Trying to Re-install, HELP HELP PLEASE HELP
I am growing incredibly frustrated with my machine. In all honesty, I have had it! It won't log and capture, it keeps shutting down and has no sound. Everytime I ask for help I get some great information that is so wrapped up in jargon that I don't know what to do. I re-installed Tiger and then tried to re-install FCP HD, but as I enter in the serial numbers the "continue" button won't highlight itself so I can't click it to go on and I am stuck.
What I need is the procedure for wiping a mac, 2 internal hard drives and an external drive. DO I just drag the items in two of the drives into the trash and then with the third drive (internal) just re-install OS X Tiger again and when I do can I just re-install FCP. I just installed Tiger, but now I-life is gone. I just don't know what to do at this point. I am entering this into the discussion for someone to please offer me help but most of all please explain it in a way I can understand. I am an amatuer who is really ready to give up and throw the **** machine out the window.

What I need is the procedure for wiping a mac, 2 internal hard drives and an external drive
first step BACK UP ALL YOUR IMPORTANT DATA
next, in the Finder, select Go menu > Utilities
launch the Disk Utility application and then, in the left hand pane, select each disc/volume in turn and:
choose the erase tab in the right hand pane and click the Erase button
you won't be able to erase your startup disc but you can erase all the others.
next, put in your Tiger install disc and reinstall the OS to your main hard disc ... after you choose the target hard disc to install to, press the Options button, and choose "Erase and Install"
when you have finished reinstalling the OS, you can then reinstall Final Cut Studio.
ok ... those are the plain vanilla instructions on "how to", but if you want my "advice" then I think you should hire someone who knows what they are doing to a) do it all for you, and b) to teach you as they do it

ERROR trying to re-install iTunes 7-PLEASE HELP!!!
I have been trying to upgrade to iTunes 7.4 for the past week or so. Every time I have tried i get the below error message.
*"C:Documents and settings\owner\local settings\temporary internet files\content.IE5\Y7XOUHYM\iTunesSetup[1].exe is not a valid Win32 application"*
I followed the troubleshooting advice about removing all components of iTunes and Quicktime and re-installing it, but I can't get it to re-install.
Now i have no iTunes at all.

Before anyone says anything-yes I have posted this on the iTunes install and upgrade forum. I'm just trying to spread the topic to different forums for a better chance of getting a response.

Because it's cached, even if you've deleted all your iTunes files, but left that file in Temporary Internet Files, when you try to download the new iTunes, it will look at that file first to save the download progress.
Delete that file, and try to download the file again. Matter of fact, delete all of your Temporary Internet Files content and try.

arg, this is so frustrating, as I'm considering BUYING or subscribing to photoshop, yet I cannot get it to work!
I'm having trouble with the instructions, as I cannot locate the file they are asking me to locate:
Rename the opm.db file.
Close the Creative Cloud application if it's running.
Navigate to the OOBE folder.
Windows: [System drive]:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE
Mac OS: /User/<username>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE folder
Rename the opm.db file to opm_old.db
Launch Creative Cloud
I am using WIndows 8, and getting extremely frustrated. I have already 1) removed all adobe stuff with the cleaner. 2) renamed my user account on my desktop (which was in your requested forums), 3) rebooted and reinstalled creative cloud, and it's still blank...
Can someone help me DEEPER as I'm a potential customer for life?

I have the Windows Installer Clean-Up screen up and tried to upload a screen cap for you, but IE immediately shuts down every time I try. So I'll have to transcribe the screen for you:

Those are the top two lines. The following lines after that are programs he has installed on the machine like Acrobat, Adobe, Autodesk Inventor, and such and they all have a name and program number in brackets.
And I now again have the obligatory Apple programs installed and listed again:
(All Users) Apple Application Support [1.5.1]
(All Users) Apple Mobile Device Support [3.4.0.25]
(All Users) Apple Software Update [2.1.2.120]
(All Users) Bonjour [2.0.5.0]
Please note that iTunes is NOT LISTED.
Everything else 'appears' to be normal, I'd say.

Trying to re-install iTunes and the message "Apple mobile device failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services." But I don't know what to do? Please can someone help, I'm not the most technologically advanced person.
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

ok here goes nothing i have a late 2009 iMac 27 11.1 intel bought it refurbished and they installed mountain lion 10.8.4 on delivery w/o disks i think ran lion orig. idk & its been all problems 10.8.5 M.L so tried Maverick 10.9 now worse please help me.....i still have backups of software for mountain lion 10.8 however i need to throw everything on a usb toshiba 1TB external storage for backup, plus from what ive read being i needed to try to go back and update the efi and frimware for my original model but when i found the right one it wont accept it.....and now i just tried to reinstall my mountain lion probably shoud have left in the cloud til i got backed up ...which i now needed to move my previous backed up stuff off the drive to reformat it properly as i read it being toshiba needs to be guid hard drive mac im relatively new to the whole mac thing and im just as ****** off as i was with PC ....lol i just wanna record music and have a steady workflow i do have a new 4s iphone and cloud storage but i believe my computers hacked or got malware or just ****** from incompatiable software ......and keychains not working for admin either PLEASE tell ,me what to do thx .....i will be so grateful im good with recording software and stuff bad with computers programing lol HELP me

I have been having this problem since the 4th of this month. I tried to open iTunes and this error message came up: "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes error 7 windows error 126". There is nothing else that comes up but if anyone can help or know anything about it I will greatly appreciate it.

I have spent the better part of the week downloading & getting no where. I've spent 10/21, 10/22 & 10/27 trying to get Chat help to no avail. I have at least 1 case number # 0186024139 but no one to give it to.
10/19 I first did the download with Akamai, it took hours, then "Installer failed to initialize. Download support adviser”. When I click & go to the page it said the support adviser is no longer available!
10/20/14 I did as I was told & went to the download trial http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=photoshop_elements&loc=en&promoid=DJDV B, left the computer on all night downloading the Elements bundle, using the older installer, only to discover once again the "Installer failed message" and I already know that the support adviser is no longer available!

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps to install Firefox.
You may need to re-download a new Firefox copy.

You can not install anything but the current version of iOS. If you have a 3Gs, then you can install 6.0.1 by plugging it into your computer running iTunes (10.7 or higher). If you have a 3G, 4.2.1 is the end of the line.
