Trying to play iPhone library through iTunes on my work computer
I have my iPhone synced with my home computer. I authorized my computer at work (HP laptop) in iTunes with my iPhone connected and recognized. When I click on the iPhone in iTunes, I can see all of the music, but it is grey and you can't click on any of the songs. I just want to be able to play the songs, not transfer them. If anyone knows how to do this, I would really appreciate your help.

Is this still the case or have I missed another topic when searching? Its really quite annoying I only want to play my music through iTunes on a work computer (effectivly read only)

I want to transfer the music on my iPhone to my iTunes library on my work computer (which already has an exisitng iTunes library) but I don't know how to do this. I usually just listen to my iPhone plugged in via USB on my work computer but I'm concerned that I'm damaging the battery by having it plugged in for 8 hours a day.

when its finished recovering it says "we are unable to continue with your activation at this time" then the apple logo comes up on the phone and stays there

Has anyone had this problem? I've tried to play a video through itunes but everytime it tries it causes the software to crash with windows 7. I have the newest updates.

Hi, I am having trouble getting an album to download. I have tried it on both my iPhone and laptop through iTunes but neither works. I am wondering if it could be the size of the album stopping it downloading (212 Tracks) Any Ideas?
These alerts occur due to timeouts or conflicts trying to write a file during download.
If you encounter this issue while while downloading something from the iTunes Store:
Delete your iTunes Downloads folder, located in:
Mac OS X: ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Downloads Note: "iTunes Media" may appear as "iTunes Music. Also, the tilde (~) refers to your Home directory.
After locating your iTunes Downloads folder:
Quit iTunes.
Delete the Downloads folder on your computer.
Open iTunes.
Choose Store > Check for Available Downloads.
Enter your account name and password.

I tried to restore my iPhone 4s through iTunes and received error message that Restore could not be completed due to error 2003. Phone now not recognized in iTunes, with repeated prompts to restore phone. Now phone w/screen with iTunes symbol and USB cord can't use. It appears the phone has been restored, but I cannot activate it.
I disabled my anti-software, iTunes and computer software (microsoft vista) are both up to date, I restarted the computer several times. My usb ports are working properly. I attempted to update my iphone 5 through itunes. Itunes backed up the phone. However, when it tried to install the updated software an error message displayed -42110. Now the iphone is unresponsive with a usb icon with an arrow pointing to an itunes icon. The computer makes a connection noise when I hook the phone to the computer but it does not appear to be recognized. It does not appear in the My Computer section. Itunes does not recognize it either. I disabled my security software. I uninstalled itunes, Bonjour, Quick time, apple updates, Aplle mobile updates ect. I reinstalled Itunes and the program still does not recognize the phone.
If you uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, did you follow the steps in this support document http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 exactly. Check and make sure. If you did, then try this support document to get the phone into the Recovery mode. It may take more than one try. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808

I have bought a new airport express and using it with my macbook (iTunes 10.2.2). I have joined an existing wireless network for internet in my home and with that i am trying to play the music via itunes but there is audio dropouts every 60 secs or so. I am using a set of speakers from kenwood connected to the airport express. The operating system on my macbook is mac os X 10.5.8. i am sure it is not a problem of streaming music online because i have even tried playing music which are stored in my macbook.

Thank you a lot in advance.I am shocked to have found this same AX audio dropout problem starting TODAY, every few seconds the audio just drops for a couple seconds and then resumes: Latest software versions of everything. No iPad, iPhone or Touch. Internet hardwired to D-Link DES1105 (1000baseT Switch) hardwired to new 80211N AX, AX optical to stereo, AX Wi-Fi internet to basic 1st-gen MacBook operating at 80211G, and an older 'G' AX extender at the far end of the house, away from all this. The MacBook streaming iTunes is usually 12 feet from AX. I've used this setup for years of trouble-free AirTunes / Airplay until today. Today I also found 2 very reliable fixes and 1 way to force a dropout, but first, I read some posts and tried ALL following settings one-at-a-time and restored them ALL because NONE of them helped: Turned off IPV6. Streamed to multiple speakers 'Computer' and 'AX' (restored to just AX). Turned off 'Ask to Join new (WiFi) Networks'. Turned off Bluetooth (can't live without Magic Trackpad, so glad that wasn't it). Here's my discoveries: Lo and behold, each time I click the Airport icon in the Menu (you know it shows you've got 4 bars from AX) when the status switches to 'Looking for Networks' for a second it CAUSES the AX audio to drop out for a couple seconds (it never did that before today.) iTunes still playing, streaming, AX laser still lit, but the 'PCM' light on stereo and the sound GOES OUT EVERY time I click the Airport icon in the menubar, just like the regular, annoying dropouts. So, to reduce traffic I quit Safari (3 tabs, no streaming, just Gmail, Google, and Netflix browsing). Lo and behold, the dropouts stopped altogether. No other Web apps going (not iTunes Store, Genius, Ping, nothing), so I launched Chrome to the same 3 tabs and the dropouts HAVE NOT RETURNED. That's right, not only did simply QUITTING SAFARI cure it, and Chrome doesn't contribute to it, but I can demonstrate it just by forcing my Airport to re-scan. Works for me, written using Chrome. The other reliable fix is to hardwire MacBook to the Switch. This is obviously not ideal, but Airplay audio doesn't drop out over Ethernet. Also, in all my tests, it made no difference whether iTunes did the streaming, or Airfoil did.

I have a Dell 17R, Windows 8 64 bit, intel i7-3630QM at 2.4 GHZ, 8gb ram, Nvidia GT-650M at 1920x1080 using driver 320.49
When I play a movie in iTunes, the audio works flawlessly but the video will be smooth for a few seconds, stutter and then skip small 2-3 second spots. I haven't noticed that the parts skipped are any more graphically intense than other spots and there is no discernable pattern.
In the past, I have been able to play movies through iTunes with absolutely no problem but when I downloaded this most recent one a few days ago all of my movies have been experiencing the same issue.
When I stream other videos from other sources I do not experience the same problems as I do when I use iTunes. Streaming 1080P over youtube or a similar services is no issue.
I have updated my video drivers to the latest version as well.
I am at a loss, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Since I'd installed the new version of iTunes, iCal and Address book do not sync with my iPhone 3GS through iTunes anymore and I get an error message stating that iTunes can not sync with this iPhone. Was must i do to correct this issue and if i must, how dI reintall iTunes without loosing my content?

i tried reseting my ipod today and had a similar problem... it wont be recognized by itunes, the only thing i havent tried is putting it into DFU mode, or the state that it is in when u recieve it telling u to connect it to itunes.i recommend putting it into DFU mode. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34v8HMC9B98 this should better explain it. if i find another way, ill keep u updated
