Trying to install Win7 but keyboard and mouse dead

I just installed Boot Camp and in the process of installing Win7 but I'm dead in the water as the mouse and keyboard (wireless) won't respond.  I guess I can force quit but how do I move forward?  Do I have to go buy a wired mouse and keyboard?  I'm using the new Lion OS.
Thanks

Hi
I had similar problems so used a USB mouse &keyboard when installing win 7 64 bit from DVD.
As installation continues the first reboot is ok, can select country etc, but on second reboot (when the computer is named) the mouse & keyboard are dead in the water .
any ideas?
Please
Eric

hi i'm trying to install updates but Name and then the password I have for the account won't let me in. Is my name my email address?

Updates do not normally require any kind of password access.  It is more likely your machine's security is asking for you to allow things to be updated.

  • Msi 875p runs but keyboard and mouse not!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey to the forum, few days ago I bought a new tagan 530w psu, opened my box remove the old one, put the new one in and then when i pressed the power button the system made a noise like tsaf (maybe a capacitor! (don't know the word but, it messures in farad)), the system continue booting, it load windows xpsp2, but my keyboard and my mouse don't work at all. Changed the keyboard, the same thing, put the mouse in usb nothing, bougth an adaptor ps2 to usb for the keyboard, still nothing.
I need to ask how can i check the ps2 ports to see if they have the problem, or it is the ps2 controller that messed up.
I also cleared the cmos but no luck, no keyboard!!!!!!
    Thanks for any help

Hey Maesus, it must be the board, cause when I had the 875p mobo, both programs controlled the fan.
I did some search and in speedfan's page, there is a list of some boards that speedfan cannot control due to the mobo.
For core center i tried different versions, none of them had the option to control the fan auto or manual.
Thanks for your replies and help!!

  • Re-install of keyboard and mouse driver

Re: HP Envy 17t-3000 CTO Notebook PC
I want to re-install the original keyboard and mouse driver. I have the original discs -- how do I do it?
    Thanks

If you are only talking about keyboard and mouse then it do not require additional installation as the it will be installed automatically. IN addition you can install this software:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-111895-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en...
    ALSO
Try installing HP Support Assistant which will automatically download and install drivers/updates:
    HPSA Link:

    Wish you luck,

  • Replacing keyboard and mouse

I am trying to replace the wireless keyboard and mouse combo on my HP506Q Touchsmart with a Microsoft wireless combo. No matter what I do, the system will not respond to the new ones. Neither the new keyboard nor the new mouse will work. I have down loaded the newest drivers from Microsoft and installed them. I have tried the connect switches on both mouse and keyboard. I have removed and reinstalled the batteries from both. Amy suggestions?

Did you disconnect the little blue USB receiver under the body?
You should aslo be able to go into Control Panel -> Uninstall Programs and uninstall HP Keyboard. You can get your keyboard software back by Start -> PC Help & Tools, Recovery Manager.

  • TS2662 Wireless keyboard and mouse were working fine until today; installed new batteries in both when they wouldn't work-says they are connected intermittently, but can't use either one-have tried to re-pair and nothing happens-codes not recognized-

i have been using my wireless keyboard and mouse with no probs until today-installed updates this morning-since I restarted have been unable to use either device-have tried everything Apple suggests to do- re-pairing unsuccessfully; turned everything off and back on-sometimes the Bluetooth says it is connected, othertimes not-but even when it says it is connected the keyboard/mouse don't work; put in new batteries-no go also; bluetooth icon is on.  Anyone have any ideas????

  • Boot camp not recognize keyboard and mouse when installing windows 7 pro 64 bit

    Hi,
I have some issue when installing windows 7 pro 64 bit using boot camp. after done partitioning the windows drive and when boot to windows installation process, i've got stuck in the first screen when choosing the language. it seems that the keyboard and mouse are not detected.
i'm using boot camp ver. 5.0.
does anyone have similar problem with me?

I have finally successfully installed Windows 7 x64 on MacBook Air 13.3" (2013) thru Bootcamp.
Problem:  After Windows 7 install thru BootCamp, I got to the first login screen and not input devices (Mouse, keyboard, USB) worked.   I tried to boot into Windows Safemode, but I received the error  "Windows can not complete installation in Safe Mode".
Cause:  WIndows 7 does not have native USB 3.0 drivers, included on the install images.
Resolution:  I downloaded the latest device drivers with thru BootCamp and copied them to the USB Flash Drive that had my bootable Windows 7 x64 install on it.  The second option in BootCamp is "Download Support Media".  This does more than just download drivers.  It creates a file called "autoattended.xml".  This is key as it tells Windows during the install process to use the device drivers that you download.  Otherwise, you need to do it manually, which you can't because you have no mouse or keyboard.
NOTE:  I had no need of a super drive because I had all the files on one USB flash drive.  Therefore, I don't think it matter which side of the MBA the USB drive was plugged in, as other solutions suggested.

  • Why don't my Apple USB keyboard and mouse work in Win XP after bootcamp driver installed

    Hey there,
I just installed Win XP Pro + SP2 using Bootcamp 3.0 on my Mac Pro 1.1 (2006) which is running Snow Leopard (10.6.8).  The Win XP installation went flawlessly and everything seemed to be working OK (mouse & keyboard were fine) until I installed the Bootcamp drivers from my OS X installation DVD.  The installation didn't report any problems, but when it was finished, the keyboard (Apple USB keyboard) and mouse (Logitech USB mouse) stopped responding.  No power to the mouse at all makes me believe that it is actually the USB drivers themselves that have failed.  Rebooting WinXP didn't solve the problem - it boots WinXP just fine (and fast!), shows the Bootcamp Help screen, but no mouse or keyboard, a.k.a., USB, response.
Can I recover from this somehow?
    Help please?
    Thanks,
    Ron

    Problem solved.
It seems that the boot camp 3.0 drivers installed from my 10.6.8 DVD weren't sufficient.  I repeated the install from scratch, but rather than rebooting as soon as the BC 3.0 drivers were installed, I allowed the Apple Update utility to D/L and install the BC 3.1 and 3.2 updates.  Viola!  Everything works brilliantly.  My Mac Pro is now the best Windows PC I have ever owned

Do you think the monitor, keyboard and mouse will work on it? Would I have to get a hub so I could use the stuff I already have? Is that viewsonic too old to work on it?
What else would I need? Please advise...

    Yes for keyboard and mouse.
The monitor will work if it has an HDMI, VGA ir DVI input. If it only has a VGA input you will need this adopter

There is no serial number for CC Cloud versions. They are authenticated via your Adobe ID.

  • Trying to install itunes but keep getting windows error126 message and libicuin.dll missing

trying to install itunes but keep getting windows error 126 message and libicuin.dll missing have reinstalled numerous times and keep getting same messages.

Are you saving the installer first and then installing, or are you running the installer directly from Apple's website? Also save first.
If you're saving first and still having issues, try and use Microsoft's Cleanup Utility and then reinstall Quicktime/iTunes:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
Make sure it's a new and fresh download from:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If not mentioned in the articles, make a new user account in Windows and see if iTunes opens. That will tell you if there's something funky in your main account (if the new user works), or if you have a system-wide issue.
