Trying to make sounds disappear when a site comes up on here ,,,,

i am on voice most of the time,,, and when i go into fb onto the games the sounds are shut off in the game but as they are downloading the sounds still come on,,, how can i make them not come up,,, i have other browser that have a mute button that i can use so i dont hear the sounds,,,do you have a way with your browser to do that,,, thanks

Why is the sound disappearing when I send a video?

I have an iPhone 5C. When I record a video and send it, the sound disappears! I can hear it just fine when I play the video back on my phone, but if I send the video to someone, they can't hear it. Why is this happening? I tested it by sending it to my email, and sure enough, the sound is gone! Am I doing something wrong when I send it, or is there a setting that is off somewhere that I need to adjust?

I can't even see where that setting is.. for my information all the footage is from a GoPro so what I've had to do is convert them to .mov and Apple ProRes 422 now. Now when I have them in final cut the samples in 'All Clips' and in the time line look ok in till I hover over them and then they have the red hint again, they do how ever export the right colour now but this is going to make colour correction difficult

Trying to make sound louder than standard controls allow me

I am trying to make the volume louder than the standard controls allow me to. Using my laptop for conference calls with a large group of people is difficult.
I have the HP Elitebook Folio 9470m laptop.
My operating system is Windows 7 Enterprise, service pack 1.

As it turns out, Elitebook 9470m is an ultrabook standard PC and has tiny speakers which may be good for the person sitting in front of it but for a larger audience, the sound output is not adequate.
If it was audio from a video then you could have tried something but in a conference call, it would not be possible to increase the sound.
I suggest you to have a look at notebook portable speakers which come in a variety of sizes and are designed to fit in a laptop bag so that the user can carry them along. These are not very expensive.
Look for search query: laptop USB portable speakers.

How To Make Text Disappear When Mouse is On a Button?

Hello, I'm completely new to Flash and well I need some help. I created a page that has static text in the center.
The page has buttons on side and when I rollover a button text appears, but the problem is that when I rollover a button, the static text in the center is there and I want to hide it as I can't read anything because the texts are overlapped.
How do I make the text in the center disappear/hide when I rollover a button and how do I make it reappear when the the mouse is off the button?
I hope what I am explaining makes sense.

You can assign onRollOver and onRollOut code to the buttons to make the text dispappear, but you'll need to make the text a movieclip with an instance name that you can use to target it to turn it invisible. In the simple example below, the button has an instance name of "btn" and the text movieclip has an instance name of "text_mc"

Trying to make a payment on this site...

i've been trying to make a payment on my debit card on this website to my horror all has failed... i've been using the same card for all the other payments up to this why are you guys messing up now? please get it together, i've never had this problem before until now!!!

I've been trying to make a payment as well online for 4 days now. I've sent emails to "support" but no response as of yet. It has nothing to do with debit cards, account balances, etc... It has something to do with their links/ payment gateway as it keeps bouncing me to the top of the page after hitting the "next" botton.

How do I eliminate: /Site/Home.html when my site comes up?

Hi, I made a site using Iweb 06 1.1.2. It is hosted through GoDaddy, I uploaded it using Fetch. When I enter my URL into the address bar my site comes up, but it adds the "/Site/Home.html" and I'd prefer to eliminate that.
Is that possible? My site is www.johnnycardinale.com

You can turn on domain masking, which would make it say www.johnnycardinale.com no matter what page you are one, but I would recommend against that.
What I would do, is just get rid of the site name, which in your case is Site. Then you'd be left with www.johnnycardinale.com/home.html which isn't as bad.

Bass-sound disappear when exporting to Adobe Flash Video format

I'm making a guitar-tutorial on video, and want to export parts of it to Adobe Flash video by using Adobe Media Encoder. But when I do that, it sounds like the bass-sound of the band disappear. The sound generally becomes low also. Maybe there is a connection. Anyway, with the sound I have now, I can't use the video in flash format :-(
I've tried bitrates of both 128 and 256 kbps, which should be more than plenty.
Help would be appreciated.

I selected DVD/CDROM in the "Data Rate" category...?
Umm....I assume you're exporting from FCP using QuickTime conversion,
so you can choose a QuickTime movie, H.264, and choose
Frame Rate: Current
Key Frames: Automatic
Frame Reordering: Checked
Quality: Best
Encoding: Best
Data Rate: Automatic ... which then means you don't need to choose DVD/CDROM.
Give that a try and see how it looks.

Sound disappears when changing speaker config

Hello all, I currently have a bit of an annoying issue when using my x-fi titanium card in vista 64 bit.
When I goto change my speaker config from headphones to 5.1 or vice versa, the sound from the running apps disappears
and I have to restart the applications for sound to come back. For example I am playing a song in winamp, i change speaker config
from 5.1 to headphones, sound gone, close winamp and reopen sound is back. Same thing goes for my games.
Any possible solutions to this thanks.

The only thing I don't like about the iPhone headset solution is that the earplugs are uncomfortable, and keep falling out. I basically don't like things stuck in my ear. So I am thinking of buying an actual over-the-ears headset to plug in to the headset port.
A couple of questions:
- Is there any reason at all to go USB headset instead? It seems like a waste of a USB port since there is a headset jack.
- Is there any way of switching the output sound back to the speakers while the headset is plugged in? Or do I have to physically unplug it each time it is not in use for a Skype call (which is the only time I would use it)?

Sound disappears when dropping clip to sequence timeline

I have a quicktime clip that plays without problems when in the viewer window. I edit the clip as desired and then place the clip in the sequence timeline. When I try to view the clip, the sound is gone, replaced by a regularly pulsing beep. When I first opened the project and added the clip I got the warning stating my project settings didn't match the clip settings and accepted FC Pro's suggestion to change my project to match the clip. This is the only clip I'm working with. How can I get my sound working correctly?

Rendering doesn't solve the underlying problem. Your audio is not in a standard editing format (perhaps it is mp3?) which can cause you problems down the line.
The audio in FCP (with rare exceptions) should be aiff/ 48khz/16 bit. Other formats, sample rates, etc lead to drifting out of sync, pops and other really annoying anomalies.

Trying to makea report run when clicking a button on a form

I am trying to run a report by clicking a button on a form (Forms 9i)
I have modified the registry settings for FORMS90_PATH and REPORTS_PATH to include my development directory, and now at last the report is generating. However the command to display the form in a window is not doing anything at all - no error even. Can someone please help, the trigger code for my button is displayed below:

Also you have to create the report server with the command:
"rwserver - install service_name autostart=yes
report server name must be the same that appears in the code above
You must add the report to run in the REPORT object type in your .fmb and put there with the same name
The report server to install ought to be the one and only in you network to avoid mistakes...

Trying to make video smaller but file size comes out larger

I'm not aquainted with how to reduce both the file image and keep the file size small also.
I start out with a 3mb file that has a window of 640 x 474.
I run it through streamclip and re-save export to quicktime with a window size of 320 x 240. I would think that this would cut the file size in half also, but the file, although it now displays in the smaller window size, which I need for placement in a web page, the file size has jumped up to 14mb. Apple Intermediate Codec and 50% quality setting. I don't see how the file has bloated in size to such a great degree.
Please help me discover the error of my ways.

Thanks for responding MartinR, I tried the H.264 codec with MPEG-4 ACC audio and that brought it down to about a 1.5mb filesize on one and 3.5mb filesize on the the other. I still don't know what the discrepancy is to make theme different in file size now, but I do now have two files that work fine on the internet at the new screen size. I appreciate your input and response to my question.
