager 8.0_all.exe
I have downloaded the Camera_Raw_6_4_1_updater.zip file.
I unzipped AdobePatchINstaller.exe from the Camera_Raw zip file and when I run it I get the following screen.

The D5100 was first supported in Camera Raw 6.4 which is only compatible with CS5 and later.
So you'll never be able to edit Raw files from the D5100 in CS4.
Some options:
Buy CS6 (upgrade from CS4 is no longer available), or
Join the Cloud and get PS+LR for $9.99/month, or
Buy Photoshop Elements, or
Free option: download the free Adobe DNG converter, convert all Raw D5100 files to DNG format then edit the DNGs in CS4

How to install Camera Raw 8.0 into Photoshop CC 14.2.1

I have just installed PS CC 14.2.1 and was used to, when I open a jpegs in PS, it immediately opens in Camera Raw, which I like.
I tried to install Camera Raw, but the Application Manager Application Manager keeps on informing me that the patch is not applicable for me.
Is there a specific setting that I can make to change this feature that all the jpegs immediately open in RAW?

Problem with installing camera raw 3.7

Can somebody help me?I was trying to install camera raw 3.7 but the option for launching it still is disabled..i cant figure out where is the problem...can somebody explain me a little bit more about installing camera raw?i moved the camera raw.8bi into another folder but then i got confussed..it seems to me as camera raw.8bi and camera raw plug in are the same,...from then on i coulnt find the way out!!please can somebody explain me about the process!!thanks in advance

It seems you are on CS2, in which case ACR 3.7 is indeed the last version to run with it.
To install the latest plug-in put it right where the older one was, and COMPLETELY DELETE the old one; just renaming it won't do, nor will moving it to a different folder anywhere near the path will be sufficient. If you want to keep the old one, move it to your documents or data folder, FAR AWAY from the application. You could even keep just a zipped version of it.

If you ended up with a file called "Camera Raw.plugin" you may have inadvertently downloaded the Macintosh version of the plug-in by mistake. If that's the case and if you are on Windows, download the Windows version now.
Look at Dorin's screen shot for the proper name of the latest file you need for Windows:

Failure to install Camera Raw update

I tried to install Camera Raw 6.4.1 update for CS5 (doing so from within CS5) but it failed twice. The screen says to contact customer support which I did, but was told that they no longer support this version and I should go to the forums.

Help Anyone,
I have Photoshop CS5 and installed Camera Raw 6.4.1 Plug-in in error, as it will not work with Nikon D7000. I have tried to install Camera Raw 6.3
and CS5 will not take it and I get the error message u44m2l218. Does anyone know how I can remove 6.4.1 plug-in and get 6.3 installed.

However, this is the first I've heard that Camera Raw 6.4.1 wouldn't work with a D7000... Can you please try to be more specific about what error you're seeing?
I have a suspicion that perhaps you really haven't upgraded Camera Raw properly, as versions from 6.3 onward are supposed to be able to handle D7000 images.

If you have Photoshop CS6 or higher, you already have Adobe Camera Raw 8. What you want is to update ACR to version 8.6. You can do that automatically through the Help > Updates menu item.
If you have a lower version of Photoshop, you cannot run any version of ACR 8.x.
If you don't have Photoshop at all, then you need to buy it first.
