Trying to install photoshop2 for message indicating not enough space on Mac HD

The cd does not install when I have plenty go space

What version of OS X is your iMac running.
If your OS X version is OS X 10.7 Lion or 10.8 Mountain Lion, Paintshop 2 will NOT be able to be installed because this version is an older version that ran on older PowerPC Macs. The code that was needed to run this on newer Intel Macs was part of OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard only. This was PowerPC code emulator called Rosetta.
This software no longer exists under OS X 10.7 or 10.8, so there is no way to install and run this software.
You would need to upgrade this software to run under newer versions of OS X or find new alternatives that run under your current OS X version.

How big is your HD, and how much free space on it?

  • Just downloaded mountain lion but it told me not enough space on Mac HD. What do i do?

I just downloaded mountain lion and it told me that I have to pick a disk to put it on. There is not enough space on Mac HD because apparently time machine backs up on there. What do I do? Can I back that up somewhere else?

HOw much avaiable space do you have on that volume?
Do you have a partition for TM, or are these local snapshots (is it a MacBook or MacBook pro)?
Either way you'll need to free up space by moving data off the drive.

  • Trying to install drivers for my scanner, not working

I'm trying to install drivers for a canon scanner, it's not working. I ownloaded them from the canon website and they are for Mac OS 9, would they still work? or do i really have to get a new scanner?

    Hi Anna
Which model of scanner is it? Have you checked thoroughly to see whether OS X drivers exist?

  • HT201317 I have over 300 photos and 87 videos on my iphone 5.  each time I plug in for battery I get a message saying not enough space, need to buy more, so I did yesterday.  While attempting to do icloud storage again it said would take 83 hours.

I have over 300 photos and 87 videos. When I recharge the battery I am geting the message to buy more storage to because not enough icloud space.  So I did yesterday.  That went ok, but the new message tells me it will take 83 hours.  Perplexed I went thru the settings and turned off apps and their data that I didn't realize where on.  Now I'm not sure if I needed to purchase more storage but it is still taking forever to complete the task.  Am I on the right track with this, meaning will take forever to store all my photos or what ?  The only other item I have on to store is contacts.  Can you assist me ?  Thanks - emoslim

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
The first back up to iCloud may take some considerable time. Just how long isn't really possible to say without knowing how much is in your back up and your connection speed.
What many people don't realise is that upload speeds are often significantly less than download speeds, so for example a user may have a download speed of 40 Mbps, but only 1 Mbps for uploading. As a rough guide it will take around 2 ¼ hours to upload 1 GB of data at 1 Mbps.

  • TS1702 trying to upload apps but it says not enough space can we purchase more space from ICloud or something or do we need to delete some things on the IPod to make more room?

we are trying to sync apps, music etc. to my IPod touch but it is saying there is not enough room to upload the apps etc. from our ITunes library on my PC.  Are we able to purchase more space for example on ICLOUD for more storage or do we need to delete some of the items so there is enough room for the things we really want.
Also, if we do need to delete some of the stuff now on IPod touch, how do I find out how much space is used up by each item so we can delete necessary items to make enough space?
    Thank you,
    Kellyfunpass

You need to delete some items from the iPod. After you install the app you can redownload then as storage space allows, by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
To download and install an app you need storage available equal to about three times the file download size.

  • Trying to restore iPhoto library from TimeMachine - "not enough space" even though there is

Hi all, I'm trying to restore my iPhoto library from the timemachine backup which is roughly 200gb in size.
Timemachine is on an external hard drive, of course.
Main laptop hard drive has roughly 408gb left. Whenever I try to restore the 200gb iPhoto library backup from timemachine, it says I don't have enough disk space... I am so frustrated.. I don't want to lose all my photos from the past 5 years ..
    Please help.
I am using the newest Lion, everything is updated.

moving stuff to trash doesn't remove it from a drive. It puts it in a hidden .Trash folder on that drive. you have to empty trash to reclaim space. even easier would be to reformat the drive if you have a lot of stuff to erase.

  • My computer won't let me install a program.  Says not enough memory although I have 70 GB available

My computer won't let me install a program.  Says not enough space available when in fact it has 70 GB available.  It selects Macintosh HD as the destination.  It will not let me navigate to the Applications folder.

    - Exactly what are you doing? You saying you are trying to syn it to new comnputer. When yuo sync it to a new computer iTunes will erase the iPod and replace its contents with what is i the iTunes library of the new computer.

  • Need to upgrade OS, but not enough space on HD

I just exported a ton of photos to an external hard drive, thinking that was the bulk of my files taking up space on my hard drive.  I need to upgrade to OS 10.6.3 (I have 10.5.8 right now), but when I try and install, it says there's not enough space.
When I click on my hard drive, it says that there's a capacity of 74.21 GB with an available space of 3.28 GB.  How do I find out what files or applications are taking up the most space?  What are the most likely offenders?  I really thought cleaning up photos was going to fix the issue, but it didn't go up in free space at all!
    Thank you for your help!

Download and use OmniDiskSweeper. It will tell you the files and folders that are using the most space.
With only 3 GB of free space, your system is severely short of free space. Your free space should be at least 10 GB.
Once you increase your free space and before you do any upgrade be sure to repair your disk. With the free space run so low there is every chances that the disk is now corrupt. Doing an upgrade with a corrupt disk is a sure way to have problems after the upgrade.
Also it is necessary to backup before you do the upgrade.

  • Not enough space on itunes?

I am trying to copy my music library (24gb) from external hard drive to my c drive on laptop, and get error message saying not enough space on i tunes?..can anyone help?

Spencer, can you clarify what you are doing?  Copying files from one drive to another does not even require iTunes to be open, so it is not clear how you are getting that error message.

  • Time machine stopped backing up due to not enough space.  What to do?

On my MacBook time machine stopped backing up and the message said not enough space .  What can I do?

Broadly speaking you can supply more space.. or delete the old backups to regain existing space.
You have posted in the TIme Capsule area.. but I am not sure if that is what you are using as people mix up Time Capsule (TC) and Time Machine (TM) on a regular basis. TC  is hardware router with a disk in it for backups to be stored.. TM is the software on the Mac that does backups.
So TC is not exactly flexible.. but you can add a USB hard disk to it.
This is not always a great idea.. but can work for people using wireless which is slower even than USB.
The internal disk of the TC can be upgraded.. only do this if you accept the risk and most likely it is no longer under warranty.
You can buy a TC with a bigger hard disk and sell off the old one.. except you might already have 3TB one in which case you will need to run two.
You can use a local drive instead of a network drive.
So buy a USB drive and plug it into your computer.. this is a good solution for desktops.. less great for laptops which are carried around as you forget to backup.
    OR
Wipe the current backups and start anew.. You can also archive the old backups wipe the existing disk and start over.
Tell us which you prefer and if it is more difficult than go and buy a new disk and plug it in tell us.

Do you have any items in the delete items? If not check with your IT and see if any changes to the server was made or what could be causing this problem.

I am trying to install itunes for my mobile, and I keep getting the message "You do not have administrator rights, please contact the system administrator to preform an update."  I have it set as adminstrator as the user. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate. Help please?

Thanks, but I've done that several times & it still says I need administraive privileges. I had itunes installed with no problems until I did the latest update. After that it just disappeared, so I tried reinstalling. Now I can't sync my phone. This is so frustrating!
