Trying to install FCE HD 3.5 and it fails on LiveType
I am installing the entire package, however, when I get to Live Type Media 1 it fails on 1A after it has gone 69% of the way. I have tried to re-intall/upgrade about six times now.... Please help!
I had the same problem and called Apple support, which is free for 90 days after you activate it (the copde for the support is on the FCE disc cover or the box. Anyways it turned out to be a bad disc and they overnighted me a new one which installed perfectly first time.
If you hear a grinding noise coming from your superdrive prior to failure and/or your drive pulses on and off chances are good that the disc is bad. To test if the disc was bad Apple had me remove LiveType disc one and close out of the install program insert LiveType disc 2 and install disc 2 by itself. When disc 2 loaded fine it confirmed that disc 1 was bad.
It sounds like their was a bad run of disc 1,

NEVER begin before you have a backup, ideally one you have tested and know works.
You don't really install Boot Camp, the Assistant is a partition tool utility.
You may just want Office 2008 for Mac.
If you need Office for Windows, perhaps run Windows in a VM like Parallels or Fusion.
Buy some backup drives and start using TimeMachine for one backup, then weekly backup with SuperDuper.
IF there is now a partition for Windows, all you need is to buy Windows, and I would recommend Windows 7 Home Premium (retail) which is about US$149.
Has nothing to do with free space. Office 2010 isn't to boot from. In fact, you can copy the disc to a folder (1.25GB) and run SETUP from there. -

Now the previous version won't open. I downloaded and tried to instal 6.0 without software update, which failed, and my old 5.5.3 Airport Utility still won't open.
iTunes no longer recognizes my airport express.
Error Message:
None of the selected updates could be installed.
An unexpected error occurred.
Can't delete Airport Utility and reinstal from scratch as it is, “AirPort Utility” can’t be modified or deleted because it’s required by Mac OS X.
Any sugestions?I reinstalled AirPort 5.5.3 which worked, but the app still won't launch but iTunes now recognizes my AirPort Express, I just hope I don't want to change its settings.

Just restore your bootable backup/clone or Time Machine backup.

A broken Windows Modules Installer then. It's a bit of an involved fix getting past it, but we've had success here with it in the past.
First, I'd strongly suggest setting up a system restore point.
Now try the Scenario III treatment from the following document:
Windows Update Error 80070424 in Vista
Head back into Windows Update and attempt to get updates again. If they still fail, this time with an 8000FFFF error code, try the following Microsoft document:
Windows Update error 8000FFFF
If you get Windows Updates flowing again, stock up on any you're behind on (restarting the PC when requested to do so). This may take some time and may have to be done in several batches, depending on how far you've fallen behind. Basically, keep going back to Windows Update until it stops offering you new updates.
After the updates have been installed, restart the PC one more time (in order to ensure that any pending installs requiring a restart have been resolved).
Now try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the 0x80070424 this time? -

I downloaded the 32 bit version of photoshop cc 2014. When trying to install I get the message that installer failed to initialize and that this could be due to a missing file. Has anybody a solution>?
Did you unzip the entire contents of the download zip file onto your hard drive before running the installer? You need to do that.
I have installed it myself and it went in just fine.

Thanks, but I've done that several times & it still says I need administraive privileges. I had itunes installed with no problems until I did the latest update. After that it just disappeared, so I tried reinstalling. Now I can't sync my phone. This is so frustrating!

If its a subscription, then all you need is to sign in at adobe.com using your Adobe credentials and download the software.
