Trying to print in Landscape.
I'm trying to pring something in landscape but the printing starts at the bottom and is shifted to the right about 3 inches. What can I do to start at the top of the page and left aligned? Thanks
g2d.translate( format.getImageableX(), format.getImageableY() );
g2d.rotate( Math.PI / 2.0 );
Please somebody help me out. Thanks

I'm trying to print an Ancestry document from an iPad 2 using air print. The printer is a Canon MG5350 (on the Apple approved list) I have no difficulty printing but only in portrait format. I've tried changing printer preferences from my computer but even though the Canon accepts the changes it will not print landscape - can anyone advise please?
Hi,
How do you connect the printer to the XP machine ? If USB, you need to make that machine as a Print server. Please try this:

When I try to print from I photo ie a A6 lanscape picture a page apears showing me how I want the picture on the selected paper and size ie "fill" I then press print and then a window apears showing how it will apear on the paper and it continously shows the paper as portrait and the picture I am trying to print appears in a lanscape form so that only the center of the picture is printed with two white areas apearing top and pottom. Why does the picture not print in the correct direction as the print page shows I selected landscape format. I hope you understand.

Go to File>print in Editor. In the dialog that comes up, you should see "Page Setup". Select "Portrait".
This assumes that the file is in portrait orientation as well, before sending it to the printer.
As for question #2, I am unaware of a numeric sequence such as you would like in this program. You can alter file size via File>save for web, however. -
CRVS2010 Beta 2 - report does not print in Landscape mode correctly
I am using Crystal Reports Beta 2 for Visual Studio 2010 on Windows XP. I am trying to print a report in landscape mode. The WPF Crystal Report Viewer displays the report correctly in landscape view. When I print it, it moves all the data to the center of the page, prints it in smaller font and to the left and cuts off a lot of the data on the right hand side.
I have tried various different suggested solutions from reading other forums and nothing seems to work. Is this a known Crystal Report Viewer issue?
Solutions I have already tried:
1. Page setup under Crystal Reports - selected no printer (optimize for screen display)
2. Page setup under Crystal Reports - checked dissociate formatting page size and printer paper size
3. Setting paper orientation and page orientation at run-time to landscape.
4. Printing to different printers
Something to note, I can export this report as a .pdf file and it prints perfectly from adobe. This only seems to be an issue when printing directly from the WPF Crystal Report Viewer to the printer.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! I have been stuck on this issue for a while...
Thanks!Hi Sharon,
There have been issues with printing and printers in CR 2008 and the same routines are in CR 2010. The patches we have done to help with standard paper sizes in CR 2008 are not in the Beta releases.
Not sure if they will make it into the GA release next month. As a work around I suggest you continue exporting to PDF and then printing the PDF file until they have been resolved and patches are available.
Thank you

How do I set my printer to print in landscape?
When I print what do I do to get it to print in landscape?
Thank you for your reply. However, I could not get Templates to work correctly for me. Following your instructions, I opened my document, opened Page Setup, set the printer, paper size, orientation, and printed a copy to make sure it was right. Then I re-opened Page Setup to verify that the settings were still correct. Then I saved the document as a Template. Then I found my template in Pages, opened the template, and tried to print. The first thing I noticed was that the template did not remember my printer. Then I set the printer, and printed, but I found that the template also did not remember the page size or the document orientation. So, did I miss a step here? Lion 10.7.5 and Mac Mini.

Acrobat 9 prints half landscape page from windows 7 home
Acrobat 9 reader prints to 1/2 page in landscape mode. The only way I could get it to print correctly in portrait mode, full page was to choose advanced print option and select "Print as Image". I have tried every combination of print dialog settings, updated my printer driver, updated acrobat, and nothing else worked. Every other application works fine except acrobat 9. How can I get acrobat to print a full portrait page without selecting print as image?
I also have this problem, and I am thankful you guys wrote to "print as image". I believe it is a glitch between Xerox printers and Adobe Reader/Adobe Reader X. I was hooked up to Xerox Phaser 8560DN-279 and all .pdfs were printing in half page, booklet form. I uninstalled and reinstalled my printer driver along with uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe Reader. Tried re-printing and it still printed in booklet form. I then attached my computer to an HP printer, and it printed fine, full 8.5x11. So I thought it was the printer connection. I then attached a 3rd printer to my computer, Xerox Phaser 8560MFP, and once again all .pdfs were printed in booklet form. So it seems to be to be a problem with adobe reader and xerox printers.

Odd results when trying to print a booket
I print a short run A5 booklet in house. It's printed on a Samsung CLP 610 colour Laser, which can duplex. The printer has it's own booklet protocol. The paper used is A4.
If I produce pages in CS4 at A5 size and try to print them 2-up saddle stitch, they come out rotated and A6 size - like you were trying to print 4 up to A4.
The only way I can make it work is to produce the pages at A4 and use the printers booklet making facility. It then reduces them rotates them and imposes them in the right order.
This is OK as a work around, but I may want to go to an outside printer at some point and they will need A5 pages.
I must be missing something here - can anyone give me a blow by blow of how to achieve this while originating in A5 and using Indesign's page imposing?OK, I think I have it! Don't know if this will help anyone else,
but this is what I did:
Originate document as A5 facing pages.
Print booket, 2 up saddle stitch
Go to print settings and select the orientation with little man on his side, head to left(!)
In the printer driver, set the orientation to A4 landscape and double side on the short edge.
Result - success...

Print Layout Difficulties - printing in landscape mode
Haven't upgraded to Pages 2 yet; in the meantime, here's a question related to Pages 1:
How does one properly print in landscape mode directly from Pages? I'm trying to print a simple CD booklet, but all I get when printing directly from Pages is my page printed at the bottom of the page. This happens even when I select one of the landscape orientations (and I've tried all of them) from the Print Layout before printing.
I'd simply change the page setup, but Pages gives me no way to rotate any of the objects once my once-horizontal document is now vertically oriented.
On the other hand, if I do a print preview and save as PDF, I am able to print in landscape orientation from Preview. Which is fine, but having to take the extra two or three steps is frustrating.
Thanks,
Kevin

I'm a bit surprised (and intrigued) by this. Seems to me you're starting off right, and the only suggestion I have to make (directly, that is) is to check whether you've used the available scaling options: i.e., if your landscape mode fills only half the page, will 200% make it fill the lot - or is the landscape orientation just refusing to rotate your content? From what you say, maybe it is, and you'll have found the way around it. But it seems pretty odd to me that you can print from preview as you want, but not from the original. Maybe somebody else can shed some light on this for you.
But the most constructive reason I have for replying to you is that I do recall a CD booklet template - which might save you a lot of trouble. I can't tell whether it will suit you; but very likely it might.
You'll find it on Gerry Straathof's pagesuser.com. It's called Monkey Business CD Booklet, for a CD that was released with it, and the content would seem pretty flexible within the template: it could like as not suit a very different look from the sample shown. Please notice the conditions that go with it, but I think I summarise them fairly in that it's mainly the content that is protected, rather than use of the template.
In any case the site is live - it has a forum just like this one; and by the way Gerry seems to know his way around Pages pretty well, so you might like to put your question more directly to his notice by posting it on his site.
So I've no real answer to your question - but I hope helps you to find one.
Best Wishes and Good Luck. -
Cannot print in landscape mode?
Using Firefox 31.1.0 on CentOS 6
various HP Laserjet printers
Cant print in Landscape mode. Firefox is on the server and users connect to the server via LTSP thin clients and we prefer to use Firefox for this. One of our users needs to print in Landscape mode several times a day. We used to have Firefox 10 and this was not an issue.
Have tried multiple drivers from CUPS and none have let me print in Landscape. When printing in Landscape, it acutally prints out in Portrait mode but the right side of the page is cut-off. In terminal, as root, we went to system-config-printer, right click on printer, properties, and orientation is set to automatic rotation. When changing to landscape here, it prints in landscape but the top of the page is cutoff now, and that means that all the users connected to the server are going to print by default like this, because all using same CUPS.
I have centos 6 on my stand-alone desktop (not connected to desktop LTSP server) and Landscape printing does not work on Firefox either. It works on Chrome flawlessly, but we much prefer Firefox for work use.
Please help!Reset Firefox to its default state

Win Elements 7 won't print in landscape orientation
O.K. my PSE 5 will print in landscape orientation along the length of roll paper with an Epson Stylus 7600, but no matter what combinations I use with PSE 7, and making sure that at all stages the landscape icons/buttons are selected, PSE 7 won't print in anything else than portrait orientation and the image on the print page shows that, as does the print preview if I go to print. What is the issue here? I have tried deleting and reinstalling PSE 7 and also deleting the printer preferences at start up but this has no effect on the problem. I can edit in PSE 7, save the file, then reopen and print with PSE 5 with no problem, but that is not the point. I am using Win XP with 2G of ram and as pointed out, it works fine with PSE 5 with all my photo files.
Are you sure tht settings used re same in PSE5 & PSE7... Are you using Organizer or Editor for Printing?

How to change margins when printing in landscape
Hi all,
I have a network printer installed on Solaris 6. To get it to print in "landscape" i added a filter - like this:
Input types: any
Output types: landscape
Printer types: any
Printers: any
Filter type: slow
Command: /etc/lp/landscape.sh
The script: landscape.sh:
echo "^[&l1O"
cat -
echo "^[&l0O"
When i print like this: lp -dprinter -olandscape filename it prints in landscape. Problem is i cant set up any margins.
Printer is configurated like this:
Banner: on:Always
Content types: landscape
Device: /dev/null
Interface: /etc/lp/test
Printer type: unknown
Modules:
Options:
I tried to modify its interface file, but that had no effect. Here are the line i tried to modify
# PC-850, 12 cpi, 12 pkt, normal Courier, 6 col. Left Marg., 2 lin. TopMarg.
echo '\033(0N\033(s0p12.00h12.00v0s0b3T\033&a6L\033&2E\c'
How can i change the margins ?
Thank u all
ThomasIt sounds like either the font is corrupted or your AddressBook prefs are whacked.
You can check the font in FontBook > File> Validate Fonts, or in /Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/com.apple.AddressBook.plist move it to the desktop and restart.

How to setup default print to landscape in Reportviewer (printmode activex)
We have an ASP.NET (2008) application and use the ReportViewer Web Control to show a Crystal Report on the client browser.
- We set the "PrintMode" property to ActiveX in order to print to the client's local printer.
- We set up the Landscape in Crystal Report Page setup.
- We also put repdoc.PrintOptions.PaperOrientation = PaperOrientation.Landscape in the program.
The problem is when the user clicks the print icon, the report prints in portrait, not landscape.
Is there a solution for this or is this a software limitation?
Thanks. How to setup default print to landscape in Reportviewer (printmode activex)
Hi David,
Yes, I tried that 1196969 solution first, but it didn't work. I saw all the discussion in the below thread and it seems a product issue mention by you on Aug 6, 2008 3:19 PM
CrystalReportViewer default PageOrientation ASP.NET VS 2008
I don't know if the fix works for CrystalReportWebFormViewer4 which is what we have on the web server. I put debug alert in the Javascript of the following file
WindowsMicrosoft.NETv2.0.50727ASP.NETClientFilesCrystalReportWebFormViewer4crystalprinthost.html
I can see the call goes to the file, but won't get to the window.dialogArguments.paperorientation condition.
When I write out: window.dialogArguments.paperorientation; it pops up "undefined".
Is there any updated solution for CrystalReportWebFormViewer4?
Thank you!! -
Duplex printing of landscape form
Hello
I'm trying to print a form on both sides using landscape format. The back side is printed upside-down. Is there any proprty like 'Flip up/Flip over' in Adobe Live Designer?
Thank you very much in advance!
Regards,
AndreyI have found property Duplex Mode in LiveCycle Designer (Edit->Form properies->PDF Print options). It contains options Duplex Flip Long Edge and Duplex Flip Short Side, but it works when you print from LiveCycle Designer only... The form is printed always like with Flip Long Edge...

Printing to Landscape format, not Portrait
Hello,
I'm trying to turn a PDF that was created in Landscape format
into a Flash Paper SWF. When I drag the PDF onto Flash Paper, it
creates a SWF but in a Portrait (print) format. This isn't
acceptable because you can't read the content (unless you hold your
laptop sideways for the whole thing). I didn't see an option
anywhere in Flash Paper to set this. I imagine there must be a way
to do this? After additional research I have found that the only way to get my labels to consistently print in landscape is to edit them with a previous version of Crystal.
I had hoped that I could save to a previous version from Crystal 2008 but there is no option to do this. I was thinking this because MS Word and MS Excel can saave to previous versions (2007 will save to 95 etc.)
Hope this helps others.
Brad
