Trying to install Lightroom on a iMac, iOS 10.9.5, launching the program is unsuccessful, results in a crash report
After installing LR5, I try to launch the program but I receive a message saying LR5 has unexpectedly quit. Anyone who can help with this issue?
This is part of the crash report:
Application Specific Information:
*** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'LuaRunException', reason: 'AgPathUtils.getStandardFilePath: can't create directory at: /Users/kjetilstubbberud/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom'
terminating with uncaught exception of type NSException
abort() called
while I can download it I cannot install it.
What happens when you try? How much free space do you have on your boot drive? In preparation to installation I booted into Maverick's Recovery volume and repaired both the disk permissions and disk. Then I ran the Yosemite installer. Give that a try and see if it helps.

I bought Lightroom 3 or 4, can't remember which, as an online download. I then upgraded to 5 with a CD. I registered the upgrade on my Adobe account and that's where the serial number is. I just bought a new iMac and am trying to install Lightroom. The system is asking for my original serial number which I don't have. The point is. If I have the upgrade registered with my Adobe account, shouldn't that be proof that an earlier version was on my computer??? I'm really stuck. Need some advice! Thanks
LindaHi John,
Thanks for your response, but if you read my first mail, it's the original serial number that I don't have. I bought the original LR as download and have misplaced the serial number. Is there any way to find it???

I am trying to install Lightroom and I am OK until it asks for a serial number. I purchased Lightroom from B&H and the have entered the seal number on the the B&H invoice. Nothing happens, not all the entry boxes are filled with the serial number that was provided by B&H. I looked for a serial number on and in the box it came in, nada. Need a bit of help here, what can I do?

Receive error 21 when trying to install lightroom cc 2015 using creative cloud
On trying to install Lightroom CC 2015 using Creative Cloud I receive error 21. Any ideas what to do??
I have the exact same issue. I had a trial of Lightroom 5 installed, and whenever I then tried to install Lightroom CC (2015) it would fail at 42% with an error 21. Logging out and back in of CC desktop got it to install successfully and then Lightroom 5 was marked as "Start Trail" again.
Now though, whenever I try to start Lightroom CC (2015) it shows the start splash screen and then closes straight away and doesn't start. The "Continue Trial/Purchase License" screen then appears, and closing that out does nothing.
I've tried logging out and back in to CC desktop, and restarting, but neither option fixes the issue. I even tried logging out, restarting then logging back in again. Still no joy.
As a side note: Lightroom 5 in CC desktop doesn't show an uninstall option - it says "Uninstall Unavailable". Both Photoshop CC and Lightroom CC do allow for an uninstall option though.

Hi. I'm trying to install Lightroom 4 but it's not downloading. Lightroom 5 won't work.
You can try downloading Light room 4 from here:
http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-lightroom-4-is-out.html
Prior to install, do ensure that the machine is compatible & the machine has all the permission to download & install.

Trying to install Lightroom 5 with CC but getting error code 5 on initial startup of Lightroom. Have uninstalled all adobe products including Creative Cloud CC.
Followed the instructions on the forum by using the CC Cleaner App for OSX. Have restarted a number of times and even tried using disk utility to fix any permission probs. Still no luck.
The problem started happening from upgrading the previous version of Lightroom to the most up to date version. Im hoping someone can help me with any ideas. Thanks heaps.Ended up fixing the problem after finding no answers. Deleted the following file

i tried to install an update of my ios via itunes and my phone was totally cleared. right now im trying to activate it again, its not working. what can i do?
You will need to restore the software via the following procedure:
Turn your device off and connect your cable to the computer, but not the device just yet. Start up iTunes. Now, hold down the home button on your device and plug it in to the cable - don't let go of the button until iTunes tells you it's detected a device in recovery mode. Now you can restore to factory settings. -

Anyone see this error on trying to install Lightroom 6?
This is what I get when trying to install Lightroom 6, either as a stand-alone product or Lightroom CC as part of my CC membership.
Exit Code: 7
Please see specific errors below for troubleshooting. For example, ERROR: DF024 ...
-------------------------------------- Summary --------------------------------------
- 0 fatal error(s), 1 error(s)
----------- Payload: Adobe Lightroom 6.0.0.0 {8048A5DF-8A70-5BE1-954B-E0FDE1BD0D0D} -----------
ERROR: DF024: Unable to preserve original file at "/Applications/Adobe Lightroom/Adobe Lightroom.app/Contents/Resources/library_window.nib" (Seq 9473)
Can't seem to find this error -- let alone suggested solutions -- anywhere in the Knowledgebase.Perhaps I wasn't clear. I wasn't trying to install both. Either one would do, but neither one would install, both generating the same error. There is no uninstaller for Lightroom 6 or CC, because neither one installed. I tried the CC version first, and when that failed to install because of the above error DF024, I downloaded the 6 version and tried to install that. Same result -- nada -- same error code. I've done all the usual attempts at fixing the problem. Signed out an in of CC, rebuilt disk directory with Disk Warrior, run Apple repair disk, cleaned out all the caches, etc. Still won't install. Did a Safe Boot -- still won't install.
The next step is to reinstall the Yosemite OS (its a Mac), but I'm trying to find out if there is an easier solution, because if that doesn't work, I'll have to go through the PITA of reformatting the whole disk and restoring it, which I'm trying to avoid. -
I am trying to install Lightroom 5 with a software download card. I get as far as entering the redemption code, receiving the serial number, then when I click download, nothing happens... Now what?
