Trying to print Christmas card envelopes

I have a photosmart D7260 printer and am trying to print Christmas card envelopes, not a standard size, and Word allowed me to enter the size but the printer refuses to recognize it as the right size, says Mismatched size paper

The default paper size of the greeting card is 7" x 10". You need to be able to print a borderless 7 x 10 which is not supported by most printers. If you have a 3rd party editor, like Photoshop Elements, that can handle layers check out my Tutorial No. 8 for a method to print borderless cards.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. Iphoto 7 no longer allows me to print christmas cards

I'm trying to print christmas cards, like I have for years, but now iphoto 7 is no longer supported, when i try to upgrade iphoto, it tells me i also need to upgrade my operating system (OSX 10.6.8)... really? do I need a whole new "computer" to print these cards? And this makes no sense at all - there is no phone number and when you call the phone number (that you can not see) they tell you that you are not eligible ??????????????

If I paste the jpeg on a draw page and shrink it to fit, fuzzy print. If I create the text directly on a draw page, it's fine. (That suggests to me the problem isn't in the printer.) But I want to include a small drawing on the card, and the pasted jpeg of that small drawing is very poor quality.

Hello, I find that only entries with Home or Work filled in with an address will show.
Might try right clicking on this link & saving Apple's Addy, then import this vCard, select it & see if it shows one envelope...

TRYING TO PRINT ROLODEX CARDS FROM ADDRESS BOOK

HELP PLEASE,
I AM TRYING TO PRINT A LIST FORM ON AVERY 5386 ROLODEX CARDS AND I SIMPLY CAN NOT CONFIGURE THE SETTING TO WORK. I CAN GE THE MAILING LABELS PRINTED BUT NOT ALL THE LIST INFO I NEED. ANY IDEAS.

I worked on this some more and figured out how to get my files into Word and hence onto the Rolodex cards:
*under Preferences in Address Book choose Vcard, change to 2.1 and keep Western text
*export chosen cards to desktop from File dropdown (remember to return your Preferences Vcard setting to 3.0)
*Open Word
*choose open document and import Vcard file, you get a long list which you will then have to modify (I put returns for the Begin Vcard text to seperate cards), choose the lines you want printed, format text, size, etc
*following rolodex printer card instructions you can merge your formated data and print!
Yay, finally. Why doesn't Apple allow this simple type of programability, even labels have been a chore for me.

I would like to design a christmas card (like I can so on line with snapfish) using a photo I supply and then print them on my photosmart 7520 on standard 4x6 photo paper. How can I do this? Do I need special software?

HELP! Trying to print on an envelope (logo/return address), but when change page/paper size, prints blank page

Before now, I have really only used Acrobat to convert and send uneditable documents (just to give you an idea that I am not used to trying to edit docs or print them out in paper sizes other than 8.5 x 11. However, I have a document (created by a graphic designer) that was designed to be viewed as a sample, not really to be printed and now want to print it directly on an envelope. I have created a custom paper size in the Print Setup menu and have also cropped the PDF page size to be similar (although not exact) to the envelope size. When I try to print it, my printer prints out a blank page.
Any thoughts?

You need to select the paper size in the printer setup that corresponds to the letter size that you are using. If you just crop to the approximately correct size you may find that the orientation of the page is wrong and various scaling options in the print dialog box can further confuse the issue.

Trying to print 4x6 cards from MacBook

I have an HP 8620 all-in-one printer and an Apple MacBook. For a year now we have been printing virtually everything and anything. Today I attempted to print a 4x6" card, but all that came out was black--no text. So we tried printing it on 8 1/2x11--that came out just fine. Tried printing it from pdf--came out just fine. Went back to print the 4x6--came out all black. The preview looks good, we checked the options...there is just nothing that tells us what is going wrong with this one item. Is there a pre-set for cards somewhere that is the problem? Thank you! Sorry, I had to put this under "Windows Tablets" since HP obviously does not wish to be bothered by Apple MacBook users. We WILL remember this the next time we go to buy an all-in-one printer. I hear Canon is pretty good. Anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks!

Hi , I see by your post that you are getting a full black page when printing on 4 x 6 cards only. I would be happy to help you.
Check the driver name that is installed for the printer. Make sure it shows just the printer's name.
Click the Apple menu and then click System Preferences. Click Printers & Scanners, highlight the printer name on the left side and on the right side of the screen it should show the printer's name. (Officejet 8620)
If the full printer name isn't listed correctly, delete it and add the printer name back in from the list. Click the - sign to delete the driver and then click the + sign to add the driver, might have to click the drop down to select the printer's name to add it in. I have provided a document for the HP Officejet Pro 8610 Printers - Printing Photos (OS X).Check to make sure the paper size and type of paper is set correctly in the print driver. dlocker, could you provide a little bit more information for the community? Knowing the model Photosmart and operating system you are using could help narrow down troubleshooting. Other things like what application you are printing from and the steps you are using could be helpful as well.

Printing greeting card envelopes

In Microsoft Word there is an option to create a custom size envelope. In my printer software, I don't have that option and I want to print an envelope 5.5 x 8.5. Printer gives an error message that says wrong size. How can I fix this?

Hi, go to C8180 Printing Preferences > Features > Resizing Options / choose Custom > enter Name
"Env 5.5x8.5" > enter Width "5.5" > enter Length "8.5" > Save > OK > OK
Now go back Resizing Options / choose More... & select the "Env5.5x8.5" > Apply

Trying to print a custom envelope

I want to print some snowflakes on a custom-size envelope. I can check off the custom size okay but I can't find where to tell PSE3 the actual size of the envelope.
In Editor>Print it previews as an outline within an 8.5 x 11 size sheet of paper. (Hope that's clear.) The paper (envelope) size is 7.25 in. x 5.25 in.

Go >File >Print >Page Setup >Printer >Properties, which should get you to a
dialog box where you can select or enter different sizes. Choose your sizes
and click OK (about twice), and the preview should show your image in that
size format.

I am trying to make Christmas Cards to send out for the holidays, and I was wondering where I can find other templates for that use? I do not like the template provided by Adobe, and I was wondering if you know where I can find more, even if you can only provide a link. I also do not want to pay for it, but I will if it is mandatory. Thank you.

Printing on thick envelopes on OJ 8500A

I am trying to print on thick envelopes on my OJ 8500A which can not "travel" the normal paper path. There is a door on the back of the duplexer unit that looks like it should allow me to have the envelopes pass right through the back of the printer. However, if I open it, the envelope still comes out the front of the printer.
Am I wrong about the purpose of the door on the duplexer or am I not doing something right?
