Trying to print a custom envelope

I want to print some snowflakes on a custom-size envelope. I can check off the custom size okay but I can't find where to tell PSE3 the actual size of the envelope.
In Editor>Print it previews as an outline within an 8.5 x 11 size sheet of paper. (Hope that's clear.) The paper (envelope) size is 7.25 in. x 5.25 in.
Anybody help? Thanks.

Jack,
Go >File >Print >Page Setup >Printer >Properties, which should get you to a
dialog box where you can select or enter different sizes. Choose your sizes
and click OK (about twice), and the preview should show your image in that
size format.

I'm trying to print a custom envelope from Address book using one of my groups. I keep getting a No Pages were selected message. Anybody have any Ideas?

Hello, I find that only entries with Home or Work filled in with an address will show.
Might try right clicking on this link & saving Apple's Addy, then import this vCard, select it & see if it shows one envelope...

  • Trying to print Christmas card envelopes

I have a photosmart D7260 printer and am trying to print Christmas card envelopes, not a standard size, and Word allowed me to enter the size but the printer refuses to recognize it as the right size, says Mismatched size paper

    lisaps:
The default paper size of the greeting card is 7" x 10". You need to be able to print a borderless 7 x 10 which is not supported by most printers. If you have a 3rd party editor, like Photoshop Elements, that can handle layers check out my Tutorial No. 8 for a method to print borderless cards.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • HELP! Trying to print on an envelope (logo/return address), but when change page/paper size, prints blank page

Before now, I have really only used Acrobat to convert and send uneditable documents (just to give you an idea that I am not used to trying to edit docs or print them out in paper sizes other than 8.5 x 11.  However, I have a document (created by a graphic designer) that was designed to be viewed as a sample, not really to be printed and now want to print it directly on an envelope.  I have created a custom paper size in the Print Setup menu and have also cropped the PDF page size to be similar (although not exact) to the envelope size.  When I try to print it, my printer prints out a blank page.
    Any thoughts?

You need to select the paper size in the printer setup that corresponds to the letter size that you are using.  If you just crop to the approximately correct size you may find that the orientation of the page is wrong and various scaling options in the print dialog box can further confuse the issue.

  • I am trying to print on an envelope but the feeder tray alignment won't hold the envelope steady.

    Hi JoensPounder,
The product you have is a commercial printer. I suggest posting in the forum for HP Business Support for a better chance at finding a solution.

  • 8600 Won't Print to Custom Size Envelopes

I used to have an HP Office Jet 7410 and was able to print all the addresses for my holiday cards on custom envelope sizes - nothing too out of the ordinary, but not #10.  I have now upgraded (or at least I thought I was upgrading) to the 8600 Premium printer and spent hours trying to print to custom envelope sizes.  Even after over an hour with tech support trying to help they finally told me the envelope size was not supported by this printer.  She did try to trick it into using a different printer driver but that did not work either.  I find it hard to believe that a high end all in one printer like this cannot do what the much older version did.  Is there a workaround?

I have tried to install the deck jet 9800 as you suggested.  I am using an ethernet to connect and run as I otherwise use it wireless.  It is not sending to the printer.  I have 125 wedding invitation envelopes to print and am ready to pull out my hair.  Please help

Additionally, yes you will lose some functionality through those driver (such as scanning), however there is an easy solution to that problem. Just install both drivers on the computer and only use the alternate 990c (or Deskjet 9800) driver only when you want customized envelopes.
For the second question, I cannot speak for the company or their decisions in the future, I do know that the feature was removed to cut down on hardware problems and because of that our printers have become more reliable.
I hope you have a great day!

  • Printing on thick envelopes on OJ 8500A

I am trying to print on thick envelopes on my OJ 8500A which can not "travel" the normal paper path.  There is a door on the back of the duplexer unit that looks like it should allow me to have the envelopes pass right through the back of the printer.  However, if I open it, the envelope still comes out the front of the printer.
Am I wrong about the purpose of the door on the duplexer or am I not doing something right?

  • Custom envelope for sound not working? Flash CS5

I'm trying to set a custom envelope for a sound in Flash CS5. I can bring up the envelope editor fine. But, I find that all the control points are after the end of the sound itself. If I click on the waveform to create a new control point, the point momentarily appears where I click it, then automatically jumps to the end of the waveform. If I try and drag any of the control points from after the waveform to during it, they just automatically pop to the end of the waveform.

Strange. After I wrote the previous post, Flash crashed. And now after starting it up again, the Custom Envelopes are working properly.

  • Printing from Custom Page Size

I am trying to print on custom DVD cover paper, 8.25 by 11.75", 1/2 margins with perferations on those margins. I set it all up and the program prints too far to the left and too far down, missing the set margins, 1/2 inch all around,  and the pereferations. Let's hope someone can help me out.
I have been trying to solve this for quite a while. My work around is print on legal paper and trim. Or, I was told, save as a PDF and print that, which I have yet to try
I have done all kinds of fliers and brochures and never has this problem until I got into custom page size.
    I suspect "Operator Error".
I have the same problem on two diifferent system set ups.
Win 2000, PageMaker and an HP printer, DeskJet 932 .
Vista, InDisign, an Epson Printer Artisan 50 Series, brand new.
I can set it up perfectly in the program and on the screen in either program but no matter what I do it will not print out correctly. I have combed through the printer settings and can find nothing wrong, but there is a solution someplace.
    Thank you!
    Cheers!  Phil

How far "off" is the positioning? +/- a few mm is the best you can hope for on a desktop printer, with some drift from sheet to sheet being very likely.
If it's more than that, it might be that's you've included marks and/or set page positioning to upper left instead of centered.

  • How can my CP1515n laserjet print on glassine envelopes

Glassine envelopes jamming when trying to print - not sure if they are too light - I have tried different paper selections but can't seem to find the right one (if there is a right one!) Any ideas?

Hi , I read your post and see that when trying to print on Glassine envelopes, they are causing a paper jam. I would like to help you.
The recommended paper weight for envelopes is 24lb. Printer Specifications for HP Color LaserJet CP1514n, CP1515n and CP1518ni Printers. The Glassine Envelopes are translucent and acid free with a wax paper-like finish. Most likely they are not compatible with the printer. You could try setting the paper type to plain paper, to see if that makes a difference. If you appreciate my efforts, please click the 'Thumbs up' button below. Thank You.

  • Custom Envelope Print Problem

3210 all-in-one gives error message when I try to print 5.75" x 8.75" envelope using Word (Vista OS)
.  I went into Printer Preferences on the PC, right-clicked on the printer and set up the custom envelope saving the name.  However, the size doesn't appear in Word's envelope "Options" diaglog box.  Consequently, printer doesn't recognize envelope size.
Does anyone have any ideas why Word isn't recognizing the saved custom envelope size.
    Thanks.

Hello, Last night I spent forever figuring that out, but not the way I think Vista & HP would do it.  I kept getting the paper doesn't match error message, too.  I finally figured out that I could:
    1) Create a regular Word file (I did not use an envelope template)  with landscape orientation.
    2) Enter the return address & delivery address information (it was a funny greeting card, so I used word art) using text boxes with no borders (unless you want borders.)  You can move the text boxes where you think they should go on the envelope by left clicking to get the brackets & then holding the mouse down while you arrange the text.
    3) Go to Print, then Properties, go to the Printing Shortcuts tab & select landscape orientation there, too.  Click okay.
    4) You're back in the first print dialog box, & down in the bottom right corner where it says Scale to paper size, select A5.
    5) Remove all the other paper from the tray & load your envelope in the main (bottom tray) face down, feeding lengthwise (remember it is landscape orientation), all the way to the right of the tray with the envelope closure toward the middle of the tray.
    6) Now move the guide bar that is on the left of the tray over to secure it in place (I think that also lets the printer sensor know you're not using full size paper.)
    7)  Click OK & it voila!!  It prints!
I went back in to the file & realized that it did not save my settings to do another, so you may need to do it each time.  To make sure you have everything where you want it, you can print out a test print on regular size paper & hold it up to your envelope to fine tune the placement of address, etc, & to ensure you load the envelope the right way.  & then remove all the other regular paper, & load the one envelope & pull the guide bar over.  You may need to check that those settings are still in place before you print the envelope after the test one, but once you get the hang of it you can do great envelopes with your cards, & even spruce them up with google images, or other graphics that the regular envelope settings don't do.I am sure there is a "proper" way to do this, but this worked so why not!  Good luck.

  • Trying to print a smiple 3 1/2 X 6 1/2 envelope and printer says too small for the job.I can print

Printer gives me an error message saying a 3 1/2 X 6 1/2 envelope is too small for job.  However, I can print other envelopes with no problem.  ex. 4 1/2 X 10.  Printer model is a C6280.

  • M251nw custom envelope printing issue - "cleaning"

Has anyone got any instructions to print custom envelope sizes for the M251nw using MAC OS? I am using 10.9.2.
I have set-up the correct custom size in the print dialog box, but it's just not printing out in the right spot. Do I need to download another driver? Also you have to click OK on the printer itself to laod the paper through every time and it does 'clean' itself after each print also. Can this be by-passed?
    Many thanks.

    Hi,
Please open the document  you are printing click on file and print on the printer properties window
Paper Size: Use options in this pop-up menu to choose the type of paper currently in your printer’s paper tray this drop down will have custom paper size option you can set your custom paper size here.
