ive use the old imovie on a imac g3 an it has a music video title effect an i was wanting to know how to make a music video on imovie 11 because i cant find the music video title effect

Click on the blue Internet Recovery in nbar's post. That is a link to what computers can run Internet Recovery.
Do a backup, preferable 2 separate ones on 2 drives. Boot to the Recovery Volume (command - R on a restart or hold down the option/alt key during a restart and select Recovery Volume). Run Disk Utility Verify/Repair and Repair Permissions until you get no errors. Reformat the drive using Disk Utility/Erase Mac OS Extended (Journaled), then click the Option button and select GUID. How to make my own music videos?

Ok,
so this might be a rather stupid question.
But I gotta ask.
I would very much like to use the TV shows and music that I bought via Itunes to make
my own music videos. I just got a new macbook pro...
Is there a way to do that?
Do I need a complicated/expensive software?
Is itunes locked against such use?
Does Mac come with it's own software for that?
I would be very grateful if somebody could help me out.
Even if just to say ..no way girl!

Your assumption is incorrect. Whether the content is being used to make money or not doesn't matter, nor does it matter whether you paid for the content or not. You get rights only to play the content, not to repurpose it and use it for something else without a license to do so, though again "fair use" comes into play. In addition, the terms of sale for the iTunes Store prohibit use of anything obtained from them for other than your own personal use, which therefor prohibits posting or distributing in any fashion to anyone else.
And yes, at least some videos in YouTube may well be illegal, which is why the content owners such as Viacom have filed lawsuits against YouTube over the years. Or the creators of the videos may have obtained permission to use the content, or the video may fall within the "fair use" guidelines. This isn't the place to disuss "fair use" since it is too complex and vague a subject to address without a lot of discussion.
Finally, again, TV shows from the iTunes Store are copy protected and cannot be edited even if you believe they would fall under "fair use", as are a number of music videos, though not all.

Trying to make imovie incorporating trailer, video and slideshows

i am trying to make a video in iMovie starting with a trailer, then a movie (video clip), then a slideshow, another movie, another slideshow, another movie, then my last slideshow. I burned a copy, but it won't play continuously. I have to keep going back to the menu to choose the next section. How can I set it so it goes from the trailer right into the movie then into the slideshow, etc.....?

i didn't mean to say iMovie. I meant to say iDvd. I have finalized the trailer as an imovie and I have exported the slideshows into itunes and dragged them into my iDvd. They are all there and will burn just fine, I just don't know how to get them to play continuously without my intervention when they burn!!!!

Error message when trying to play movies and music videos

I am getting the below message on my TV screen when i try to play movies via my iPad device through airplay. The irony of it is that I watched a whole movie before this problem developed.
"This content requires HDCP for playback. HDCP is not supported by your HDMI connection. This content required HDCP for playback"

Music videos & tv shows

I have been trying to sort my videos out on my touch. In itunes I sorted them all out and named them, clicked on the video tab in info and labelled them either 'music video' or 'tv show' (I don't have any films yet). My videos were then disappeared from the video page and the tv show reappeared in the tv show library as expected, the music videos went into the music library. This all looked fine displayed on my ipod in itunes. However when I looked on my ipod itself there were now videos whatsoever in the video page, and I couldn't find a folder for tv shows anywhere!! Where are my tv shows hidden??? If I redo the info on my ipod in itunes and label them all as movie videos they all appear in my video section on my ipod no problem. Can anyone explain?? I just wanted to keep them all in separate sections instead of a mishmash of different types of video content!

What version of itunes are you using, have you updated to the latest, 7.5? If so when you connect your ipod to the computer, and select the ipod from the right hand pane in itunes, the main window should change to show a overview of your ipod. Across the top of the overview pane there should be different tabs music/movies/tv shows etc. In the music tab make sure sync music videos is selected, under the tv show tab choose sync all tv shows. Also if you have itunes set to only sync checked items make sure that all of the videos and tv shows have the check mark next to them. Resync your ipod, and they should show up in the appropriate category under videos on your ipod. (The music videos will also show up in the music section of the ipod, but will only play the audio if you select them from there)

Need Help with ACTIONSCRIPT for Interactive Music Video

I am trying to create an interactive music video in After Effects and Flash.
The concept is that while the music video is taking place the user can decorate the hair of the woman with any of the objects they select. There will be predetermined animations and destination spots but the user can choose whatever objects they select to be delivered to the predetermined spot. I need to figure out how to let the user to select an object that will become part of the animation. I created a PDF Roughly explaining what I am trying to do. If anyone can help me I'd be very grateful as I am more versed in After Effects, I don't know ActionScript well enough to execute what I am trying to do.
Below is a rough example of what I am trying to do. There will be a music video of an animated woman singing. As she is singing the user will be able to click any of the objects , below the numbers 1-10. Below it is illustrated that the user wants to press the blue number 2. If the user presses the 2 the 2 will animate in the mouth of a bird to a predetermined pre-animated spot. I assume I need to send a movieclip to a blank holder on the timeline and use a gotoAndPlay() action ??? I am not well versed in ActionScript so any advice would help
Now whatever number (movieclip) the user chooses next needs to be placed in another blank spot in the timeline? Below the user selcts the Pink 5.
If the user just wanted to Place two "Blue 2's" then the "Blue 2's" would follow the same animated path and end up at the same predetermined space.
If the user selected just 5's and 7's they would go to the predetermined preanimated paths
How would I go about writing the Actionscript for this?

Look, I hope you don't have false expectation that by knowing one piece of AS capabilities you will be able to accomplish your task.
If I say that the code for placing one MovieClip into another is:
clip1.addChild(clip2);
will it make any difference in terms of implementation?
Also, you say "select." This may mean a lot of thing: click, drag and drop, mouse down, etc. I am saying that implementation tightly depends of definitions that you give.
I don't know the extend of your AS skills, so it is not easy to figure where to start helping. Also, forum, perhaps, is not the medium where someone will write a lot of code for you. It is good for getting answers to very specific questions and solutions. This is when you have some code in place already.
What I would suggest is to start developing a very rough concept - no video, no birds, no numbers - just a static background image of the person you have in your first post. If you advance to an application that will allow user to select a square, place the square into another one - it will be a good start.

Need Help Syncing Live Music Video with Studio Recording

Hi.
I'm trying to put together a 'music video' using live video footage and studio recorded audio. The live footage was played at a different speed than the studio recording. Any hints on how to get this to look good?
Can I pick a bunch of points in the song, say the start of a verse, set markers, and stretch the video between the markers to try to get it close? (I think I've done this before - but it was years ago..) Will the transition from slow video back to regular speed look funny? I do have other footage that will get spliced in at times, but maybe not enough to use at every transition.
I'm thinking this is going to be really difficult to accomplish. Any ideas to make this easier would be appreciated.

My suggestion is to try Fit to Fill: this edits a video clip to a predefined section of the timeline (e.g. using IN and OUT points in the timeline) by stretching it or shrinking it to fit that section; the speed of the clip will be adapted accordingly.

Video icons under "Music Videos" HELP!!!

I have tried re tagging all my music videos. I do not get it... Some will have the artist listed one time but, it may say "u2" 3- videos.. then you click on "u2" and it jumps to the next screen of the 3 videos right? right.. However, I have 3 artist out of 20 that list each video on the first display page.. So why do some list one icon with multiple videos under it but others just list multiple icons. I am anal... I knnow but, it bugs me.....

oh yeah,, I had one of the bad screens before. I took it back waited 2 weeks.. Got the new one today and it is Beautiful!

Is it possible to make a real 3D path in Motion?

Hi guys,
it's still me...
Now I'm trying to make a real 3d path using the paint stroke.
The problem is the paint points have only 2 parameters (X and Y) and I can paint it only on a 2d plain and not in a 3d world.
I would make something similar to:

Paint strokes are always on a 2D plane in 3D space, and always in "local 3D" which means they cannon interact with other objects (unless you keep them as 2D).
However, you can animate particle emitters and replicators along a motion path in full 3D space and wrap around objects.
