Trying to preview a song

When I try to preview a song before purchasing I receive the message that the movie cannot be played. Now I am not looking at movies or videos, so please tell me what's going on????

Fixed in Sound Preferences. For some reason, the 10.6.2 'upgrade' selected an external Bluetooth module with no sound output capacity I temporarily have in a USB port as default.

Try my script FindTracks. Select a few of the missing files to start with then run the script. Choose No at the first prompt so that you can check how it works track by track, then confirm or edit the location of the media folder where your files are. Once you are happy with how it behaves let it process larger numbers of tracks automatically.

I am not getting any sound on playback or on preview of songs.

I cannot get any sound from my computer when playing songs through ITunes. Nothing from my playlist or trying to preview a song to buy it. Everything else plays just fine through the computer. All sounds are turned up to maximum volume and nothing appears to be on mute. Any suggestions?

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

HT1567 trying to preview song but only plays for 5 seconds

When i preview a song it will only play for 5 seconds instead of the 1min/half it allows. I 've never had this problem before. I update the software, but it still will not allow me to listen to the song no more tham 5 seconds

I have had this problem for quite awhile. Sometimes the preview plays all the way through, or not. I had it in the previous version and now the new version. There is no help from Apple/iTunes. It seems odd that WE must continue to try and find the solution to THEIR errors without any comments or help from Apple.

Ive been trying to preview songs on itunes, using my iphone and computer. Typically when previewing a song, it loads and its a blue color and it will play. Now when i try to preview, it stays black, and loads super fast and theres no sound. And I seem to be getting different prices on albums every time i click on one. Its just being really weird.

The number of devices authorized on an account and the number that an iPhone can sync to are two different things. You can now authorize up to 5 computers or 10 devices to play your content, but still an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch can only be tied to one computer at a time. You can copy content from other computers to the computer used for syncing, and get it on the iPhone that way.
Connect the phone to that computer, whichever you want to be the "master" of the iPhone. Click on its name in iTunes. On the right there is a Summary screen. Scroll down it and you will see several checkboxes. One of them is "Manually manage music and videos". If this is checked you must drag content from iTunes to the iPhone. If you have a large library, however, this can be cumbersome.
The alternative is to leave this box unchecked, and instead click on the "Music" tab when the phone is connected. You can then just check the content you want on the phone, by artist, genre, title, playlist, etc. After checking you click the "Update" or "Sync" button and everything you have checked syncs automatically.

Is there a glitch in the ITunes store system preventing preview of songs or purchasing songs to download at this time?

What's up with the ITunes store? I have uninstalled and reinstalled Itunes and have tried unsuccesssfully to purchase for download a song. Not only that I can't preview the song first. I can play what I already have but forget about getting new stuff. that's NOT working. I've run every antivirus program thinking it was malware or something conflicting with Itunes store.

Hey guys,
I am trying to purchase new music. When I go to preview a song to ensure that I want to purchase it, I click on the song icon to preview and it flips around to start playing the preview and then immediately turns back again without ever playing a preview...Is this a constant iTunes issue or is there a way to fix it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

it is possible its a small glitch i would recommend trying it a few times with difrent songs and if that doesn't work its most likely a small glitch

Is there any way to fix it so my computer will stop "rebuffering" when I preview a song on itunes.

When I preview a song on itunes it will play for only a couple of seconds and then it "rebuffers". It does this constantly. I do not have this issue when I preview a song on Amazon or if I listen to Pandora radio. Is there any way to fix this?

Could be many things, we should start with this...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive & clear caches.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.
If that doesn't work we may have to reinstall AW6...

So i was on itunes and was previewing a song and my ipod just went off and wont turn back on..what should i do?

So i was using the itunes already provided on my ipod and i was previewing a song and my ipod just shut off. Then, when i tried to turn it back on, the screen flashed quickly a light grey color and shut back off. Now it wont do anything and i cant make it come back on....what should i do?

Help! I'm a pretty new user and just upgraded my 7.0 iTunes software to 7.1. When I go the iTunes Store and preview a song, it crashes all of iTunes. Help!

I am having same exact problem. Previous version of iTunes worked. I upgraded Tuesday the 6th to 7.1.0.59 and when I tried to play a song I get the message "itunes has encounted a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." I unistalled and re-installed. I tried installing a older version and couldn't open library in older version because libraries were created with newer version. So I reinstalled the 7.1.0.59 again.
Tonite (March 7th) called apple support and the tech support had me uninstall iTunes and QuickTime Again!! She had me disable my firewall and re-install. She dropped off the line before the re-install was complete and told me if this didn't work it was my computer!!!
I hope apple addresses this quickly. The previous version was working 15 minutes before I installed 7.1.0.59
I can play my purchased iTunes and videos with Quicktime.

I have an iPhone 4S, 16 GB. I'm trying to sync selected songs to my phone by clicking them and dragging them onto my device. Every song copied nicely onto there till I got up to 66. After that, I try to sync more and suddenly they won't show up on there.?

I've already read some of these discussions and tried to resolve the issue by turning off my computer and phone, and turning them back on again, and the problem still remained. I couldn't sync more than 66 songs onto it. So I continued to look up more articles and quite a few said to restore my iPhone, and so I did. I restored with a recent backup and made sure I had the latest version of iTunes installed. And so after I cleared off my phone and restored it, I went to put those songs back onto there, and once again when I got up to 66 songs, it wouldn't let me put any more on there. So I thought that was enough and decided to sign up myself on here to ask a question to the community. Anyone who's willing to give me a good answer or more possible answers, please reply to this question ASAP! Please and thank you!

Ok, sorry. And yes, I just restored my iPhone as new and tried to put all the songs on there before I even restored with my previous backup, but it still does the same thing... even when I just checked the option to sync only "selected music or videos". How's that possible?
P.S. After I tried syncing with checked songs only, nothing showed up under Music on my phone and this message popped up in iTunes: "The iPhone "..." could not be synced because the sync session failed to finish." If you could, please tell me what that means, thanks.

If you didn't establish a rescue email address, you will need to call applecare support. Ask for account security to reset your security questions. After the advisor is able to verify your identity, they can reset your security questions.
