Trying to load Garageband 1.0 on a 600MHz G3

I am attempting to load Garageband 1.0 on a 600MHz G3 running OS X 10.3.9. I've already got newer versions of some of the other iLife programs. I put in the iLife '04 DVD and click on the cardboard box to begin the install. Installer starts and a window pops up saying that "the Installer needs to run a program to determine if this program can be installed." I click continue. A window pops up saying "iLife cannot be installed because one of the following programs is running" It then lists all the iLife programs (iTunes, iDVD, Garageband, etc.). It says to close the program and try again. BUT I DON"T HAVE ANY PROGRAMS OPEN! Help would be appreciated.

I just tried that and they are still ot showing up? It did take a few minutes to rebuild but the actions are not in the effects palette. I'm stumped.

I currently have Garageband v1.1.0 and was in the process of loading all the updates.
I tried to load Garageband 2.0.1 and received this message:
"Garageband_201 cannot be installed on this computer. An eligible Garageband application was not found in /Applications".
I looked in the /Application directory and there was a Garageband (one with the guitar icon) there.
Can anyone tell why this is happening????? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

You need GarageBand 2.0 to upgrade to 2.0.1
This version can be had in the iLife 05 set, which is well worth the investment. GarageBand 2 is a fantastic upgrade.

Trying to load 3rd party plugins in Main Stage

I'm trying to load 3rd party plugins in Main Stage. I get as far as creating a new channel strip. When I click and hold on I/O, however, the dropdown only goes down as far as "Garageband instruments." Shouldn't I also be seeing "AU" instruments below that? Can anybody walk me through doing this function?

you might try a macro / keyboard recorder. I use autohotkey (www.autohotkey.com). If you have selected one or more items in the grid view and press ctrl-shift-n this script:

opens the files in the 7th external editor. Of course the number depends on your installed editors and might change with additional editors.

Trying to install Garageband 6.0.5

While trying to reboot the apps from this disc, I came into a rather strange and perculiar problem upon trying to load up Garageband.
"The Instrument Library is invalid. GarageBand expects a valid Instrument Library folder in /Library/Application Support/GarageBand. Please choose a valid Instrument Library folder or quit and re-install GarageBand."
Is there any solution that I may apply in order to settle this estranged matter? If so, how may I obtain this supposed "Instrument Library" that the application expects of me to have?

Logic crashes when trying to load exs24 factory sample

I reinstalled OS X and Logic Pro (everything else except demo content DVD). Now Logic Pro crashes (freezes) when I'm trying to load an exs24 factory sample. Also, now I can't open my old projects that use those exs24 factory samples, Logic freezes when trying to load the project.
I can't proceed with my work until this problem is fixed. Please help!
I have installed the exact same Logic DVDs once before on this same laptop and the exs24 factory samples worked without any problems.
My Specs: Macbook Pro 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, OS X 10.6.8, Logic 9.1.8

And I guess the proper term what happens with factory samples is a hang crash..

Loaded Garageband 2009--Lightsnake acoustic guitar recordings sound BAD!

Hi All--
I used to use Garageband 2008 to record my acoustic guitar with my Lightsnake and all was well. The recordings were crisp and clean. Since loading Garageband 2009, the recordings sound horrible, very tin-ny, with lots of static and slight feedback. They almost sound distorted. I tried it on another computer with Garageband 2008 and it sounded fine. Am I missing something on the settings? Can anyone help?

Sounds like the problem is happening before the mac. Who makes the acoustic pickup and what model is it. Also how are you connect to the mac adapter or interface?

Adobe cloud tries to load addon which I have deleted in Extension manager

when Adobe Cloud starts it tries to load an application (Edge FX lite) that I have deleted in Adobe Extension Manager cc. I get the error message ' unable to install the addon EdgeFX lite error 603. How do I stop this?
Also in Adobe Exchange in 'My Stuff' there are showing addons which I have removed in Adobe extension Manager cc which I would like to be removed from this listing as I will never use them, but if I right click to uninstall I fail to get rid of them.

1) Go to https://creative.adobe.com/addons/
2) In the top right hand corner select sign in and enter your Adobe ID and password
3) Once logged in, on the center of the screen at the left hand side, select the link 'All your purchases and shared items'
4) You will then be taken to a page that is the equivalent of your My Stuff panel.
5) You can then install individual add-ons/extensions.

Basically I have a Nvidia 7950GX2 that i have installed in a Mac Pro to use in windows and it works perfectly but when i try to boot into OSX i get kernel panics.... I still have my 7300 in the machine for OSX. when I try this methos with a 7800 gtx it works just fine.....
Is there a way i can stop OSX trying to load the device on boot? disable it

Video cards that do not have Apple ROMs cannot boot an EFI based machine like the Mac Pro. Currently the only video cards that will properly work in the Mac Pro are the three available from Apple. I have thousands of favorites and Firefox is my web-browser of choice. Sadly I'm backed up on what bookmarks I have stored and if the websites are still active or not.
I cannot load more than 15 bookmarks it seems at once as my PC is trying to load all the web content for each page in the new tabs.

My PC supports Windows 7 OS which I have as a multiboot alternative when my PC starts up.
I have continually waited and it says Firefox is not responding and I may be able to see the multiple tabs opened in my browser but cannot navigate or access them.
I have read on various sites that users have had as many as 1500 bookmarks load at once in tabs in the Firefox browser version that are outdated.
I have not been successful with just loading 50 bookmarks my goal is to be able to have 500 tabs loaded in firefox with webpage loading stopped on all of them. I will choose reload for about 10 tabs at a time to view webpage content and then close and move on to the rest.
My ultimate goal is to clear up the Thousands of bookmarks I have piling on for the past 6 years and some are duplicates or similar page sites.
Their is no Firefox 3rd party addons that I could locate that would allow this. Only to restrict the number of tabs loaded by giving warning messages when limit is reached.
Please assist me as it will greatly help me with finally deleting and re-organizing my Favorite and frequent websites in my Browser of choice Firefox.

Firebug is notorious for causing problems like you described.
Disable it when you don't need it or install it in a 2nd Profile. Then you can launch the 2nd Profile separately to use Firebug and not affect what you are doing in the 1st Profile,

BI pulisher errors out when I tried to load xml in rtf template.

Record 1: Rejected - Error on table PURCHASEORDER.
ORA-22805: cannot insert NULL object into object tables or nested tables
Another question I have is, how do we know how many records (0's) to specify in the control file? In this case there's only one but when real files are used we won't know how many are in the file.

The concept was "Don't use SQL*Loader to parse XML".
You can use SQL*Loader to load an entire XML document into the DB. That is fine. You can do the same via BFILENAME to read in files from disk as well.
If you want to parse XML, do that from within Oracle via PL/SQL and/or SQL. The solution depends upon your version of Oracle and what is good enough for you in terms of performance.
So the basics are
a) How am I getting the information?
b) How am I getting in into Oracle?
c) How do I want to parse it?
As I see the schema, it only allows for one ipo:purchaseOrder node in the document, since that is the root node. If you have multiple in the incoming file, you no longer have valid XML, both per the schema and because you have no single root node. You have an XML fragment, which must be treated different.
Just trying to understand the question since I now realize it does not agree with what the schema in your initial example shows.

ASA 5505 Keeps rebooting after trying to load image in ROMMON mode

Hi,
I erased my image to upgrade but my ASA was shut down half way though, so I found myself in ROMMON mode.
I was able to upgrade my image once in rommon mode but I found I had an incorrect version so I went through the whole process again. Since trying to load a new image I have been constanly receiving the 'Use Break or Esc to interrupt boot. Use SPACE to begin boot immediatly'.
I can connect to my TFTP server and load the image but it always reboots, or if I select ESC it just goes back to ROMMON mode.
Any thoughts??

I had to do 2 things, one replace memory and the second is set VLAN=untagged, then I could ping the server and tftpdnld would work.

I am trying to load an old windows program in wine and I think that mozilla is marking the program as dangerous and I would like to unblock the install cd.

I have a program, astrodatabank, that I have been using since 2005 or so. The program ran well on Windows XP and Vista operating systems. I tried to load it into my desktop, which runs on the latest verison of Ubuntu. If I try to install from the disk, some of the exe files are not available. If I try to copy the files from the disk to a documents folder, the computer loads everything, except two .exe files. Last night, I got on an XP computer and was able to copy one of the files to a flash drive and copied that file to this computer, but AVAST on that computer decided the files were dangerous. I think I used to have the program installed on that XP computer. Is there a way I can get Ubuntu to let me load the last file and run the install program?

I have now tried to load this book twice. The first time it got stuck during the assembly process on page 6 of 66. The second time it got stuck on page 7 of 66. I've done a preview and it assembles fine. Any ideas would be awesome

By load do you mean order? It appears that there may be a damaged image on page 6 or 7.
Export all of the photos on those two pages to the desktop as Kind = Originals. Open each with Preview and save as a new jpeg file. Import lthose new files into iPhoto, add them to the book and use them to replace the existing photos in those two pages. Now try ordering again.
HOWEWVER, you might try this first: boot into Safe Mode, Mac OS X: Starting up in Safe Mode, and try to order from there. Keep the pdf Preview files you've created to compare with the printed copy when it arrives.
