Trying to load CS3 Design Premium on a new machine; it's blocked by system check.
I'm trying to load CS3 Design Premium on a new laptop. The system check is preventing InDesign from loading. It inaccurately indicates I don't have great enough resolution. Does anyone have a workaround?
I have a PC running Windows 7 OS.
I've done the following:
Adjusted the resolution to maximum resolution and also to the value Adobe recommends. Both without success.
Used Adobe cleaner, restarted, and tried to reload. No luck. InDesign and Illustrator are still prevented from loading due to resolution ((1024 X 768).
Ideas, tips, and workarounds appreciated!

I've installed it on two CS3 win 7 machines with wide-screens without incident. Are you running the installer from disk or a download? The CS3 installers was pretty finicky, as I recall, and you may need to perform a "clean boot" to get it to work. CS3 Design Premium installation on new machine
Hi hoping you can advise me as I'm a recent member of the forum.
I'm running CS3 Design Premium at work (am hoping to upgrade the software later this year) and am in the process of getting a new desktop (Dell T3500, 1 intel Xeon W3680 3.06Ghz processor, 6GB Ram, 500MB HD, 1GB video card, Windows 7 64-Bit (tho they may just install XP for now)). This machine will be 'mine' for the next 5yrs so I want to make sure that I get one that will 'do the job'.
My IT dept have asked me to find out if the above software would benefit from a machine with a dual core or quad core processor, is the support out their from Adobe for quad core processors? I will admit I have no idea so thought I'd ask you guys .
Any help/advice you can give on the hardware spec would be greatly appreciated.

if you have a problem starting the download, you didn't follow all 7 steps, or your browser does not accept cookies.
the most common problem is caused by failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).
failure to obtain that cookie results in an error page being displayed after clicking a link on prodesigntools.com or initiates the download of an incorrect (eg, current) version. -

I get an error when I try and load CS3 Design Premium from the Adobe site
I have the CD's for CS3 Design Premium, but it will not update. So I tried to download the CS3 files from Adobe, and receive a different error code

Trying to install CS3 Design Premium on a Windows 7 64-bit quad core processor computer
I just purchased a new desktop PC computer as my old one is slowly dying. The new one is great, except for one thing - I can't install my CS3. I had read on Adobe's website that this should not be a problem. Every time I insert the install disk, I am getting an error message that the Install Database is corrupt. I've even tried more than one disk. Adobe is being no help at all. Any help I can get would be great. I don't have a choice - my work is still on CS3 so if I can't it installed on this computer at home, I won't be able to do my work here.
I've 'chatted' with Adobe twice and spoken to Tech Support on the phone. Chat could not help, and Tech Support said my disk must be corrupt.
So I got permission to make a backup disk of the copy of CS3 at work, and tried that disk - new original, new copy. That disk gave me the same error.
I also now can't re-install into my old computer, which I'm willing to do to be able to keep working at home, at least as long as the old computer keeps going. I keep getting errors that the media can't be found - after an hour of the disks trying to install.
I saw one page on Adobe that said to delete the file c:/programs/common/Adobe/caps/CAPS.db. This file does not exist on my new computer, so I can't delete it. I tried this on my old computer, got the Install Database corrupt error, so I put the file back and got the 'can't find media' message I'd been getting.
The new computer comes with a few Adobe things, like Photoshop Elements 10, that I said no to when setting up the computer. Might I need to uninstall these before I can install the CS3?
I appreciate any help - I'm not 'techie' enough to solve this myself.

Was this an upgrade from a previous version of Creative Suite, or a full version? Are tehre any other Adobe products present on the system?
The CS3 installers were probably the worst in Adobe history. A lot of things would conflict with a good install. My first attempt way back when failed because the DVD drive wouldn't read the disk properly. You can try copying the disk to the desktop and install from there.
I've got CS3 running on two different win 7 64-bit machines (but I only installed ID from the suite, though I don't think that should be an issue), so it should be possible. I'd start by cleaning up anything left over from your failed attempts. If you have other versions later than CS3, that probably means uninstalling them, too, then uninstall CS3 if it appears in the list in Windows' Control Panel, then download and run the clean tool from Adobe: CS Cleaner Tool for installation problems | CCM, CS6, CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3
After running the tool reboot. Flash Player was also a major cause of failed installs on CS3, so you may need to also see http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html, then reboot again. Run MSconfig from the Run command in the start menu. The object here is to turn off everythign that is not essential to running the system, without actually going into Safe Mode. On the Startup tab you should be able to uncheck pretty much everything (if you see a mouse driver, I'd leave that), but you want to be sure to especially turn off anti-virus, anti-malware, third-party firewall, iTunes, and any browser helpers and toolbars you see. In the services tab, check the box to hide Microsoft Services, then look for anything that looks like it might be from your anti-virus or malware scanners and uncheck those. Leave anything that says Flexnet or ##ID_String... active, if you see them (you may not), then close MSconfig and reboot when prompted.
When you restart you'll see a warning about running in diagnostic mode, or some such, and yo may be asked if you want to run MSconfig again. You want to continue in diagnostic mode. If MSconfig opens, press the cancel button. Run the installer again. Hopefully this time it will work and youcan the reboot one more time, run MSconfig and check the Normal Startup box, let the system restart again, and you should be good to go. -

I still have the installation disc, but it is stored away somewhere really good. Anyway, I have the serial number and figured if I download a trial version I can just upgrade it using that. Trouble is when I go to the download link I'm greeted by:

i tried to install cs3 design premium and i didn't know where i put this and i made a mistake. i don't know what i did exactly so anyhow it choose the application with blue tooth. now anytime when i try to install cs3 design premium, it opens bluetooth devise search browser. how can i solve it and where i put that program?try searching for CS3 in your spotlight (Cmd - Space) and open any folders it brings up. you can pinpoint the location that way. as far as what it uses to open, you can ctrl-click and choose open with and open that way. i don't know if it will give you the option to always use another program or not. hope it helps.

I have cs3 design premium installed on my machine, but when i upgraded to snow leopard, it corrupted my indesign. I did all the updates and it still didn't fix it like adobe and apple said it would. I have moved CS3 Design Premium from an XP machine to a Windows 7 Machine. I cannot activate it because it says there are too many activations. I was unable to deactivate on the old XP machine as it never gave me the option. What do I need to do to be able to activate again?

I am sorry to inform you that CS3 version of the Adobe applications does not support the Window 7, So there can be an activation issue and the issues related to Network and connection.
In this case I will suggest you to to upgrade your version to the new and updated one, as Technical support for CS3, CS4, CS5, C5.5. Is no more available from Adobe.
I can Suggest you the steps related and associated to activation on this product, but same as Adobe I can not Confirm you that this will work for you or on your Computer.
1. Please Close all the other Adobe application and launch the application in XP Compatibility mode with an Administrator rights.
2. When the application asks for serial number and its prompts for " to many activation", Check on try another serial number and Enter the same serial number.
3. You will be able to activate the Adobe application.
The best I will suggest you to avail the CC offer for with the 40% Discount. As I believe Adobe will shortly will Close activation server for CS3 also as they did for CS2 in Early 2013. And, once the Activation server is closed you will have "nothing to upgrade into anything" Condition.
As simple, Choice is yours.

I recently got a new computer and transferred programs over to it (it's a Mac Pro). But now my Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional application no longer works so I need to reinstall. (Acrobat 8 originally was bundled with CS3 Design Premium.) I no longer have the disks for these programs, so I downloaded the CS3 Design Premium from Adobe's website. Upon opening up the .dmg file and starting the install process, I'm prompted with an "Install Error" telling me: "Please insert Adobe Photoshop CS4 to continue installation." I do not have a disk for PS CS4. How do I continue the install??

-KristineTransferring files between machines doesn't work for Adobe applications. You should uninstall anything you transferred over and use the cleaner tool for it. Then download and install the CS3 suite as a whole.

Reinstalling Acrobat 8 Pro from CS3 Design Premium, asking for Photoshop Elements 6 CD??

I use a Macbook Pro with Leopard OS X version 10.5.8, 2.6 Ghz Intel Core Duo, $ GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM.
I use Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium which came with Acrobat 8 Professional. Now, for a while I've been having issues updating Acrobat because it said it had been modified blah blah and something about plugins being disabled, so to rectify reinstall and run updates. I've seen alot of people on forums with this same issue.
For a long time I ignored this as the program was still working, but today it urked me enough to unistall (which I did by dragging it from the applications to trash) and try to reinstall.
So I tried. Put the CD in, selected only Acrobat 8 Pro for reinstallation, all went well until it asked me to put in the Photoshop Element 6 CD.... which I never had. Although the program does come on the CD. So i'm left confused, without acrobat pro and wishing i had never uninstalled!
I hope this makes some sort of sense. Any help would be much appreciated!I resorted to using the live chat feature that Adobe have on the website. We found that once everything was uninstalled and then just reinstalled Acrobat alone, I wasn't asked to insert the Photoshop Elements 6 CD to continue and everything was fine. No problems. But, when I tried to then reinstall the rest of the suite, it asked for the CD.
So, the way to avoid it asking for the CD was to uninstall CS3 Design Premium completely and then reinstall all the programs. And everything seems to be working fine.
Maybe this was an obvious solution, but I didn't want to risk uninstalling all the programs only to be asked for a non-existent CD when reinstalling.
Anyway, hopefully someone else will find this helpful. -
Adobe Creative CS3 Design Premium - Problem with Photoshop CS3

I have been trying to install Adobe Creative CS3 Design Premium for 2 days. The problem is when I try to install the software the Photoshop CS3 is gray out. I can install the all except the Photoshop. I have no idea what is wrong but has failed to install photoshop cs3. Do I need to unistall the Photoshop CS2 in order to make it work. Any help will be appreciated.

If the page you linked does not work then it should so what happens when you try? It is possible that it might be a simple matter of you enabling cookies or trying another web browser.
You can also try to download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
