trying to read and see my back uped pictures on iPhone 3GS but it only comes up as "document". I like to save them as jpg and be able to print them, how can I do that on my MacBook Pro? Thanks
I did that, they all show up with that number code and as documents. Can only view them by clicking "space" but not open them in Photoshop etc. I would like to save them as jpg for print etc.

After you Restore from backup, sync the iPhone.

Try these two ways to fix the iPhone (in order). If neither works, you would have to take it to the store.
1. Reset the iPhone. Hold the on/off and home buttons togehter for about 10 seconds. If it works, you'll get the Apple logo and then something good should happen.
2. Try recovery mode as described here:

If one of these work, you can then re-introduce the iPhone to Find My iPhone by doing Settings > iCloud > Find My iPhone = "On" on the device. -
I have an iPhone 3GS that I dropped in water for a moment. After drying it and everything, it still does everything but get service. Can I back it up and transfer its data to a new iPhone 3GS? I heard something about how loading a backup from a water damaged phone could mess up the new one... is this true? I would truly appreciate the help, please let me know, thanks!
Sounds like your phone is in recovery mode. In this case, all data on it is gone. There's nothing to back up.

You can view attachments in both portrait and landscape orientation. If the format of an attached file isn’t supported by iPhone, you can see the name of the file but you can’t open it. iPhone supports the following email attachment file formats: .doc, .docx, .htm, .html, .pdf, .txt, .xls, .xlsx
At this time, there is no way to edit documents on the iPhone.

I am using IDVD to create slide shows. When viewed on my computer, the pictures are clear and of high quality. When I burn the slide show to a disk and play it back, the pictures are blury and of poor quality. Is there a setting that controls the quality of the burn and if there is, where do I find it? The Mac software - iPhoto, iMovie, and iDVD are not the best with the Ken Burns effect (zoom in/out effect), so you might want to minimize that effect; also, if your subjects are wearing stripes for instance, that will have an effect if you zoom. There is better software available for slideshows; however, I do not know of any that is free (and does a good job). I've used Photo to Movie for some time; it does a fine job even in HD, but you have to pay for it. I use iDVD extensively, but only to add a menu, theme, special effects, etc. and then to burn it.

Backup do not contain apps (or any media). As far as your contacts go, Apple isn't crystal clear on this ... they seem to indicate that only your Favorites and recent call history is backed up, not your entire set of contacts. To play it safe, backup or transfer your contacts to your computer in case they do not come back after re-loading your backup. There are apps available that can export/import contacts for you.

First, make sure that the apps that you depend on are Intel-compatible and not PPC only Take a stroll over to Roaring Apps and make sure that you check all of the applications that you use on a regular basis.
You might want to just upgrade to Snow Leopard if it looks as if you've a number of PPC apps - going the Mountain Lion route may be very expensive for you otherwise.

I have the NI Ethernet/IP module to communicate with an Allen-Bradley ControlLogix PLC. I am doing both reading (only 13 values) and writing (over 200 values). I am using the basic ethernetip tag write.vi to do the writing. These program are in an executable running on a 'run-time' machine. I have the list of tagnames I am reading and writing to and have confirmed with the person who created the AB load that the array I am writing to on the AB side has more than enough addresses (it is an array of length 300). However I am only able to write 118 values to it. When trying to write 119 or more I get the error:

I have confirmed with NI OPC Servers with an OPC quick client (running on my development PC) connected to the AB ControlLogix that the values I am writing to up to element 118 are getting through correctly, i.e. if I write 123.456 to sample_array[13] then I in fact see this same value at that location in the OPC quick client.
To be honest I am a little disappointed that the error message is so cryptic and gives no hints as to what troubleshooting paths are possible. I have tried various combinations of group/tag names with and w/o offsets, e.g. [3], but nothing has led me any further.Thanks for the quick response - here are screenshots of before (write OK - writing 118 values - all except last are 0) and after (error - when trying to write an array of length 119) as well as the simple test program I as using.

Alerts for text and messages are gone now after update. iphone 3gs
My iphone 3gs has stopped all alert sounds except alarms.I have tried turning them all off and turning phone off and going back in and resetting the sounds. but nothing. does anyone have an idea. and oh yes the volume is on high.

That is accomplished by holding the sleep and home buttons down together until you see the Apple logo, then release. This resets the phone and does not affect your data in any way. If this is not successful, the next step is a restore. This step can affect your data, so you need to ensure you have everything saved. Contact and calendar data is synced to a supported application on the computer, photos are all imported to the computer and music and apps purchases are all synced to iTunes. The restore is done with iTunes, first attempt is a restore from a backup, the next is to restore as a new phone. The restore as a new phone will delete all photos in the camera roll, all saved SMS messages and will delete any saved app data.
