Trying to install flash player 9 with out activeX controll???

i deleted something to do with xp and now i got no flash player and no activeX controll and my internet is running with add ons disabled and i cnt turn it back on.....so how do i download flash player 9???????????

It's very difficult to help you when we don't know exactly what you did / deleted.
If you deleted something that is part of Windows, then you can try to run the System File Checker
Start -> Run -> type sfc /scannow [Enter]
This will replace all missing or corrupt system files; you will need your Windows install disk for this.
Another thing you can try is a System Restore to a date before your problem started.
Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore
Do you have any particular reason why you want to install the old version 9 of Flash Player?  You can download it from this page (the installer you will need to run is flashplayer9r159_winax.exe).

You already have most current version of Adobe (Shockwave Flash): version 10.0.45.2
The instructions on the Adobe site are out-of-date and incorrect.
You can download the Adobe Download Manager if you wish, but it has caused some problems, and I would advise against it. See the following for information on Adobe DLM:

  • Trying to install flash player on Mac  OS 10.6 .

Trying to install flash player on Mac  OS 10.6 w/Safari.  Ran uninstaller.  In troubleshooting guide, no version comes up in the box, and no error message. I have unblocked cookies and pop-ups. No firewall. Still, the download bar runs to completion, and then nothing. Help?
UPdate: called my local Apple Geek, and he said go to finder, click on adobe download, and go from there. Got the install icon, and its installed. 2 minutes versus the 2 hours I spent on the Adobe troubleshooting page. Don't know whether to laugh or cry. Or have a beer. Anyway, thanks for reading and good luck.

I have tried about twenty times to install the Adobe Flash Player on my Mac. I had Adobe malware previously when responding to a fake popup Adobe update request.
In orfer to install now I am asked to disable my anti virus. If I do it would be permanent. I get the Adobe download and installer and even see I have an installed version in a box on the Adobe page but cannot access pdf's that require the player.

  • Ubuntu 10 (Linux) & Firefox 3.6 ~ How to uninstall the Adobe Flash Player plug-in & ActiveX control

Ubuntu 10.045 (Linux) and Firefox 3.6.3  ~  How to uninstall the Adobe  Flash Player plug-in & ActiveX control
In general Adobe needs to offer Ubuntu (Linux) support.  I don't use Windows anymore and will go with whatever company provides me the Plug In's I need to function.  In this case at the current time, I can't use Adobe flash Player to view You Tube video's.  I followed the link that helps a user fix the problem:
Solve a Problem: The video won't play:
    http://www.google.com/support/youtube/bin/answer.py?answer=56115
I then saw that you suggested that I first needed to uninstall any older versions of the Flash Player and then install the latest version of the Flash player.  I clicked on the link find out how to uninstall it here:
How to uninstall the Adobe Flash Player plug-in and ActiveX control
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
They didn't offer any help with Ubuntu 10.045 (Linux).  Please offer the instructions and automatic (non-terminal) uninstaller.  Also, I want an automatic installer for Ubuntu 10 (Linux) & Firefox 3.6 that is easy like like you have for Windows and like Sun's Java has for Linux.

You should go to this site to see what versions of Flash Player and Shockwave Player you have installed.
    http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome/
The versions you are listing (10.0 r12, 10.0 r2) appear to be Shockwave Plauer versions, not Flash Player.
If you want to uninstall Flash Player, there should be an uninstaller in the install directory.  I do not know where that is on Linux.

  • Installing Flash Player with new Google Chrome

hello, i need help. i decided to try out the new google
chrome and it works really well, but the flash player is not
updated...so i've been trying to do so but its either my computer
won't let me or somethings wrong.
i can put the "install flash drive" thing or button on my
desktop..i press it. it asks to run it and i do. it looks like its
installing but then it completes and just says close. i press close
and nothing happens... i go back to say youtube and it didn't work.
whats going on? can you help me?

Technically since it's still in beta it's unsupported.
However, if you have a previous Flash Player PLUGIN install on your
system, then installing Chrome should just pick up that plugin.
So if you had Firefox already, with the Flash Player 10
plugin working, you wouldn't need to do anything.
But if you only had IE with Flash, then you only have the
Flash Player ACtiveX control, not the plugin. And chrome won't work
with that. At that point if you have install issues with the plugin
you should actually contact Google (because it's beta..) if they
have Flash Player issues they'll work with us directly to address
    them for their final release.
Now, if SOME sites work, like youtube, then you do NOT have a
Flash Player install problems. Rather, sites that do not work have
a Flash Player DETECTION problem, and you should inform them of
    this as well.
You can file chrome bugs here:
    http://googlechromereleases.blogspot.com/
That all said, I have seen some chrome Flash Player
workarounds out there, though they use a somewhat extra-legal
download of the player. So I won't mention them here. But I'm sure
you could find them if you need one..

  • Problems installing Flash player with IE

I am having problems with installing the macromedia Flash
player on Internet Explorer 6 on Windows 2000 pro. However the
thing is that with Firefox the flash player works fine. I tried
uninstalling and reinstalling the flash player with no success. The
install program will tell me flash player is installed, however on
every website with flash I get the square with the red cross in the
    upper corner.
When browsing this forum I came across this thread:
    Forum
    thread .
In this thread it was advised to use the uninstaller which
    can be found here:
    Uninstaller. However
when I use this installer two files are left in the folder
c:\WINNT\System32\Macromed\Flash. The two files are GetFlash and
Flash9.ocx. When I try to remove the Flash folder manually I get
the following error message: Can not delete the file Flash9.ocx The
file is in use by another program. When I reboot and go the folder
again I still get this message. Could this be a problem so that the
Flash player will not install properly?
I hope that someone could help me fix this problem. In the
mean time I will use Mozilla Firefox as this browser does work how
    it's supposed to.

    Hi,
Which windows version you are currently using ?
If you are using Windows 8 or 8.1, then Flash Player for Internet explorer is updated by the windows update by Microsoft so you need to update your Windows to get the latest version of Flash player.
    Current version is 17.0.0.169

  • Trying to install flash player- what am I doing wrong ?

    Hi,
after a long period of inactivity due to serious health issues, I'm back on track and have created 3 new pages for my site ( www.innerspheresmusic.com).
On one of the new pages I'd like to install a flash player with one track. On my existing Audio page, there's a flash player which works really well in all browsers- thanks to the instructions in Roddy's iWeb for Musicians Ebook.
My way of working is to create the pages, *Publish to a Folder* in Documents, and check them in various browsers - via Safari/Develop/User Agent - before optimising and up loading with *Website Maestro*
However, although I've tried to embed the slimline version of the original player and because this didn't work, various other players from
    http://www.instantshift.com/2010/02/10/21-free-music-players-for-your-website/
+I couldn't get any of them to work after publishing to the folder. Then it occurred to me that there must be something basic I've forgotten and am doing wrong .................. any ideas ?+
I duplicated the existing player from Audio onto one of the new pages and it worked. So I then tried to change the code, to install the new song .......... and it didn't work.
I'd be so grateful to see the light !
    Thanks, SeaDream

Thanks - but what I've forgotten is how to get the flash player + audio files onto the server. By pasting the HTML code in the snippet box, thats part of it.
What I do to upload is to click on Publish in iWeb and then my FTP prgramme- WSM takes over. I click the *Optimise and Upload* button in WSM ........... and the iWeb pages do their own thing and mysteriously end up- much time later -on the web.
_Where is the music file supposed to actually 'be', so that it gets uploaded too ?_
I tried dragging it onto the page prior to uploading but then a Quicktime player wants to install itself.

  • I can't install flash player with a non-administrative user

    Hi,
in my job, we've just rebuild a server, with a clean Windows
2003 installation, all users are working with Terminal Server. The
problem is that we are unable to install Flash player in IE7 on a
user who have no administrative permissions but it works fine
firefox. It gives the following error (translate from spanish to
english ): "Error to copy Erma.inf. It's impossinle to copy this
    file to the destination folder".
So far, we give permissions to all users in
    C:\windows\system32\Macromed
    Any idea?
    Thanks for all
