Trying to live with iTunes in a family house....

I have a iMac '06 that is setup with 4 users, one for each person. 2 of these are kids with parental controls. each person has either an ipod touch, or iphone that they need to sync... I have figured out how to share the music and apps with the users by places the itunes folder on another harddrive and setting the read/write correctly... but I can't figure out how to fix my problem.... If someone else has iTunes open under their name, I can't open it... I have to log into their account and close it, go back and open it... but when I am at work, and don't want to give my password out, no one can open iTunes if I left it open. I need a script that can be an app, so the kids can use it, that will close any open iTunes, regardless of account. maybe something I can use at startup of the account login.... Please help!!!

tried that, but multiple safari windows open, transmission active, or other reasons, cause the user to not logoff, any other options?

If you followed these instructions and you were unable to enter recovery mode, I'm still leaning toward a hardware problem. Also, since you have IOS-7, read this. It might help.

iPhone 4s reboots many times when trying to sync with iTunes.
Since IOS 8, my iPhone 4s reboots many times when trying to sync with iTunes on my Mac. It will start running the backup and reboot, it will reboot many times when updating packages. It can take 12 hours to finish a sync with the mac. The phone gets hot during this. I keep deleting more and more pictures and apps, hoping that maybe it doesn't have enough space, but iTunes shows I have 4.9 Gbytes free, which I think should be enough. I am on IOS 8.0.2, I thought maybe I would try to upgrade to the latest IOS today, but I am worried that I will end up with a non working phone.
Is anyone else having these problems?

Well thats Od... I have never experienced that problem.. Maybe you should try to backup your phone and then wipe it by going to Settings<General<Reset

Both my iPods and my iPad are freezing up at the same spot why trying to sync with iTunes. What's going on?

Several times and with several different iPods I've been trying to sync with iTunes and it gets to 653 of 661 and freezes up. Nothing will work I have to power down and reboot. Even if I do a smaller selection with just a few songs it is freezing up a few songs away from finishing. I've updated and run diagnostics, now both my iPods are empty and I can't figure out what to do next. Can anyone help me out here?

Try this,
Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes, Sync and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

First, back up all data and then uninstall "DivX" according to the developer's instructions.

When I start my computer I get a "AppleSyncNotifier.exe Entry Point Not Found message. I also get an error message when trying to sync with iTunes that a backup session cannot be started. How do I fix this?

With Windows Explorer, navigate to your C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support folder.
Copy the SQLite3.dll that you should find there, navigate to the nearby Mobile Device Support folder, and Paste it in there also.
Reboot and see if all is well
In case that your OS is Windows 7 (64 bit)
1. Open windows explorer, go to location C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
2. Copy file "SQLite3.dll"
3. Open new windows explorer, to to location C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support
4. Paste file "SQLite3.dll" to the location.
5. Reboot your computer, it should not display that message, it should be clear.

I seem to get error messages when I try to sync with itunes. I have the iphone 3G. Also all my music and videos seem to have carried across, all except one, it's very odd. Latest error message reads:
"itunes could not connect with the itunes store. An unknown error occurred (11556)."
I have also an error message saying it cannot sync and error message number 0050.
Any clues?

This error is associated with ringtones, are you trying to sync a ringtone, purchase a ringtone...need more info...

Are you on Windows XP? Is this the error message...iTunes displays -50 error message? If so, follow these directions:

Excuse me my iphone 2g is stucked to the apple logo so i tried restoring it with itunes but i got the error 611

Hey Edgar, how exactly did you do the updates? Are you running iTunes 11.2.2? And you iPod 5 is still running iOS 6.1.2 as your tag shows? or are you running iOS 7.1.1? More info would be helpful. As Deggie asked, what was the error message, the more detailed the better. One more thing-- is this a Mac machine or a PC? Cheers.

I now have a brick for a phone. Just tried to update to 7.1.1 using iTunes and it wipred out the operating system OK but now will not communicate with iTunes or the laptop. I reloaded iTunes and still no luck. If I press and hold the power and home buttons it inly comes up to the same screen showing the lightning cable pointing to iTunes logo. How can I get this running again? Even a factory reset to start would help if possible then I can do a restore. Right now it is worthless.
