Trying to Log-in on AIM on safari on Iphone

I get to the sign in mode but the I phone will not put the cursor on where I need to sign in and the keyboard doesn't show up.I think there must be something wrong with AIM site b/c I can log in from my Imac and I can log in to Yahoo on my IPhone. Anyone having the same problem?

There are some folks reporting the same problem when trying to log in to their Hotmail account via MS's website so I think this is a problem with the website provider.
Are you trying to access email or use AIM for instant messaging?
If the latter, there are several iPhone web apps available for this purpose and here are two.

I'm sure I have some setting checked or something, but for some reason I cannot log in to websites through my Safari app. One specific case in point is Ravelry.Com. If I go there, it takes me to the log in screen for the mobile website. I enter my username and password (yes, correctly) and push send and then it takes me right back to the blank log in screen. The same thing happens if I try to log in to LionBrand.com and a few other websites I've tried.
My friend has an iPhone 4 and she can log in to Ravelry with no problems.

Thanks so much for your help, but as soon as I put the question out there, I found a link with my solution. The Ravelry hack was just one in a long list of sites I use that have been hacked. I'm so over hackers at this point. I change my passwords frequently anyway, but it's such a nuisance.

Says I tried to log onto AIM too many times.

I just upgraded my wife's G4 iBook to Leopard and am trying to get the iChat AV to work. I am using a USB cam with iChatUSB and Macam and the camera is working fine. I can get the camera to work over Bonjour to my G5 iMac (also just upgraded to leopard and also using a USB camera with the same set-up). When she tries to do a video or text chat over her AIM account we get an error message saying that she has tried to log on too many times in a short period and to try back later.
Just to see if her account was locked I wen to the AIM web site and can log in with her ID and password with no problems.
I have waited over an hour and we are still getting the message. Any suggestions on how to unlock this?

I may have found a fix:
When I went to my ichat pref. I found one difference between the account i was using and the other account I tried. In the sever settings section it lists this for the server slogin.oscar.aol.com the account i was trying to log onto didnt have the first "s" and the SSl box wasn't checked. I tried adding the "s" and checking the box and it fixed things.

I have been trying to log onto the Wounded Warriors Program Portal. I can Log in and then when I click on the rewards it tried to go to the page the just takes me back to the same page I was on. This is very frustrating.

Both Mail and Safari have Activity Options that open a screen that shows you just how the site or mail is loading.
In Safari if you are having trouble with a site in activity you will see the count of items being downloaded - and if an error occurs it shows red.
On the top is the number of items it is loading or trying to load and the count should be increasing. If the count stops, and you don't have errors it may be that too many people are going after the same site and your request just timed out. Have had the time out on a news site when trying to load a most popular article.

Reload the page. If it doesn't load, choose Activity from Safari's Window menu, find that picture in the list, and see what it says to the right; this may reveal what the problem is.

Your specs say OS X 10.6.8 which would be iChat 5.x.x in Snow Leopard.
This version by default tries to login in to the AIM server called login.oscar.aol.com on port 5190 using the TCP protocol.
An internet connection is made up of 65535 of these so called ports (more like TV stations)
Most routers have ports up to port 1024 which means some of the iChat Login Ports are above this.
Two ways to Solve this.
1) Change the Login port iChat uses
2) Change the way the router opens ports.
For 1) go to iChat Menu > Preferences > Accounts
Highlight/select the AIM account.
In the Info Tab deselect the "Enable this Account" to make sure you are Logged out.
In the Server Settings change the Port to 443
You can decide not to use SSL as well if you wish (the server name automatically loses the leading "s")
For 2) log in to the routers set up pages and make sure it is doing UPnP
This allows the computers to tell the router which ports to open. It also allows multiple devices to use the same ports.
For iChat this allows it to Screen Share as this happens on an unlisted random port.
Opps forgot a couple of things.
If you are using an APple ID registed at Apple ending in @mac.com @me.com or @iCloud.com then the passowrd at Apple has to be 16 characters or less to work with the AIM servers.
Additionally the iCloud issued @me.com and @iCloud.com one require you to use iChat 6 in Lion or Messages in Mountian Lion due to changes Apple made to the security of letting AIM "read" the passwords.

For the first time today, I've been having problems connecting to AIM using Messages. I get the "Messages can't communicate with the account "AIM." Cannot log in to AIM. General error. Try again." error. I looked at the forums here and I tried deleting my account, restarting my computer, reinstalling the account but to no avail. I've been using messages and mountain lion for a few weeks and never had a problem with connecting to AIM until now. Any help is greatly appreciated!

uncheck SSL in server settings....done deal. Funny part is I was having the same problem...went to genius bar...they couldnt figure it out...told me to call apple support. Did that...they told me to re install software after an hour of trying to figure it out...that didnt work either.

my chocolate touch won't let me log on to aim it was fine all day until 1pm I tried to log back in but it kept saying network or device problem retry later so i would and i got same message again. I have gotten this message before but usually will be able to log back in but now it won't let me

I have the same issue with my enV LG Touch. Except I haven't been able login through Mobile IM for months, I've had to login through the web browser, and lately I can't do that either.
I've previously gone through a trouble ticket for the Mobile IM issue, and the email reply was basically that the rep had no idea what to do, and I should try exchanging the phone and see if that helped, except that I can't exchange the phone because no one has them anymore (and didn't at the time, either.)
I'd also like to know what the next best answer is.

My 2012 MBA on Mav 10.9.1 tries to log out every 10 to 12 minutes

My 2012 MBA on Mav 10.9.1 is closing out programs in the background every 10-12 min. and then trying to log out. When it get's to the one I'm working on,usually Xcode, I have to cancel the ''close", but other programs are closed out by then. Is Server 3.03 doing this? Preferences for screen saver and power mode at this point are set to "never", If I get up to take a phone call or use the facilities I'll come back to the login screen. At times it seems to be quicker than 10-12 minutes. It can drive you nuts when you have a few versions of your app up on xcode and maybe some reference pages from the dev lib up on chrome or safari, Email closes out also, so I don't realize, I just assume since I'm not getting notifications that I'm not getting mail. I hear my phone get the notifications though so if I were to stop the log out and open mail it would download them right away. Please help, it's driving me crazy.
One thing, this computer does act as a server when connected, but 99% of the time I am logged into my main server. Sorry its so long, I just couldn't quantify my question without the background information so that I can get a proper answer. So the question agin is, is the Server software on Maverick's doing this since my preferences are set to never go to slepp or a screen saver.
I have been working on an app for the last two months, doing everything with it as a one man show so the compter is used 20 hours a day.

From the menu bar, select

and uncheck the box marked
Log out after … minutes of inactivity
If there's a closed padlock icon in the lower left corner of the preference pane, you may need to click it to unlock the settings. Enter your login password when prompted.

IChat not logging in with AIM after Leopard upgrade

I just figured out the most crazy problem and I wanted to share it with the community here.
I used the drop in upgrade DVD to upgrade two macbooks and an iMac. Upon upgrading, iChat would not let one of the users sign into AIM anymore. iChat would say: iChat was unable to login to AOL Instant Messenger because your screen name or password was incorrect.
OK but if I went to another computer running iChat on Tiger, where the password was saved... It would log in fine. Same password. However, the same password would not work on the AIM website.
So, I had a client, who was very attached to their AIM username (for years) and they could only log in to AIM on two computers running Tiger where there password was saved. We even went into keychain access, and copied and pasted the password, and voila it was the same password on the computers that worked!
So the solution was, that AIM specifies passwords should be 6-16 characters. And the user's password was 17 characters. So I tried logging in with the first 16, and it worked!
What a relief. Such a silly problem but so satisfying to find the answer. Hope this helps someone.

The 16 character limit is known about.
It is strange it is listed elsewhere as longer and appears to be working.

The troubleshooting steps detailed below can help get you connected to your iPhone's personal hostpot.
Basic troubleshooting
See if your iOS device, computer, and wireless plan all meet the system requirements for Personal Hotspot.
Make sure Personal Hotspot is on: Tap Settings > Cellular > Personal Hotspot.
Check the Internet connection on your iOS device: Tap Safari and load a new webpage.
If one connection type doesn't work, try another. For example, instead of connecting using Wi-Fi, use USB or Bluetooth.
Turn Personal Hotspot off and on: Tap Settings > Personal Hotspot or Settings > Cellular > Personal Hotspot.
Install the latest version of iOS.
Reset your network settings: Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
If you still see the issue, restore the iPhone.
If you're still experiencing issues, try the steps below.
Wi-Fi troubleshooting
If you encounter an issue using Personal Hotspot with other Wi-Fi devices, try these steps:
Turn Personal Hotspot off.
Turn on Wi-Fi: Tap Settings > Wi-Fi.
Turn on Personal Hotspot.
If another device can't join your Wi-Fi network, make sure the Wi-Fi password is correct.
If the device can't see your Wi-Fi network, check your device name. Windows may not correctly show a device name that uses non-ASCII characters.
See how many devices are using your Personal Hotspot. Depending on your wireless carrier, the number of Wi-Fi connections may be limited to three devices at once.
If the other device still can't connect, turn Wi-Fi off and on for the device.
Make sure that your device can see other Wi-Fi networks.
Note: If you see "Unable to Join" or a timeout error when you try to connect a device using Wi-Fi, remain on the Personal Hotspot screen until the first device connects. After the device connects, you can leave the Personal Hotspot screen and use your iPhone normally. Your device will stop broadcasting Wi-Fi if you put it to sleep or if 90 seconds elapse and no connected devices use Wi-Fi. To share your Wi-Fi network again, tap Settings > Personal Hotspot.

FCP acts weird when trying to Log Canon HV30 footage HDV

Hi all,
I have made my first recording with my new HV30 in HDV format with CINE mode. I had couple of tapes from my old DV Canon and i have rewinded a tape from the beginning and started to record over it. It worked fine an the image are great on the HV30.
I want to use FCP for editing and i am trying to Log and Capture the recording. *My problem is that FCP capture is horrible slow. It does not update the capture window more then couple of time in a min. Sound is way off the video. If use Capture Now it starts capturing and then FCP freezes after one min and i think it does that just after the first scene shift.*
I have tried to capture to USB and internal disk but no difference.
Running Leopard 10.5.2 on a Core 2 Duo 3Ghz
