Trying to recover an old PC error code...

Hello everyone. I am kinda a novice at this stuff but here is my problem. Friends 07 HP pavilion A6228x with win. vista home premium. He gave it to me to see if i could fix. windows would not boot up so i did a system recovery from the PC as i did not have the recovery disks for it. after doing that it still would not boot up so i ordered the recovery disks from HP to do it that's once. I got the disks in and ran as prompted . I thought it was odd that it started with disk 1 then went to supplement disk then back to disk 1 (for only 10sec.) i would think this would be where it would start making progress but it then asks for supplement disk again then seems to be running for about 15min then error code comes up Error 0x4001100200001005. all the time no progress is noted. I would assume all the progress would come from disk 1 not the supplement disk. i tried this 4 times to no avail. Now i can only do F10 or F11 at start up (sorry at work and doing this from memory) and not F8 or the others like before. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello schroedel2003, This seems to be a common issue. Here is a link that has some information on the issue.
One Member suggest he has resolved his issue by making a change in the BIOS.

I suspect this phone was "hacked" to unlock it so it could be used where you live. That's why you're getting the 1015 error. iTunes has detected a mismatch between your baseband and iOS, thus preventing your phone from being restored and generating that error code. Use Google for instructions on how to fix error 1015, as support for hacked iPhones cannot be provided here, per this forum's terms of use.

HELP! InDesign corrupting old files ERROR CODE 5

I have had Indesign for over a year and used with no problems until about a month ago. I created a flyer, saved and closed it and when i went to reopen it i got the error message saying: the file [filename].indd is damaged and cannot be recovered (Error code 5). I was frustrated because i had to redo it, but what is even more frustrating is that it seems like this is happening to EVERY file i open and close (old or new) which means I have lost a lot of large files (books in fact) because of some problem with indesign. I desperately need help to fix this. I work on w windows 8 computer using indesign cs6.

Would the font have to be used in the document that was opened? Do you know how i find a corrupt font?

Actually my iTunes just started!!!!
So if anyone else is having this problem, the last thing I tried was copying the QTMovieWin.dll from my C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support folder to my C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes folder and started my iTunes Helper.exe

Although it's a better bet with a 2330 than a 2349, I'd try running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.

Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

Have a first generation ipod touch, trying to download ios 3 to computer getting error code 8288, please help.

I finally solved this on my own. I installed iTunes 9.2 on my Mac. You can get it from here:

Then I went to the iOS 3 purchase page here:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2052
and clicked the Purchasing link. It opens up iTunes. I connected my iPod touch G1 and did a check for system update. Miraculously, it found it this time and downloaded the update.
No guarantee that this'll work for you, but I'm finally able to use my iPod touch again and put on some useful apps.

I also got this message last night, after already updating an app earlier in the day with no problem. I went to download a new app, and also had an app that needed to be updated. Attempting either of those resulted in the error code 1004.
I have an iPhone 4, running 4.3.5. It is not jailbroken, nor has my laptop been used to do such a thing. I'm not even entirely certain what jailbreaking is, nor do I care. Aside from installing apps, my phone is exactly as it was given to me by Apple 10 months ago.
I have tried resetting, logging out and back in to the Apple store from both my laptop and my phone, rebooting, checked all of those seemingly unrelated settings like my date/time settings (WTH?), turned off wifi, and a couple of other things I can't even remember. Nothing worked.
Does anyone have another suggestion?

Safari crashes or hangs requiring unplugging power to my iMac desktop running OS 10.8.2. This doesn't happen with FireFox. Also while trying to recover my old files using Carbonite I get messages saying there is no space on my startup disk 1 TB?

After replacing my burnt out original hard drive in my iMac 24 inch desk top computer with 1 TB hard drive I've had repeated problems with Safari hanging/not responding. This has frozen my computer and required me to unplug the power cord and restart. It doesn't happen with FireFox. In addition, while trying to restore from Carbonite I've had it hang five or six times never completing the restore. When the technician replaced the hard drive he installed OC 10.8.2. When restoring I get repeated messages that there isn't enough room on my startup disk to continue the restore. This obviously isn't the case because I have far more storage space with a 1 TB hard drive. Any ideas what is going on and how I can prevent these two problems from continuing? Thanks.

You've got an incompatible Logitech driver and java was incompletely uninstalled.
You may have a problem with the Wacom driver.
I don't know if fixing those things will help.
There also a few window server errors, but I don't know if they are causal.
If you can note the time of the hangs, that might help narrow it down in the logs.
