It is possible depending on the licensing agreement our Sales team may generate expiring serial numbers.  This can be done for trade demos and I have also seen this occur with educational licenses.  As KGlad mentioned please contact our support team and they can verify if the serial number is expired or not.
You may also want to contact the administrators of your Adobe Creative software licenses to see if they have a new serial number for you to utilize.

  • Problems installing Illustrator and Indesign from CS3 suite

I am trying to install Illustrator and Indesign from CS3 suite.  Previously I had been running a trial version on my Mac, and now am trying to install the suite from the original install discs.  I have gone through the process of uninstalling all of the Adobe programs and then reinstalling.  When the install disc loads up and I get to the point where it lists the programs to install, in the top box Illustrator and Indesign are listed as already being installed and have no option to install them.  When I search my computer there are no Illustrator or Indesign applications.  I am able to reinstall the rest of the suite and it seems to work fine but can't seem to figure out what step I'm missing as far as reinstalling Illustrator and Indesign are concerned.

I haven't tried doing it on Vista but I would recommend looking for
Adobe clean up programs.  The problem I had was that the computer had
a trial version and then I tried to install the full version and it
wouldn't let me install illustrator because there were some random
illustrator files that conflicted with the installation process.  I
ran clean up program and it removed all adobe files.  Then I
reinstalled photoshop.  Before you start running clean up programs
make sure you back everything up.  Good luck

Hold the Option key down and restart. Select one of the drives that comes up and hit the Return key.

  • I'm trying to install iOS 5.0 but getting message that my computer does not have sufficient space to backup my iPad; continuing will result in loss of all media on iPad. I was going to install iCloud but it seems that you have to have iOS 5.0, help?

i'm trying to install iOS 5.0 but getting message that my computer does not have enough space to backup my iPad and continuing will result in loss of all media on iPad.  an option seemed to be backing up on iCloud, but i think you have to have iOS 5.0 to install iCloud.
how do i install iOS 5.0 without losing anything on my iPad?

If you really do not have enough space on your HDD for a backup of your iPad, you do not have enough space at all. Free up at least 15% of your HDD, in any case more than 0.8GB for the iPad update.
Make backups on an external disk.
After freeing up enough space, try again.

  • I receive error messages after installing Illustrator and InDesign

Before today, I spent 3 days downloading the trial programs for Design & Web Premium CS6:
Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Audition, Bridge, DreamWeaver, ExtendScript Toolkit, Extension
Manager, FireWorks, Media Encoder, Muse, Prelude, Widget Browser, Flash Builder 4.7, Flash Professional and Media Encoder. (This is all through my online classes, and I do have a serial number that was sent to me, but no CDs.)
I used Adobe Application Manager to install them.
Everything downloaded and installed fine on my main computer (running Windows 7), but on my older,
slower, backup computer (running Win XP) I encountered problems.
I have DSL (the lowest speed, 1.5), Win XP (32 bit) SP2, 28.6 GB capacity hard drive.
Used space (after the downloads): 17.2 GB (61%)
    Free Space: 11.4 GB (39%)
Downloading the trial on my Win XP computer gave several errors, and I had to re-install and/or update (at first it would say 'Try,' but then after that was done, some of them would say 'Update') most of the programs several times before they finally all seemed to fully download OK. For one of the programs, it gave an error saying there was not enough hard drive space. So then I deleted a few programs from my hard drive. But all the other programs gave different errors, which would say that they installed, but that there were problems, or that they could not install, etc.
But, after downloading everything, and everything seeming to be OK, when I tried to open Photoshop CS6 (trial version), it said:
Photoshop.exe - Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point GetLogicalProcessorInformation could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll.
(And it had the red circle with the white "X" inside it.)
I then tried to open Illustrator, and it said:
    "Illustrator.exe - Application Error
The application failed to initialize properly (0xc000001d).
Click on OK to terminate the application."
I then tried to open InDesign and it gave the same error as Illustrator.
So then I ran all my anti-virus, anti-spyware and diagnostic software to see if there were any viruses or spyware or malware found. Nothing was found except some tracking cookies.
Then I uninstalled all the Adobe software, which took a while.
Then I used Adobe Application Manager to only download Photoshop. It seemed to download and install, but finally it said, “Installation completed though some optional components fail to install correctly.” This is one of the errors I had gotten previously. When I clicked to see more info about the error, it said to either find a certain file, which I could not find because it looked like some of the files it mentioned were invisible files, or it gave another option, to download Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86).
So I went to Microsoft’s website and downloaded that. But when I tried to install it, it said I needed to install Windows Installer 3.1 or higher. So I went to that website and downloaded that (the downloaded installation file was called WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.exe. So I installed that.
Then I went back and tried to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86) again (that installation file is called vcredist_x86.exe). After it extracted the file, it said, “Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x86 Redistributable Setup: (red circle with white “X” inside) “Setup has detected that this computer does not meet the requirements to install this software. The following blocking issues must be resolved before you can install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x86 Redistributable Setup software package.” “Please resolve the following: A newer version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable has been detected on the machine.” Then at the bottom of the error window, it said: “Please, see the Microsoft Visual Studio website for more information.” Then it only had a “Close” button.
I went to the Microsoft Visual Studio website, but I’m not sure what to do. It has an Office Developer Tools for Visual Studio 2012 (“Now you can create rich, immersive apps for Office 2013, SharePoint 2013, and Office 365.”) with a “Download Now” button, but that does not sound to me like what I need.
I saw, on one Adobe site, a suggestion to go to the Adobe Creative Cloud website and download the software from there (which I noticed also used the Adobe Application Manager). So I did that for Photoshop, and after it installed and updated, it gave me the same error: “The procedure entry point GetLogicalProcessorInformation could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll.”
As of Friday March 29, I have been working on downloading and installing the software for FOUR (4) days now without success, and it is just so frustrating because it is taking so much time and effort.

Branching this to a new discussion as it appear you are facing difficulties with the installation or running the programs you have been downloading and installing.

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp. Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • My mac pro crashed. Apple genius people said to reinstall snow leopard. I did and it failed to start after i installed. I started with the power button, tried to install upgrades, and now I get only a grey screen with spining wheel.

How can I restart a mac pro that shows only a grey screen with a spinning wheel. I reinstalled snow leopard (10.6.3) over 10.6.8 because apple genious people said I had problems with my library files after a time capsule crash. I reinstalled but when done I got only a blue screen. I restarted with the power button and tried to insall 10.6 combined upgrades. I got an error message that it could not install because of an error. When I powered down and tried to restart, I get only a grey screen. My optical drive does not open so I can't restart from another source.

Restart, holding down the mouse button. That should eject the disc. Zap the PRAM and Reset the SMC.  Then, pop in the install disc, restart with it in again, select your language, and, when the menu bar pops up, select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. select the boot volume and repair the disk.

  • My MacBook Pro can no longer read/play/do anything with DVDs. I tried re-installing OS and Leopard but discs are rejected almost as soon as I put them in. For some reason my computer is rejecting any and all DVDs.

A few weeks ago I noticed my MacBook Pro was unable to open or read, etc... DVDs. This included DVDs with jpeg photos on them and DVD videos. I thought I might have deleted something necessary to DVD use. So I tried to re-install OS software. This included Snow Leopard and the original two Mac OS X discs. None would open or play or install. All were spit out of computer soon after I stuck them in.
So now what can I do? Thank you.

Do you recommend the canned air
It works just as well as the regular cleaning discs works.  The only disadvantage is that you will need to keep purchasing canned air once it runs out.  Cleaning discs last forever or until the tiny bristles on the disc wears out.  Whichever comes first.
Any store that sells cds & dvds will also sell disc cleaners.  Prices vary but they all do the same thing - clean your slot drive.

  • I'm trying to install bootcamp and XP, but when keyboard does't work. How can I eject the disc?

How can I eject the disc and start over and get into the OSX system?

XP isn't supported in BootCamp, you'll have to use the free VirualBox or one of the other commercial virtual machine softwares to run it in a window on OS X. The performance isn't going to be good enough for 3D games or heavy CPU ones, but good enought for most general use software.
Apple doesn't supply the hybrid MBR and hardware drivers required to run XP in BootCamp any longer. If you were on Snow Leopard 10.6 it's still possible, but not Lion or Mountain Lion.
This is what you do to resolve your problem.
1: Hold the power button down to force a hardware shutdown (emergency use only use the Apple Menu > shutdown all other times)
2: Press and hold the option/alt key on the keyboard.
3: Boot the computer and enter Startup Manager
4: Keep pressing the eject key on the keyboard, the disk will eject.
5: Select OS X to boot from by clicking on the volume and the little arrow that appears.
6: Set Startup Disk in System Preferences  to OS X.
7: Head to BootCamp Utility and use it to remove the BootCamp partition.
8: If you used Disk Utility, then use that to remove the second partition and absorb the remaining space back into the OS X partition.
9: Install VirtualBox, if on 10.8 you migh have to control/right click and "Open" to bypass Gatekeeper controls for the installer and/or program at least once.
10: Read the instructions how to setup and use VirtualBox.
