Trying to install older version of Opera from opera site, error

I am trying 9.64 which I downloaded from opera.com (Arch version and "Default package"). I ran install.sh as root, it installs to defaults dirs, and I keep getting this everytime I run the opera binary:
└─> opera
/usr/bin/opera: line 240: /usr/lib/opera/9.64/opera: cannot execute binary file
/usr/bin/opera: line 240: /usr/lib/opera/9.64/opera: Success
The line 240 is the last line of the opera binary and it shows:
# Running Opera
exec "${OPERA_BINARYDIR}opera" "$@"
Thanks for any help

karol wrote:Is OPERA_BINARYDIR set? Is it a script variable or environmental one?
To see whether it's a script variable, search for OPERA_BINARYDIR inside the opera binary.
To see whether it's an environmental variable, run `env` at the Terminal and see if it shows up.  You can find it using `env | grep OPERA_BINARYDIR`.

  • Application Manager trying to install older version of Ai

Just installed CS5 and then opened InDesign to check for updates. Adobe Application Manager shows all Apps that have updates. Downloaded and installed all listed EXCEPT the Manager says there was a problem with Illustrator. Restarted computer and relaunched InDesign and Updates. Application Manager says there is a download/update for Illustrator CS5. Listed "update available" is 15.0.2. Opened Illustrator CS5 and checked current version - 15.1.0!!
Application Manager is trying to install an older version of Illustrator???
    Suggestions??  Comments??

d2c for questions regarding updates to the application I would recommend posting to the Adobe Illustrator forum.  The users there will be more familiar with issues which are application specific.

  • Tried to install new version of itunes and getting r6034 error code

This morning I tried to download and install iTunes Version 11.1.4.  I'm getting a R6034 error code RUNTIME ERROR when I go to the "install" phase.  I've already de-installed my old version so I know I've not got any files kicking around.  I even went as far as purchsing PC CLEANER PRO to try to fix the R6034 error code and it's not solving it.  I have the new version sitting in download mode but I'm not able to install it. I get part way through the install and the error code window pops up again.  Any suggestions?

The third party cleaner may have been a bad move... It might make the following harder.
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

  • Trying to install new version of software from the Mac App Store

My iMac is running OS X 10.6.8
I purchase a copy of Swift Publisher 3.0.1 back in June of 2012.
I paid $19.99 U.S.D for this upgrade, then.
I just went to the Mac App Store to download a more recent version ( ver 3.5.5).
It is not coming up in the Mac App Store as an Update and appears as if I will pay another $19.99.
Is this what will happen? There is no indication on BeLight's web page about any update charges to any 3.x.x version of Swift Publiser,
When I click the buy button, it looks as though I am going to be charged for this, again. Nothing appears as an indication that this is just an update.
    WHat will happen?

    I solved it.
I, originally, download and installed the software under the Mac App Store when I was using OS X Mavericks.
I was getting all sorts of error messages from the Mac App Store under Snow Leopard.
I simply copied that version to my working OS X Snow Leopard disc and it is working fine, now.
Thank goodness for having multiple backups on three drives!
Whoo! Spent a good chunk of the day trying to figure this one out!

  • Trying to install older version of itunes

    Hi there,
I downloaded the newest iTunes 7.3 (god knows why) and when i was halfway through installling it, it tells me my o/s is too old and it can't install.
So i deleted all the 7.3 software stuff, and downloaded 7.2 to install.
When i get to the "installation type" of the installation process, a notice pops up that says "You cannot continue. There is nothing to install."
Whenever I click on iTunes, a big questionmark appears on it.
I'm absoltuely baffled. I downloaded shapeshifter even though I'm not sure what it is, so i could add Itunes to the exclude list, but itunes isn't on the list of things i can exclude because its not there.
Any tips or help at all would be very glady appreciated, I'm so confused!

Delete the receipts relating to iTunes 7.2 and 7.3 from the /Library/Receipts/ folder; if the issue persists, use Pacifist to install iTunes 7.2.

  • Unable To Install --  Older Version -- of FLASH

    Hi,
I have latest version of FLASH Player in my system( Windows 7 ). But due to some reason I have to install Older verion of Flash in my system.
But when I am trying to install older version I am getting error message saying "Newer Version is available please visit http:// .... ".
Please let me know how can I install older Version of Flash.
    Thanks
    Mayank

I haven't done this in Windows 7, only XP, but I imagine something similar will work....
    Here is the uninstaller: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
Here are the instructions for "safe uninstall": http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/402/kb402435.html
And here are the archived players: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html
Also I think there was something about using a "/clean" switch after the uninstall command.
It was a little while ago, so there might be newer versions out there....

So I just bought a used MacBook from Amazon with OSX 10.5.8.  I am trying to install new software and operating system, but I don't have the passwords to the Users set up in the computer.  What do I do?

Put your install DVD into the optical drive (CD/DVD drive) and reboot. Be sure to either use the disc that came with your Mac, or, if you installed a later Mac OS X version from disc, use the newer disc. As soon as you hear the boot chime, hold down the "c" key on your keyboard (or the Option Key until the Install Disk shows up) until the apple shows up. That will force your MacBook to boot from the install DVD in the optical drive.
When it does start up, you'll see a panel asking you to choose your language. Choose your language and press the Return key on your keyboard once. It will then present you with an Installation window. Completely ignore this window and click on Utilities in the top menu and scroll down to Reset Password. After resetting the password use Startup Disk from the same menu to choose your hard drive for startup and restart.

  • Problem Installing older version of Adobe Flash Player Activixe (example vers.10 to 9)?

Hello everyone, I have the problem that I do not know how to install an older version of Flash ActiveX, since trying to install version 9, or even 10.0
.45, the error that comes out is not a recent version, and does not allow you to continue with the installation, prompting you to go to the site and download the latest one.
The Flash Player Plugin installed, but only with that will not start the program that I want to start ..
Before you install and uninstall the previous version of the ActiveX plugin, make sure there is no file flash.ocx (which are usually in C: windows/system32/macromed/flash), disconnect the computer from the Internet, all gate installation files of the most recent flash, everything from the pc, temporary reboot, install the older version but I always leave that mistake, I can not install older versions of Flash.
I have to install older versions of flash10 eun to start the program, but I can not continue. Someone can suggest how to install a previous version of flash blessed ..?
Thank you all, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year ... a little early.: (
See if you can figure out how do they install?
    Giorg

Before installing an older FP version you must completely uninstall your current version.
    download the unistaller from http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
close all browser windows and run the downloaded uninstaller
    restart Windows
delete any remaining files in C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash or C:\Windows\syswow64\Macromed\Flash (64-bit)
    install the old FP version
P.S. why do you want to install an old Flash Player?

  • How to install older versions of Flash Player(ActiveX) in Win 8?

    Hello all,
How to install older version of Flash Player in Windows 8? and how to uninstall default Flash Player that come from IE10 in Windows 8?
Actually I want to install Adobe_Flash_Player_(IE)_v11.7.700.224.exe in Windows 8.
Is it possible to overcome this issue? If it is not, could you share me your information on this issue?
    Thanks in advance.
    RK.

    Thank you for reply..
Actually i uninstalled the existing version of Flash Player from my Windows 8 PC, but when i tried to install the older version, it was not allowing me to install and was showing that my browser is included with latest version.
Even i followed the below given websites, it didn't given any remedy for it.
    http://flash-focus.blogspot.in/2007/03/installing-previous-versions-of-flash.html
    http://www.itsecdb.com/oval/objectdetails/oval/org.mitre.oval/obj/7075/windows-registry_ob ject-Registry-that-holds-the-version-of-the-Adobe-Flash-Player-in/
So that my PC is restricting the older version installation from somewhere which holds the version information and that user cannot modify/delete that information. If i know that mystery i can install any version of Flash Player in my Windows 8.
I hope i will find this.
    Thanks for your support.

Trying to Install latest version of Quicktime, Can't because of Quicktime X. It says to get it done in software update but currently I do not (and will not) have asscess to network for a while.

    skippertech wrote:
I want to install Quicktime 7, I already have the file, can I somehow delete quicktime X?
I'm not sure of how safe it would be to uninstall QuickTime X. If you want to stop the system from using it right-click any file which it would normally open, under the "Open With" menu select "Other...", search for Quick Time 7 or whichever program you want to use, check the "Always Open With" option and you're done.
