Trying to port map but there's a hitch

Hello all,
I would like to set up a port map so I might be able to tunnel in to my Mac from work. Simple to do with the AEBS but here's the rub:
One, my AEBS is set up in bridge mode and the Airport Utility pane allowing for port mapping is not visible.
Two, the main router to which I have it connected is a DLINK DIR-655 using a DHCP range of IPs for our apartment's various devices and other friends who bring over their odd techbits. I know in order to have a successful and secure SSH/VNC connection (my ultimate goal) I need to establish a static IP for my MAChine.
Three, my roommate is not exactly forthcoming with the settings or the password for the router admin login so getting access to try different settings is to put it mildly, difficult.
With the vast volume of knowledge out there, what might be a solution for how to set this up?
Also, I am using both the VNC Viewer and iSSH apps for the iPod/iPhone to remote in. So anyone with knowledge of these might help illuminate what I need to do in order to get it working is also appreciated.

I suggest that you download yourself a copy of the User Manual for this particular router directly from D-Link's web site. I found the manual here: D-Link Xtreme N Gigabit Router

Yes, for both UDP & TCP. (ref: List of TCP and UPD port numbers)
The issue for me then is mixing dynamic and static IPs. Is it possible to establish a range of DHCP IPs for other machines (and there are many) and a static IP for my MAChine?
Yes. Like the AEBS, this particular D-Link router has the ability to make DHCP Reservations. (ref: pg 26) You would use this feature to assign a "static" IP address that will be provided to your device by the router's DHCP server.
With the AEBS being supplied its own dynamic IP right now, I would have to change that as well in order for this to work.
You should also be able to use the DHCP Reservation feature to assign a static IP address to the AEBS.

I've tried several pass codes and now am locked out for an hour after being locked out for 5 minutes and then 15 minutes. It said that I had tried 7 pass codes prior to these, but I don't remember ever trying to get into restrictions before.
I've looked up other posts on this, and my phone was purchased in the US and does not have an AE in the model number.

We are fellow users here on these user-to-user forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple.
The reset link for the security question will send the email to your rescue email account : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312 - that is the email account that you are checking, and you've checked the spam folder on it as well as the inbox, and tried clicking the reset link again ?
If you aren't receivineg the email then you will need to contact Support in your country to get the questions reset.

When they've been reset you can then use the steps half-way down the HT5312 link above to view your rescue email address to check that it's correct, in case you need to use it in the potential future use

I have a macbook pro os x 10.7.5 and my mail dispappeared from my dock. I cannot get it to reopen. Have tried keychain first aid but there is no problem.

I have used the spotlight to find Mail, and have tried several more times to open the mail, but it closes with the same pop up. There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

Help! I can't update itunes because I deleted quicktime then tried to reinstall quicktime but there are components that won't be uninstalled

Ok. So a while ago quicktime got deleted (but only partially) which won't allow me to reinstall it to fix it. The error with quicktime affected my itunes which I can no longer open. I tried to reinstall everything but I get an error because 1) the older version of bonjour cannot be removed and 2) an older version of quicktime cannot be removed which then says that itunes can not be installed without quick time. But I also cannot delete everything to reinstall. Because when I try to delete either Bonjour or quicktime I get this message: the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable!
I have performed a search on my hard drive to find all quicktime files to try to delete but it won't let me delete the last three files and gives me this message when I attempt to delete: Cannot delete file. Cannot read from the source file or disk. And the other two only allow me the option to open containing folder, copy or extract....
I also made changes on the registry according to someone else' instructions to see if that would solve the problem, restarted the computer but that didn't help either.
Nothing has allowed me to reinstall itunes back onto my computer and without itunes, I can not sync my iphone and get updated! I am using Windows XP by the way

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour and QuickTime entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp. Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

I'm trying to use DUBturbo but there is a weird problem

Trying to reinstall macbookPro, but there are no working disc to erase from under disctool

My MacbookPro suddenly decided to shut down and when I tried to turn it on again I got the white screen with the question mark on, so I turned it on again and restarted it the way it said online with cdm+R and I came straight to the Internet restart and got through, but when I came to the choices none of them work. I can't find a disc to erase from and the Macintosh disc that a lot of people get up does not show up. I can not reinstall the OS because there is no disc to install it in. I have not a backed up anything and does not need it either(if I can have what I have on it back then that is the best, but it is not necessarily) I just really need to get back into it! Please help!

Install or Reinstall OS X from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Erase the hard drive:
1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
2. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the
      left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
3. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on
      the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass. Click on
      the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
           because it is three times faster than wireless.
This should install the version of OS X that you had installed.

Because you didn't previously set up a rescue email address; this isn't the same as an alternate email address. Creating one requires supplying two of the answers.

We rented a movie, purchased it and downloaded it. now a few days later we tried to watch it but there is an "error loading this movie, please try again later" HELP!

I selected to rent and watch now instead of rent and watch later. I tried to watch it now and it said it would be available in 6 hours or something silly like that (certainly out of the realm of NOW ) Anyway.... I tried to play it several times and the time it said I had to wait did go down. 5 hours to 3 hours to 2 hours and so on but this was an all day and next day kinda thing. I guess I was downloading it for 2 days. I figured id just get up the next day and try again NOW the movie has been removed from the rented section all together. It's gone...my time is up!!! I haven't even watched it yet. It was downloading for 2 days. I know I can adjust my settings to download a lesser quality and thats fine for NEXT time but I paid $5 to rent a movie that I never started watching because it never finished downloading! I wonder if because I selected Rent and Watch Now (joke) it assumed even though it was still downloading that it started my time at initial time of purchase? If so that's crap too. Anybody have similar experience?

Need help with port mapping on Airport Utility 6.1

Ive been trying to port map on my TC with Airport Utility 6.1 and failing miserably. Port still closed. Can anyone advise where Im going wrong? Am trying to set up my home camera to be viewed outside.
I managed to key in the ports etc under Network and Port Settings. But nothing works. I'm tearing my hair out.
Any suggestions to try would be helpful.

Use the 5.6 utility.. it is much easier and I think works better.. although you cannot load 5.6 directly into 10.8 the version for Lion actually works fine.

Open the AU 5.6 dmg and drag the pkg over the open unpkg.. it will create the directory on the desktop. You can either run it from there or drag the utility to your utilties directory.
Take screen shots of each step. Post them here.
That way we can tell you where it has gone wrong.
What port exactly does the camera need open?
How are you connecting remotely?
ie do you have a fixed public IP?? If not how are you getting IP?
Is the TC the only router in the network.. it is irrelevant unless the TC is the one and only router.
