Trying to install iOS 7.0.3 on IPad but fails every time.  Tried more than one WiFi

Any suggestions

The update starts to install showing that the download will take about 1 minute.  Then switches to preparing update.  When almost complete there is a pop up that says update failed.
Have tried resetting by holding the home and power buttons.

  • HT4623 I am trying to install iOS 5.1 on my iPad, but when I go to 'Settings' and then to 'General' the link 'Software update' is not visible. Any advice welcome.

I am trying to install iOs 5.1 on myiPad but when I go to 'General' to 'Settings' the link 'Software update' is not visible. Any advice would be welcome.

This feature is only available on iOS 5 or later.  You must still be running iOS 4.  Connect your iPad to the computer you usually sync with and run iTunes software update.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
Only developers have legal access to iOS 6 right now, if you really, really wanted it you could sign on as a developer for $99.

  • HT4623 ios7.0.6 fails every time trying to update now what?

ios7.0.6 fails every time trying to update now what?

Are you updating over wi-fi, or cellular data?  Or through iTunes. If you get the mesaage that the update is not available . Make sure you have the correct date and time on you phone. then try again.

  • Updated to iOS 5.1 and my iPad 2 reboots every time I edit a photo in photos.

I screen shot something and I wanted to crop something out in photos but when I tapped edit, it reboot my iPad. When it turned on again, and I repeated the process, it reboot again. I closes all the running apps and manually reset the iPad but nothing changed. Is it a bug in iOS 5.1?

    Andy-
I just tried it and it worked OK on my iPad 2 with iOS 5.1.
I've read that other weird problems with 5.1 were cured by going to Settings-General-Reset-Reset All Settings.
You might also try resetting (rebooting) by holding both the Home and Sleep buttons for several seconds until the Apple logo appears.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" arrow.  The iPad will restart after a couple of minutes.  Resetting this way will not hurt anything, and sometimes clears up mysterious problems.

  • HT4623 When trying to install iOS 7.06 on my iPad I keep getting message that update failed. What do I do now?

I'm trying to update my iPad2 to iOS 7.06. In  Settings it says there is an update. As far as I can tell the download completes although it seems to download slowly. But I always get a message saying installation has failed. Any ideas on what to do next? Thanks.

I strongly suggest using the instructions provided in the "Update your device using iTunes" section of the HT4623 article you attached above.

  • I am trying to convert three older PDFs to DocX.  They fail every time, message is "too complex"

This is really disappointing.  Expected that the files would need work after conversion (they're older files, with many pages), but can't get out of the starting gates.  Please help!

    Hi Derek,
It sounds like the 'old' files you describe were originally scans, is that correct? Are there splotches and dots on the images?
If so - I would recommend you try using our 30 day free trial of Acrobat XI Pro. This may help with the conversion...
Looking forward to hearing back from you!

  • Trying to install iOS 7.1.2 error message coming up

TRying to install iOS 7.1.2 to iPad error message coming so won't install

Just to make sure are you connected to WiFi?
    Try a reset:
    - Hold the home button and sleep/wake button down at the same time. When the Apple logo appears release both buttons.
If issue remains try another WiFi network. Alternatively you can try the steps below to update with iTunes on a computer:
First back up: iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
Then Update iOS with iTunes: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  • How do i get my iphone 5 out of recovery mode after trying to install ios 7

Alright, so i tried to install ios 7 and i got an error saying that the ios 7 update got a problem and so then my phone went into recovery mode. i installed tiny umbrella to get it out of recovery and it worked, so then i tried to install ios 7 again and it got another error this time my phone had already been switched to the ios 7 format but was not completely done, so my phone went into recovery mode again. so i tried tiny umbrella again and it just kept going back to recovery mode. i tried to restore my phone after trying to look for another way to get my phone out of recovery mode and i got nothing so i decided to restore my phone and i then get another freaking error saying that itunes could not restore due to a problem, then i just decided to try tiny umbrella one last time and it didnt work. so i tried to restore again but now my phone is not being detected on itunes so i cant do anything, and my phone is stuck in recovery mode... all i was trying to do is get the new update and now my phone is dead, it wont do anything please help!!

Use tinyumbrella. Connect your iphone, click on the random string of numbers that appears in the recover devices window, and click "exit recovery". That solved my problem, and it may solve yours. Give it a shot.

  • Unable to install iOS 8.3 on my iPad Air

Trying to install iOS 8.3 on my iPad and it doesn't upgrade. Went to settings, then General, then clicked on software update. Answered the terms & conditions to "agree" and Install Now. Nothing happens, it just goes back to the app icons. Any Ideas?

Close all apps on your iPad, reset the iPad, and then try again.
In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
In order to reset your iPad, hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen after which time you can release the buttons and let the iPad start up.

  • Some apps stay open when trying to close more than one app at a time in ios 7

I tried closing down 2 or 3 app at a time in IOS7 and there's always one or two that stay open. The icon at the bottom is still there but I've already swiped it up to close it. When I go out of the closing function and come back I see that they are still open and I need to close them again. I tried this on many ipads, iPhones and ipod touch and they all act the same way.
    Chris

I guess you didn't know, but yes you can close more than one app at a time. You can close up to 3 apps at a time in the new IOS7 on the iPhone. Try opening at least 3 apps and then double click the main button to see what apps are opened. Then swipe to the left to see the three of them on your screen. Your not gonna see the ones on the side entirely but you can still put all three fingers on them, then simply swipe them up and it closes them up.
The thing is, when you have let say 10 apps open, and you start using this trick, some of them will stay open meaning you swiped them up to close them down but the bottom icon stays there. When you come back to your main IOS desktop and then go back to close the programs that you have opened, you can see that those apps are still opened. There is only like 2 or three out of all the 10 you had opened that stayed open, but none the less it's a bug in the system I presume.
You also asked about the icon at the bottom. When you are seeing what apps are opened, there is always a small icon at the bottom and on top you have a representation of what you were working on, and that is the part you swipe up. But often time the bottom icon will stay opened after swiping 2 or 3 of the apps to close them.

  • When in safari how can i have more than one window open?? New ios doesnt allow it.

Problem is when i updated to the newest ios 7. The dang thing doesnt allow me to have more than one window open at any time. This only makes things repetitive, complicated and slow. Moreover, the icons and overall view are probably designed to be in a kindergarden game, cos they look really stupid on iPad, whos gonna take apple seriously with this so called "improvements". If anyone knows how to open more than one window at at atime i,ll be really grateful to be told. Or if anyone can tell me how to uninstall the friking update i,ll be even more grateful. Thanx guys.

Until a few weeks ago I have never had a problem opening more than one pdf at a time. Now Reader just shuts down when I try to do so. The same thing happens when I click on the yellow highlighted categories in settings. All the other categories open fine.
