Trying to move my contacts from old BB8520 to new BB9360

good day to the community, I am trying to move my entire contacts list from old business BB to new BB9360 using my home IMac as a pivot. I have downloaded the program for mac and succesfully moved my contact list there, but now when I connect my new 9360 after succesfully prompting for BB password it says "cannot connect IMac to the BB". if I look at the BB Desktop Software, I only see on the top left the BB 8520 icon, so basically I guess it is not ready to dialogue with the new device, as if the system did not acklowledge that there is a new device which I am trying to connect. I tried to dowload again the BB Desktop Software, it does not change.
any suggestion other then manually re-inserting over 1k contacts?

Hi alberto66,
Welcome to the support community!
The following KB article may help with getting your BlackBerry smartphone connected with your Mac.

old computer is offline, so if I have to make a copy of something hopefully it can be done offline.
Don't really understand why windows 7 renders Firefox so different that XP. Will change, but really like the old feel.

  • How do I move my contacts from TimeMachine to my new Mac?

Hi all. My old MBP was one with a faulty nvidia graphics card, and it conveniently went out 22 days after the warranty was void, so I've since bought a new MBA currently running 10.7.2. I have a few contacts on my TimeMachine backup from my old MBP that I'll never get again in my entire life if I can't move them over from my external hard drive. Is there a way to do it? I don't particularly want to restore my old machine on the new one—only the contacts from AddressBook. Can it be done? Help!
    -stewart

Normal files are relatively easy, via the Browse Other Backup disks option, but this is a tough one.
AddressBook contacts are, well, weird.  The way they're stored makes it very difficult to find them; and you can't use the browse option with the special handler for Address Book contacts.
They're stored in the <your home folder>/Library/Application Support/AddressBook folder.  Each contact is a separate file inside the Metadata folder there, but you can't tell which one is which, since they're named with UUIDs that look like gibberish, not anything recognizable to us mere mortals.
    Here's what I'd suggest:
Use the Migration Assistant app to transfer part of the user account from the old Mac's backups (temporarily).
For details, see Using Migration Assistant on Lion. If that user account has the same as an existing one on your new Mac, rename it, per the last sample in the pink Migrating User Accounts box.
Select only the user account that has the contacts, and exclude all its sub-folders.  That will transfer everything in the Library sub-folder, including, of course, all the contacts.
Log on to the transferred account.  Start the AddressBook app and locate the contacts you want.
For each one, select the contact, then File > Export > Export vCard from the menubar.  Select a destination (such as the default of the special Shared user account) for the contact.
Log on to the account where you want the contacts and start AddressBook.  Click File > Import from the menubar.  That should default to the Shared user account; select all the contacts and click the Open button to import them.
When done, delete them from the Shared user account, and delete the temporary user account.

  • Is there a way to move my library from old ipod to new ipod if i do not have my old hard drive

I have an issue on my old ipod with the sound coming through headphones...after troubleshooting found something is wrong with my old ipod (from like 2006) and i just bought a brand new one and want to be able to move my songs from my old ipod to my new one in windows platform environment.  The issue is I don't have my original hard drive with the Itunes library on it on which I originally purchased my songs.  Is there a way at all to download my songs from my old ipod to my new computer's hard drive and then move them from that hard drive to the new ipod?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I am a novice at this so please be user friendly and not a lot of computer jargon please if possible...if you can outline steps that would be great.

    Hello goldymich
You can only transfer items that you have purchased from the iTunes Store. The article below will give the steps on how to do that.

  • I tried to move some items from inbox to a new folder, it seemed to move but when that folder was opened, it was not there and not in inbox either.

try to move or copy from any folder to any folder....don't work, moved them earlier to a new folder from inbox, they disappeared. had to access server website to retrieve. now I don't want to bother them in fear of loosing them permanently.

right click both folder and select properties and then the repair button. Mail is displayed from an index file and this rebuilds the index. It does not actually affect your mail.

  • Contacts From Old Phone To New

I will be setting up my iPhone as new when I get my new one. My concern is my contacts. If I push the slider on my current phone to green/on for contacts under iCloud, will then they show up on my new phone when I activate it? Is there an easy way to get my contacts on the new phone without losing any or creating duplicates? I don't want to restore from back-up, I want to set us as new.  I have heard Gmail however I worry that will create duplicates and will put some on my phone that I don't want there.

Have you tried syncing with your computer?

  • How Do I Move My Data From Old MacBook to New MacBook Pro?

    Hey everyone
So I just bought a new Macbook Pro 15" to replace my old black Macbook. My old Mac runs Tiger and is an Intel Core 2 Duo. I was wondering, how do I move my files over to the new Macbook? Do I use a FireWire? If so, does the data from my old Macbook get deleted or is it still on the old computer?
I've never done something like this before so if anybody can help me on the file transfer methods, that would be great! Basically I'm hoping that all my music, photos, my iPhone data, etc.. all get successfully put on my new Macbook!
    Thanks!

Hi and congrats on your new Mac.
    Use the Migration Assistant (Applications/Utilities)
If both computers are using Mac OS X, you can connect the two computers with a FireWire cable and use Migration Assistant, located in the Utilities folder in your Applications folder. Migration Assistant transfers your files and important settings to your new computer.
Just launch the Migration Assistant application and follow the instructions.

  • Need to transfer apps & contacts from old 4 to new 5S - BUT...

I hadn't updated the OS on the 4 for a long time, since each upgrade made it perform worse.  Now I can't get the 4 to upgrade (when I try, it just says "software update unavailable, try again later"), and Verizon says without doing so I can't transfer over my apps and contacts to the new phone.  No worries about photos or music - those are saved elsewhere already.  Any advice?  Thx!

Verizon is wrong. You have a current backup of your iPhone 4? If so, follow the directions here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2109
No iTunes content is included in any iPhone backup, so after you restore your new phone from the backup of your old phone, either re-download your apps & music, or sync it to your new phone.
