Trying to install from CS-6 disc

I have an Adobe CS-6 disc, bought from a retailer, and when I try to install, it loads fine untill I get a demand to load an english language disc, which I do not have, nor need?? Or do I.... ? Serial # <removed by mod -kglad>
Product came in unopened box, original packaging from Adobe!!

I have reinstalled the CS-6 disc serial # <removed by mod - kglad> with no effect...
I get this message to reinstall after uninsyalling, which I have done... can I download a newer, better version from ADOBE?? i have paid GOOD MONEY for this product... help me out..

So when you put the disk in it won't run correctly? When the disk is inserted you should have a window pop up with 2 options. 1 to install and the other to see what is on the disk. Choose to explore or open the disk. Go to the CS4 folder where the photoshop .exe file is (that will run the setup), right click on the .exe file and choose run as Admin and it should start. See if it will install. If not then read below.
I am not sure how far you got in the install before so chances are you will have to run the CS4 cleanup utility. 2 levels to run at but don't use 1 or 2 just type in the number 3.

Before you try to reinstall the software ensure that adobe reader is not installed. If it is remove it. It has caused issues in the past with vista and CS4 installs.
Also turn off windows Defender and any anti-virus software. You can keep UAC on in Windows 7.
During the CS4 install at 90 percent it will almost stop and may take 5 to 10 mins to finish. This is normal. What a pain huh......
After install is finished, reboot
After reboot, go to the CS4 64 bit or 32 bit icon (depends on 32 or 64 bit Windows 7) in start area, right click on CS4 64 bit (if you have windows 7 64 bit) and choose properties, compatibility tab and then check run as Admin at the bottom area. Hit apply, ok to close out.
Now start CS4 and run the updater.

I received the verification code registered with a serial number etc.
However the installation keeps failing 'the installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.

This issue is now resolved. The program told me that it failed on installation repeatedly - but in fact it did eventually work when I opened the document from the app folder. I guess that is the elaborate rigormorle that adobe wants its customers to undergo but am happy it now works.

I'd like to use iPhoto '09 with Lion. Tried to install from time machine back-up no go. Tried to install from iLife '09 DVD no go.

I'd like to run iPhoto '09 on Lion. Tried to install on Lion from Time Machine backup. Got message iPhoto won't work because of a missing Library file. Tried to install iPhoto '09 from iLife '09 DVD. Got message that it cannot be installed on my system. iMovie runs previous versions and iTunes runs previous versions.
Why can't iPhoto run on Lion? My wife has over 10,000 photos in her library and she's taken the time to sort them into folders. I've recovered the library with the folder sort but have to use it on an external drive with a Snow Leopard system on it. The latest iPhoto ('11) has no provision for organizing into folders. I'd really like to have everything in one place with one OS (Lion) and two iPhoto apps '09 and '11 and I suppose 2 photo libraries. I tried to check the Library setup on iMovie and iTunes. The iMovie Libraries seem to be part of the applications and my iTunes applications have become Russian so I have another problem. I tried to install iPhoto '09 again from my iLife '09 disk. When I selected "Custom Install" to load iPhoto only, the box I got said " A later version of this application is already installed" The iPhoto item which I would choose for a custom install says "skip". Yesterday I ignored this and went on with an install. The final screen said "Installation Successful" There was no iPhoto '09 on my hard drive. As far as I can tell, you cannot load iPhoto '09 from a Time Machine backup. There is no Lion compatable iPhoto '09 in the App store, and iPhoto '09 will not install onto Lion from the iLife '09 disk.I don't understand exactly what you mean by "load my backup and convert again" Do you mean go to the app store and access my purchases and re- download iPhoto '11 and reinstall it and re-convert my iPhoto library? Installing from early system disc

I have an early Leopard disk, which my mac mini spits out after a quick examination. I have an up-to-date version of Leopard installed on an external drive and would like to install from my old Leopard disc -- which I paid for! -- COPYING all the elements from my current start-up disc... with the intention of upgrading the old Leopard as soon as I can start up from it. But I have to get at the original disc first, and for whatever reason it keeps getting spat out! (It works just fine in a Tiger machine.) Any thoughts on this? Thanks

and use your serial numbers aso. from your disk.
Maybe it's necessary to delete first all the rudiments from your former installations.

Why do I get the message "The installer requires admin priviledges to run" when trying to install from a DVD?

I am trying to install software from a DVD on my Mac Mini, When I click on the installer I get the message "The installer requires admin priviledges to run." I have admin priviledges when I look at the account info in Sytem Preferences. ANyone have an idea what to do about this?

It's a defective installer. If it needs elevated privileges to run, it should prompt for an administrator password. Since the installer is defective, you can assume that whatever it installs -- or would install, if it worked -- is also defective.

Trying to install from FTP from boot disk with wireless card

Well my card uses wlan-ng, but the bootdisk doesn't have that file. I also tried Prism54 (my card is a Netgear MA311 that is apparently a Prism 2)

I tried manually putting in the IP address, netmask, gateway, and DNS server, but I still have to put in the WEP key, but it doesn't ask me for the WEP key. So I'm sort of troubled here. I want to install from FTP so I can get updated packages much more easily. Thanks in advance. I promise, one day when I become a Linux genius, I will help out other newbies like me.

Do I understand you correctly? You have installed Arch and now wish to edit the grub config file, menu.lst, which is on an Ubuntu partition so that you can add your Arch install to it? Trying to install from disc

I have already
1 - switched off "fast boot"
2 - gone into the BIOS and changed the boot priority to have ODD first and HDD last
3 - turning off "secure boot"
But every time I reboot the laptop Windows starts up!
I dont have anything on the laptop in question I want to keep, I just want to get rid of Windows and install Linux to see what its like.
Laptop in question has Windows 8.1 (pre-installed when I bought it)

When I try to force to boot from the disk drive (hold F12) it comes up "Checking Media" [FAIL] and then boots Windows 8.1 again.
Does anyone know what I might be missing?

You may have to format the drive before it will boot and install properly, EUFI or W8 issue I don't know but I have had to format the drive on another computer before I could switch systems on W 8 machine hard drives.
It's because the GPT file system is in use.

Internal Error 2842 when trying to install from CD

I am running Windows 7 and had it corrupted recently. I reinstalled Win7 and had to reinstall all of my stuff. Everything works fine. When I went to reinstall my Palm Tungsten E2 from disc, I get 'Internal Error 2842' and can't continue.
Any ideas???

i found out how to fix it.....the error happens on windows vista 32 and 64 bit computers.... you can fix by going to your "command prompt" (found in accessories or just type in the search bar) and DONT CLICK. you have to first right click and pretty "Run as Administrator" and then a window will come up with stuff on top but the last few words should say "C:\Windows\System32>" and then type right after
"regsvr32 jscript.dll" and yes there is a space between
regsvr32 and jscript and hten simply press enter on your keyboard and run the install again

Trying to install windows 7, installation disc won't eject when it needs to. Help please?!?!?!

When setting up bootcamp I install windows 7, it then asks me to eject the installation disc to continue the installation but at this point the disc will NOT eject. Help please?!?!?!
If I cancel the installation it'll eject the disc but it is at this point that I need to in order to continue and it just won't eject. I've tried the eject button, cmd E, starting again but I don't seem to be getting anywhere :s

Have you tried the USB thumb drive W7 installer way? I know 10.7 has an option now for installing a W7 installer iso onto a USB thumb drive but I don't know if 10.6 does. Search Google/yahoo for more information. Basically just make an iso of the W7 installer and copy it to the USB drive and it will boot via USB.
At least I think yours can? Not sure which models work.
Have you tried one of those CD disk cleaners? I bought one years ago and worked like a charm. (if it's dirty) It has a row of real fine bristles.
Other then that you may have a dying drive?
As far as games, make sure they are updated to run W7, other then that, that's Windows for ya.....

After this, the cursor stops blinking and nothing else happens.
I am using UEFI, however I booted the disk using AHCI as well and got the same error, so I don't believe that its causing the problem.
I downloaded the ISO from the torrent link on the Arch downloads page, checked the "verify contents" box in Windows when I burned the disk, and tried burning the ISO on a different disk.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Expanding Aperture Set-Up advice; Also is itafe to drag Aperture 2 App to my new (2nd) boot drive in M Pro or best to re-install from original Aperture disc?

1) Both Boot drives in my M Pro are Leopard. Also same - drag or install question with respect to iPhoto, etc apps from the old boot's Applications folder or from the Applic'ns Install DVD... ?
2) Also, my overall plan is to retire the old boot drive soon, keep the 120 gb ssd lean, store recent libraries in other Mac Pro drives with external back-ups in form of 2 vaults per library plus 2 copies of masters, with 1 of each off-site; plus Time Machine in external for non-photo related. Have pretty close to 900 GB of photos, 700 GB of Libraries, all managed ( thinking I better do some serious deleting!) and double that in Vaults. After leaving a 20% margin, I'lll have 2 TB internal storage and 3.2 Tb in 1 good, new OWC external. It's been suggested I partition it in 3 sections: 1) Time Machine, 2) storage, 3) a bootable clone of the (boot drive?) here I'm out of my depth, as you probably already knew! I'd appreciate any advice at all, especially about the bewildering number of RAID solutions, and especially keeping cost in mind - wish I could afford the Maserati solution!

Just a short note on the installation:
Pro apps like Aperture cannot be installed by copying; you will have to run the installer from the original installation media, and I'd also install the iLife apps this way.
The answer to your question with respect to the best choice of disks I'll leave to our hardware experts; if you browse this forum you will find some recent discussions on the best disk solution to be used with Aperture.
One thought so. You are planning to partition your drive to use to partitions for backup: Time Machine and clone. This will allow you to restore your images in case of accidental deletion or other software errors, but it will not help, if your drive fails - and drives will fail some day. It would give you a much better protection, if your backups were on separate drives.

My power mac g5 wont install from the installation disc.

I really need help., Sorry, I am very new with mac computers. So sorry for my lack of knowledge/terms. My friend gave me her mac. She told me if i fix i can have it. Here is the problem...The power mac g5 starts up with the question mark folder thing. When I put in the installion disc in and hold down c, It has the apple logo and it gets stuck there forever. Then fan gets really loud.I recently put new ram in if that helps.

That should be the wrong Disc...
