Trying to put iphoto back in
i trying to reinstall iphoto in my imac and it says only acceptable in 10.6 8 altho i had it before i put in a new hard drive lease advise
When you edit the song with Audacity or other audio editor be sure to do a Save As to the Desktop so you don't lose your original audio track. Then import the edited track (named appropriately) into iTunes and add it to the playlist you're using.

Hello,
I have a portable 500gb HD and I use it to put music and other stuff.
Earlier, out of the blue, all of my music from iTunes disappeared, and I tried to put it back by dragging my folder "music" from the external HD to iTunes, but the message "Attempting to copy to the disk Macintosh HD failed. The disk could not be read or written to." appears and nothing happens. Only 40 albums (the same ones every time) go into iTunes before the message appear.
I tried restarting the computer and nothing happened. This sounds more like a hardware issue, possibly a failing drive if you had mysteriously vanishing files and there are problems writing to your drive.. You could get better support on a forum for your Mac model or at lest one for your operating system version. Have you verified the disk with Disk Utility to see what it reports?

Trying to put movies back on my iPod touch 2, I had to reset it, now I keep getting error messages?
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reboot the computer
- Try another USB port and cable
- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

now i am really frustrated with it. Every single update has robbed me of battery power which began with about 8-10 hours of usage and now I am lucky if I get 2 hours. It isn't the battery. It has something to do with the updates to the OS. It was fine until the first one and it has only gotten worse each time. I have had three email accounts on here since they started with the message app and now it has gone crazy. It gives me a server error message each time. I put in the same settings for it as the ones on my laptop to no avail. I am ready to scream. I have worked for days trying to get this email account back on my BB playbook, NOT! And also I want another reader on here. Kobo is great, but I would love to have another option as well. I tried to put some pdf books on it a few days ago and they wouldn't show up when I put them on. Some did and some didn't. I am so frustrated with playbook. I have loved it till the last 2 weeks. Now, I am extremely frustrated to say the least. Well I have been upset about the battery thing almost from the get go. Can anyone help with the email thing. My email is a bellsouth account. I have 2 yahoo accounts on it and they seem to be fine, but afraid to take them off and re-put them all back on lest they should do the same thing.
There is nothing wrong with the OS update.
Delete ALL your email accounts.
Restart Playbook
Put the accounts back and ensure they are all set with PUSH ON. Manual (push off) will burn battery.
Similarly delete your wifi connections and add back when required.
Turn off wifi is not connected to wifi.
Any "hunting for connection" in email or wifi will burn up battery. -
Trying to get iphoto back on a post-Mavericks computer.
Have a circa 2009 laptop that ran a bought and paid for version iphoto just fine.
Foolishly tried to upgrade to Mavericks and discovered it turned the laptop into a virtual paper weight.
Rolled back to Snow Leopard 10.6.8
Iphoto was not included with that system disc, and now I cannot find iphoto without sourcing and buying it individually from a 3rd party.
The computer was registered. Apple knows the system and that iphoto came with this computer, but apparently I can not just download the software again.
Is this OK? Or is it incredibly lame?Once an application was going it was fine, but opening or switching between applications caused the beach ball to often spin for minutes at a time. I hadn't anticipated such a performance drop when I suggested upgrading to Maverick's.
That is frequently due to applications or tools, that install system modifications, but have not been updated to Mavericks compatible versions. These system modifications can cause hanging, crashes, and memory leaks. Look for device drivers, plug-ins, preference panes, that you installed, while still running Snow Leopard or earlier. The tool, Etrecheck, that Old Toad mentioned, can help you to track down such incompatible system modifications. -

Hi! I need help! I put my sim card into a new iphone (3g) and then tried to put it back into the old one to get my contacts from it. Now the old iphone is locked and it's asking for a passcode, but I never set up a passcode on it. Has anyone experienced this or does anyone know what to do? Thanks!
Not sure if this applies to your region, but in Australia the SIM password is often written on the "credit card" sized plastic card that the SIM was provided to you with the phone by the telco. Do you still have this? It could be in the iPhone box?

Trying got update iPhoto after OS update - This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled.
With Yosemite you need to update to iPhoto 9.6.
The error message means, that iPhoto has not been associated with your AppleID. You do not say, which iPhoto version you are trying to update from.
Associating iPhoto with your AppleID should have happened, when you bought the computer with iPhoto preinstalled with MacOS X Lion or later or with the Mavericks upgrade, if your Mac came with SnowLeopard. Try, if you can "accept" iPhoto now:
Sign into the AppStore with your AppleID
Open the "Purchased" tab. Do you see iPhoto with an "Accept" button?
Accepting associates your Apple ID with the preinstalled iPhoto. It should move iPhoto from the "Accept" portion of the App Store to the "Purchased" tab. After that, you should be able to update iPhoto from the Updates tab of the AppStore. If you do you not see the update there, try to buy iPhoto. iPhoto may show for free, so you do not have to pay again.
Backup your iPhoto library, if you do not have a current backup.
Uninstall iPhoto by deleting it from the Applications folder, otherwise you cannot buy it again. But do not empty the Trash, so you can put iPhoto back, if need be.
Launch the App Store, click the "Store" menu, and sign in with your current AppleID.
Open the main page "Featured" of the App Store and search for iPhoto.
If iPhoto is listed as "Free", click the "Free" button to buy it with your current AppleID.
If it is not showing as free, there is no help but contacting the App Store Support to sort out the AppleID. Use this link: http://www.apple.com/support/mac/app-store/contact/
After you update iPhoto, your iPhoto Library will need upgrading. Make a backup of your iPhoto Library, before you open iPhoto the first time after updating. -
I am trying to put itunes back in computer again. An error comes up "old version of bonjour can not be removed. How do you remove this to download itunes. Can not remove itunes from remove programs. What can I do now?
(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -
When trying to open iphoto I get the error message "You can't open the application iPhoto because it may be damaged or incomplete." How do I fix this and get my photo's back?
To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store you can find it in your Purchases List. -
Putting images back into iPhoto 4.0.3 - why so many?
Hi
A while ago made some back-up DVDs of images - 2004, 2005 and so on - using iP to do so. Then we removed all but 2007's pics from iP to make more room, although by your standards we had hardly anything in the library (at the time an iMovie project was seriously hogging all the spare space!)
Couple of problems yesterday while trying to put the "iPhoto Library" disc for 2004 back into iP:
1. the disc wasn't recognised, kept self-ejecting after 20 secs or so, took several loading attempts for it to show up in Finder and then in iP's list - any ideas why? (talk about heart-stopping!)
2. I used File, Import command from within iP to see the disc in Finder, and selected the disc to import All.
Was that the wrong thing to do?
It took ages - I guess more than an hour? - and now the library has swollen by 2300 images, instead of just 1200. There was also an alert at the end of the import saying that 999 items could not be imported (sorry, didn't take note of the exact wording).
So - what should I have done? Can I delete the whole import and start again safely? (I'll have to select the images first as it's not a film roll or album all on its own.)
I would like to find a small number of images to email and/or print at home, then I'd like to export the whole year onto a windows-compatible disc (using Finder to burn), as we forgot to do that before removing the images the first time. I had expected the newly loaded collection would be seperate from the rest of the library, so now I will have to re-create a new album first won't I? - what a pain.
Sorry to sound so daft, I did look in iPhoto Help but the only tip I could see there to import "other than from a camera" was to do what I did.
cheers
RebeccaThanks Brie Fly
When the DVD was eventually read, it did come up in iPhoto's album list on the side. However, the only option listed in File was to import. Export was grey. I tried to drag the whole collection (after command-A) into the album list but nothing happened. I think it 'bounced back', from memory.
I previously had viewed another iPhoto Library disc (for 2006), and dragged about 3 or 4 images across (individually) to the album list; they were 'imported' and dropped into a new folder that iP created for the first one.
I guess that I could do the same again when I find the ones I need off the 2004 disc. But what should I do to export all the images from this year, as one whole, in order to back-up to another disc? I want to do this so it can be used on windows or by the printing company.
BTW the extra images and film rolls appear to be thumbnails. Each 'original roll' has another roll following titled 'thumbs'.
Thanks -
I was transfering photos from an external hard disk. While doing this somehow or another I created another library. I have an additional icon on my desktop. I tried to put it in the trash but then it deletes iphoto from the computer. I just would like to get rid of the icon without deleting iphoto.
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
If you've copied your iPhoto library to an external disk, it's normal that it appears. Anyway, open iPhoto holding Option key and look at the library you want to delete. At the bottom of the window, you must see the directory where it's, so just go here and delete your library -
Hi,I'm trying to put all the songs from my ipod classic onto an external hard drive, but it is only putting purchases from itunes onto hard drive and not any of my old cd's that I put onto the ipod manually.Am I doing something wrong? Thanks.
Since it has always been very basic to backup your computer and all it's data, Apple provides no way for you to transfer music from your iPhone back to your computer. As you know, you can re-download all iTunes purchases, but music that you ripped yourself you'll have to just re-rip again.
You can try and find 3rd party applications that might help you. I'm sure you'll pay, however.
Let this be a very important lesson learned.

My ipod nano 5th gen. won't play movies or tv shows but it plays them on itunes. When I click on it the screen flashes black. I have tried taking the videos off my ipod and then putting them back on but it still won't work. what should i do?
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
