Trying to keep certain songs out of the shuffle list

I listen to radio plays which I download to the pod.
Unfortunately, they are listed as songs and not audio books. Therefore, when I am trying to listen to music, there is no diferentiation and the radio plays get thrown into the shuffle.
Now, I have an individual play list for each radio play (I.e. sherlock holmes, phillip marlow, johnny dollar etc...).
I am wondering if there is any way to "Lock out" certain playlists from the shuffle, w/o keeping me from being able to access the radio plays when I want to listen to them.
Alternatively, I will place all my songs into one play list and merely cycle through them that way.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I gave a onceover to the search and couldnt find anything related.. So here it is:
I've got a couple albums that I use while running and don't want the songs in them to be included in smart playlists i have setup for rating and play count. Is there any way to preclude those songs?

A cleaner solution is to create a playlist with your running albums, then update the other smart playlists with "Playlist" not in "Running Albums".
That way, you don't need to update each and every playlist when you add a new running album, you just need to put it in the Running Albums playlist.

How can I get my songs out of the cloud? Seems like there are issues, any new purchased songs are not syncing with Ipod 3rd generations.

Do you have the original installation disc(s) that shipped with your MacBook? You're just going to have to start from scratch - as I doubt that you can recover any files without paying a fortune. Insert the installations disc, reformat your hard drive and then install the OS that came with your computer. Continue updating to 10.6.8 and then redownload and reinstall Mountain Lion again.
That's really the only way you're going to get your machine up and running again. I would also consider buying an inexpensive external drive to use as a backup in case your brother decides to do something stupid again.

It sounds like you purchased Welcome to New York from the iTunes Store, but ended up with a different song.

5) Tried running Itunes in 'safe mode', running itunes as an administrator..nothing.
Was that iTunes' safe mode as opposed to Windows' safe mode? iTunes safe mode is invoked by holding down CTRL+SHIFT immediately after clicking the icon to launch iTunes and continuing to hold until this message pops up:
Click continue, then close iTunes and reopen. With luck iTunes now opens normally every time.

HT1689 I keep getting booted out of the itunes store on my brand new iPod touch. What can I do to fix the problem?

I just got my son a new iPod touch and he is trying to use the itunes store but it keeps booting him out and back to the main screen with all of his apps on it. I've tried it myself several times and it does it to me as well. I have an iPhone and have never had this issue. Does anyone know what the issue is? He is not thinking this is the greatest Christmas present at this point.

Keeping HTML markup out of the resource bundle

Hello, I'm using ResourceBundles along with XSLT, and an issue that I'm trying to resolve is whether I should or could keep HTML markup outside of the resources. Some of the messages that my app displays have special markup, for example.

In Polish (just to illustrate a point) I might want to use:
<b>{0}</b>, dzien dobry!
I don't see any way to keep the HTML out of the resource -- and I want to keep the entire sentence in the resource file because the words may be in different order in different languages.
What is the usual approach to this? Is markup in resource files a "bad thing"? I searched the net but failed to find anything about this... Thank you,

If the translators use a translation memory tool with a parser that protects markup based on file type, then it is a very bad thing to have html in a java resource bundle, yes. Because the parser will protect the java code, but not the html, increasing the likelyhood that the html markup will be mangled during translation.
You are of course right that you need to keep the entire sentence in the resource file to enable correct translation.

IPod restarts when trying to play certain songs

My ipod has been acting crazy on and off now for a long time. Usually if I let it die and sit a day before recharging it it works again, but now I am having a new problem. When I play some songs my ipod just restarts itself, and I mean restarts. The Apple logo comes up and it starts over like I had never had it on. I still have all my music and all, but it like coming out of hibernation.
I guess best put, my ipod restarts after certain songs.

Trying to synch selected songs by using the checkboxes

I'm having problems using iTunes, trying to synch only checked songs because of lack of space on my iPhone 4. Still, every song is getting synched, even tho I'm unchecking certain songs. Am I doing something wrong?

That's a pretty tedious way to sync songs. still, it should work. With your iphone plugged into the PC, and the iphone's music tab selected, is there a checkmark in "sync only checked songs"?
You might want to look into syncing with playlists.

New PC and trying to keep my songs

My old PC was destroyed and along with it went my library. I am trying to get my songs from my ipod touch to my new library.
A lot of songs were imported from CD's and some were from itunes. I have already downloaded the newest version of iTunes but am afraid to connect my iPod and have it auto sync. What can I do?

Search the forum for "ipod to computer" for assistance. I believe you will need a 3rd party app.
