Trying to play music wirelessly

My goal is to play music throughout my house and in particular outside on my deck. My question is that if i buy the speakers on the link below, do i need to also buy an airport express. I'd like to be able to use the remote app on my iphone and play and control music from outside on my deck from music that is on my computer. the link below has a transmitter to relay the signal to a speaker but i want to be able to control music that is on my computer with the remote app, as opposed to just connecting my iphone to the transmitter and then i can't really use the iphone. also it says you can plug the transmitter into a 3.5mm or RCA audio output, does the iMac have one of these? and do you think i would be able to just plug the transmitter into the iMac and play my music on the speakers outside with the remote they provided as opposed to the remote app. oh and also i have a time capsule - probably doesn't help or hurt the situation. thanks for any help.

Those speakers have nothing to do with the AirPort Express (AX). You don't need an AX to use those speakers and an AX would be just an added expense.
The remote app on the iPhone would not control the music going to those speakers. The remote app on the iPhone controls iTunes running on a computer.

I've managed to play music wirelessly from my macbook to the express/stereo, however i cant surf the web because i can only presume i haven't set up the express to join my sky network. So therefore the only way to surf the web at the moment is swap wireless devices from express back to my current sky network, then the airplay stops obviously.
I've tried to join the express to my sky network/netgear router, at face value it looks simple. The sky network name automatically comes up and then all i have to do is select the correct wireless security which i haven't got a clue which one my sky/netgear router is using, then type in the password which i presume is the network key number on the back of the netgear router? However its not connecting?? I am doing something wrong?
Can someone please give me some guidence on how to connect express to my current network?

Suggest that you ask Sky what type of wireless security that is used on the devices that they provide.
Once you have that information, you can choose the correct matching setting when you configure the AirPort Express to "join" the Sky wireless network.
The "password" would be the normal phrase that you use to connect to your wireless network at the present time.

Yes, AUX in jack. Radio shack may be required to make sure your connectors are compatible. For example, you may need a standard RCA splitter to mini-RCA. The mini-RCA (3.5mm) is for the airport express while the dual (red-black) for your AUX in. Hard to say without seeing the connectors.
Itunes on Mac sends music to airport express (you select it in iTunes), the airport express sends the music out via the mini-RCA, your CD player auxillary input converts the RCA signal to sound.

Getting jamming/static sound when trying to play music or radio...stops when I exit iTunes...tried uninstalling/re-installing

Yesterdy, started to get a jamming/static sound despite trying to play music or the radio...only static....

Time machine and playing music wirelessly

I currently have a MacBook Pro and a iPhone and would like to back-up and print wirelessly as well as playing music wirelessly from my Mac and iPhone.
Am I right in thinking that I would be able to do this with both a Time Capsule (for the printing and back-up) and a AirPort Express (fot the music). The Time Capsule liked to the printer via USB and connected to my WiFi and my Mac would just back-up to this no problem. Then the AirPort Express is neeed as an interface between my speakers and mt Mac/iPhone, AirPort linked to speakers then I can just send music fom both my iPhone and Mac wirelessly to the AirPort to play through my speakers?
Also, if this is the case, is there any advantage the Time Capsule has to any other WiFi external hard drive?

Yes, all your thinking is good, except the printer cannot be connected to the TC by USB.. it has to be a wireless printer that conforms to the airprint standard. That is if you want to natively print from iOS..
If that is not a concern then you can print to a USB printer but you need an app for your ios device.. like printopia.. there are several of them.
The advantage of the TC is it ties in neatly to this network.. nothing else does. Apple routers do not make themselves work wirelessly with other brands. So if you want wireless in particular that works then the TC is the go.. it is also the cheapest (the 2TB that is). You might find cheaper external hard disks. but nothing with router and wireless built in.

Getting message "file cannot be found" when trying to play music in iTunes

When trying to play ANY music in my iTunes Library I get the message that the file containing the music cannot be found. I recently updated to the latest version of iTunes - is this the problem or is it something else?? I thought that at least the songs purchased from the iTunes Store would play but they do not. I receive the same message which asks if I want to attempt to locate the file. I click yes and that takes me to the iTunes Library which gets me nowhere. Anyone have any ideas????? I have used iTunes for years with no problems before this.

First, try Repairing Disk Permissions. Quit all open applications. Launch Disk Utility, it's in your Applications/Utilities folder. Select MacintoshHD 10.x.x in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab, then click Repair Disk Permissions. Only takes a few minutes to run, then Quit Disk Utility. Reboot your PBook and launch iTunes. See if you can play a track...
If not... with iTunes open, select iTunes Store, then from the Menu Bar, click Store/Authorize Computer and see if that works. If that doesn't work ...
Quit iTunes. Try dragging the com.apple.iTunes.plist file from the HD/Users/YourName/Library/Preferences folder to your Desktop. Launch iTunes and see if you can play tracks. If you can, drag that file back to the Preferences folder. If not, drag that file to the Trash, empty the Trash and reboot. It could be your iTunes preferences file is corrupted and needs replacing. Your Mac will create a new pref file for you the next time you launch iTunes.

ITunes crashes when trying to play music

When I try to play music, either by double clicking on a song, or by clicking on it, and then play, it crashes iTunes. I was able to listen to it yesterday, but today I have not.
Although I cant play music, I can still go into Music Store and listen to the 30 sec clips.
I have tried
-Reinstalling iTunes
-Restarting my Computer
-Deleting playlists, songs, etc (By Deleting the stuff in My Music\iTunes)
-Deleting temporary files
-Looking across the internet for possible reasons for my error
After crashing, I get this information:

Trying to play music via bluetooth?

I just purchased a gear4 HouseParty Rise Wireless 2 and I've managed to pair both my iPhone and MacBook Pro via bluetooth with it.
When playing the music through my iPhone via bluetooth, there is no problems whatsoever. But when I play music through my MacBook and select "Use as Audio Device" in the bluetooth menu, the MacBook connects fine, but there is no sound coming out of the stereo.
Is there a reason for this? or a fix?

I've done that, and still no sound is coming out the speakers....
It does say the "type" of the device is Bluetooth Headphones, when its a stereo, if that makes any difference?

My approach to having iTunes via my stereo has been this. My TV is hooked up to my stereo, as is my AppleTV. I use homesharing to send my iTunes thru the ATV and thus the stereo. I happen to use an Airport Extreme (the Time Capsule version) but any wireless router (obviously get an "h" speed router) would work.
As far as your 256 vs Lossless format, yes there is a difference, but the question is will you hear it? I'd advise you to play a song straight from the cd and switch back and forth with the iTunes 256 (standard compression) version. If you really don't hear a difference then it isn't worth it to re-rip all those songs.
What I've done in considering this question is to rip a few cd's which I tend to really love listening very closely to, using the lossless format, and the rest at standard, which is still very good. (And I'm a recording musician who pays attention to such things.)

Trying to play music almost always makes phone restart

I don't know if this is the right place to post this but its better then not posting.
Ever since the latest WebOS Update, 1.4.1 or something, almost every time i try to play music my phone restarts. It happens either when I open the app and attempt to search for a song or when I am listening to the music and I try to do something. The only time it works is when I get it to play and then I don't touch the phone.
Last night I was able to listen to music all night after dealing with it restarting four times then turning off WiFi and it works. However, when i got a call in the morning it thought the headphones were plugged in and I couldn't hear the person but I could hear the ring tone when the phone rang.
Earlier today I was listing to music and turning the volume up and down and when ever I changed the volume the phone would unlock itself so it keeps changing songs while in my pocket. Then after that the phone restarts but I still hear the music playing for half of the restart. I deal with that and try to play music again and then the phone restarts again.
The never did this before the update and almost never restarts on its own when the music app is not running. I also do not have any other apps running when it does this.

Do any of your music files have double-byte or non-US character names or ID3 tags? We have seen evidence in the past where these types of files may cause some problems, and if this applies to you, please try removing those files and see if the problem resolves.
If it does, we would like to collect log files related to that specific issue. If not, we can continue other possible troubleshooting steps.

"Unexpected error (-3)" when trying to play music or video

Ever since I updated my Z10 with the latest upgrade of Blackberry Maps, I can't play music or vdeos. Clicking on any of the music titles or video titles, the message appears: "Unexpected error (-3)".
Anybody any suggestions how to solve this?
