Trying to move around music clips gives me a coronary.

Wow, everything about iMovie 08 was so good until I tried to add some music clips into my slideshow. What a friggin nightmare! Here's what I want to do:
I have one large section of a slideshow that is ending, and then another section starts. I have a long "fade through black" transition to help show the viewer that this is a transition between major sections. I want the music that is playing during section 1 to fade out while the video is fading to black, and I want the new music to fade in while the video for section 2 is fading in.
Should that be difficult? Well, it is. Actually, it's impossible.
For whatever reason, I can't drag the new section 2 music further back than the start of the section 2 video. Doesn't sound like a big deal, does it? Well, the "start" of the section 2 video is actually the point when the transition is completely over. So, I have about 4 seconds of video fading in from black, and then the music kicks in akwardly. Why can't I just nudge the music back into the middle of the transition? Give me a nudge button! Command-option-arrowkeyleft. PLEASE. Or just let me drag the music anywhere I want. Please don't decide for me where I want to drag the music. I'll tell YOU where I want to drag the music, and you will let me. What if I don't want the music to start when the transition is completely done? What if I want it to start in the middle of the transition?

You can't drag music onto a transition, but you can accomplish the same thing by dragging it onto the prior clip. You can have two music tracks pinned to the same clip if you want. Drop the music track onto the clip just before the transition.

when i try to sync my music, it gives me the option of erasing content from ipad (which i do not want to do). it will not give me the option to move the music to computer from ipad. when i try to transfer purchases, it is only tranfering apps.

Okay I tried to use my usb and it was good and I put the music on there and
then I plugged it in my new computer and I dragged it from the usb to iTunes
and then it was playing and fine THEN I un plug the usb and I click on a song
and it says It cant find the file....

Reconnect the USB drive and organize the library from within iTunes. To prevent this happening again, either drag the library to the internal drive or set iTunes to automatically copy the files to the iTunes Media folder.

Do a Spotlight search or do a logical search along folders that make sense such as looking in the music folder first. Moving a library correctly should not result in any loss, and I can't think of any way to move a library and lost just a select grouping of files. How were you trying to effect this?

iTunes includes an option to transfer all iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes Store from an iPod or iOS device, but this is for iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes Store only.
To transfer the music from the flash drive that was purchased from the old Apple ID will require authorizing your new computer with that Apple ID with iTunes. The same for music or any other iTunes content on your iPhone that was purchased from the iTunes Store with that Apple ID.
With the iPhone connected to iTunes and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone.
You will need to authorize your new computer with iTunes with each Apple ID that was used to purchase/download any iTunes content purchased from the iTunes Store on the iPhone with the Apple ID.

I'm trying to move my music etc from an iPad to my new Macbook. My previous computer (PC) died some time ago, so I have no backups of the info on my iPad. (Well, a backup from about a year ago!) I lost my iPad data once before, after doing an OS update on it, and it was only my own ideas and not AppleCare that helped me to sort the problem out. That said, I'm a bit nervous now that I don't have any backups of the data.
OK, so I've tried following the steps in the article about this. I've also turned off the automatic sync function now because I'm scared it'll immediately sync to an empty iTunes. But even having done this, I'm still getting the 'sync in progress' message on my iPad. The Macbook isn't giving me the message to 'transfer', but asking if I want to update the OS on the iPad.
So ... Is the iPad actually sync-ing if it says it's sync-ing or is it just in the initial stages of connection and hasn't done anything yet? Can I leave the devices connected?
And if I just say no to the OS update, will I then get the message I'm supposed to get?
*** Oh, and it was opening iPhoto too. I've now followed the instructions to stop this from opening. Would that have been why I was getting the 'sync in progress' message?

You can use a third-party Mac application like Senuti to move music from your iPad to your iTunes library.

When in iTunes on the computer,my our ipadmshould show under devices.
Click on your ipadmunder devices then go to music at top center of the iTunes window, check what you want to sync for music. You need to set it to a folder if I remember which would have your music in it you want synced.
Same with PDF files.....there should be an option for data or even PDF files at the top center area of iTunes when the iPad is clicked under devices.
If your iPad does not show or you cannot click on it under devices which is in the leftane of iTunes, the iPad is not being seen by the computer.
Try unplugging the USB cord from the laptop then give it a few and see if the computer picks it up.

I cannot synch movies to my iPad. This has worked for me in the past. I keep getting an error message that I am not connected to the internet. Yet, I certainly am. How else could I post this message. I can listen to music clips from the iTunes store, fetch my email, and read current newspapers on the internet. I restarted both my iMac and my Ipad and that didnot help.

I completely understand what is happening. I know that you are connected to the Internet. I made the suggestion because I have seen it work in similar circumstances. The Apple iTunes servers can be a bit fussy about things and sometimes rebooting the router clears up this miscommunication between iTunes and your network.
Have you tried signing into your account and then try to sync again. Go to Store>View Account. You will have to enter your password. Then try to sync again. Or try signing out completely in Store>Sign out. Quit iTunes, sign in again and then try to sync again.
Sometimes refreshing settings will help clear up weird problems.

Everything in your project will be exported when you use the share menu.
If you want to export only half, I suggest that you
1) Select the project in the Project Library.
2) Click FILE/DUPLICATE PROJECT
3) Give the duplicate a name, like Project A snippet.
4) Open the duplicate project in the Project editor and delete the segments that you do not need.
5) Then Share.
You mentioned surrounding a portion of the clip you were editing in Yellow. Once you do this, you should right-click and then select either DELETE SELECTION, TRIM TO SELECTION, or one of the other options available. That is a key tool in editing.
You mentioned MPEG Streamclip. I agree that MPEG Streamclip is a great tool.

It's supposed to show up as a camera because it is a camera. Additionally, you won't be able to sync your music from your iphone back to iTunes... media sync is one way... iTunes to the iPhone.
Google TouchCopy to copy the media from your iPhone to your computer.
