Trying to load CS5 upgrade disk - does not recognize CS-2 install

I'm trying to load my copy of CS5, which is an upgrade disk from CS2. I have all the original disks, serial and activation numbers for CS2. But I find that the activation numbers are no longer valid. CS5 disk will not even start up on my WIN 8 machine

Nothing earlier than CS6 is supported under Windows 8.

HELP! - Start up disks does not recognize hard drive!

I tried reinstalling Tiger and my start up disk cannot see a hard drive. Would a new hard drive be a good solution?

You might want to start a new thread about this, but basically I would say that:
- If you aren't sure what to buy, the easiest solution is probably to go to an Apple store or another Apple Authorized repair shop.
- If you're feeling more confident about replacing it yourself, you basically need to know:
1. What type of interface (e.g. SATA on new Mac desktops, I believe ATA on laptops and older Macs) your hard drive uses. You can find this, as you suggested, in System Profiler.
2. What size hard drive your computer uses. Basically this is just 3.5" for desktops and 2.5" for laptops, although I think Mac minis use 2.5" hard drives.
3. What speed you want. This might not really matter to you.
4. How much capacity you want.
I think that Pricewatch is an excellent place to compare prices of hard drives, but if you want to make sure you get a reliable drive and/or don't want to have to do quite so much hunting and comparing, Newegg might be the best place to go.

I have Microsoft Outlook 2003 (11.8118.8221) SP 2 installed. Not running cached mode.
What is the problem?

Go to iPhoto's Accounts preference pane, delete the email account and add it back.
The better solution, IMO, is to set Mail as iPhoto's email client in iiPhoto's General preference pane. That gives you better access to your Contacts, a sent copy and templates similar to iPhoto's in the stationary section of Mail.

So you know the fix went for my issue here, I had already upgraded the zen/jukebox driver to version 2.0 to no avail, and did not get the play for sure firmware as it says all data will be lost, but I did upgrade with the other option on the support downloads section before as well to no avail. Thanks to?GuyGraham, after I installed the app update for Creative ZEN and NOMAD Jukebox Plugin 5.00.22 for Creative MediaSource 5 Player/Organizer it works once again!! I just do not see how this file isn't included with the media source 5 application in the first place. Either or thanks a lot you guys, problem sovled!

G4 does not recognize replacement SuperDrive

Dual G4 Firewire 1.25 GHz (mirror door) has a DVD/ROM drive and I just replaced the SuperDrive with the Apple Original DVR-104WB (Pioneer).
The system profiler does not recognize the newly installed SuperDrive. I am running OSX10.4. I installed PatchBurn 4.
Any suggestions?

I remember that there was a little green plastic thing on the pins. So I just need to move it to the pins designated for master.
Does it matter that the SuperDrive is in the lower bay? A TOSJICA DVD-ROM SD-R1312 drive is in the upper bay. Do I need to make an adjustment to that drive if it has a plastic thing designating it as master?
I was looking at another discussion: "More Comments on MDD G4 Lower Bay Superdrive Cooling" (http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/archives/apr03/042103.html) Someone with a configuration similar to mine was changing the jumper to master but ended up putting the superdrive in the upper bay because he thought it would cool better.
Since I have to take the drives out anyway, what do you think about reversing their position in the bays so that the SuperDrive is on top?

Im trying to install a new application on my mac but it keeps on coming up with 'The volume of this disk does not meet the requirements for this update' any ideas how to solve this?

That may be the new Mountain Lion "sandbox" protective software kicking in, possibly, because ML "thinks" that App doesn't meet ML's new strict security requirements. A common phenomena. If you feel the 3rd party App is really OK, you can override this feature and install the new App by holding down the Command key when you click to install the new App. That's one possibility for the error message appearing. If not, another possibility is that that Developer Preview software package requires some previous piece of software be installed prior to downloading this Preview. You would have to check the Facebbok websiste's Developer Forums for help if this is the case.

I have 60 gig available on my computer's hard drive and have 250 gig on a separate hard drive that I have attached, which is single partitioned (MS-DOS FAT). It keeps saying "The startup disk does not have enough space, you must have 28 gig of free space available" Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Any help would be much appreciated.

With the external hard drive; would it be advisable to defragment? Know of any defrag freeware for Mac OSX?

I tunes does not recognize i touch after trying to upgrade software

My itouch was working fine until an error occured while trying to upgrade the software. Now, when i plug it in it just shows me a picture telling me to connect to itunes, and i tunes does not recognize my ipod as being connected. i can not get the ipod to even go into the main menu

Of course iTunes won't recognize an iTouch. That's not an apple iPod. Are you thinking of the iPod touch?
Hah, I'm just kidding. For your issue here, I suggest a few things
-Restart your computer
-Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes by going to 'help' and then 'check for updates
-Try another USB cord
-Try another USB port and make sure your USB drivers are installed correctly and up to date (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538)
-Restart the Apple Mobile Device Service (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1567)
-Uninstall iTunes and reinstall (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925)
Those steps should fix everything up for you but if they don't, be sure to try it on a different computer.

USB Flash Disk does not mount after Leopard Upgrade

I am not able to use my USB flash disk after the upgrade to Leopard. The disk does not mount at all, though i can see it listed in the System Profiler.
Before the upgrade to Leopard, the same disk used to work perfectly.
Can anyone please tell me how I can solve this issue ?

Check to see if your USB Drive has the latest firmware. Leopard tends not to support older firmware.

Ipod touch wont load past apple screen. I have tried resetting by holding home button and on/off but after it resets it still only loads to the apple screen. When I plug the device in It stays on the apple screen and itunes does not recognize it?

- See if placing the iPod in Recovery mode will allow a restore.
- If not successful and you can't turn the iPod fully off (that is required to place in recovery mode), then let the battery fully drain. After charging for at least an hour try the reset, restore again
- Then time for an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apples store.
