Trying to reinstall CS5 for MAC but serial number will not work?

Hello,
I've lost my original installation CD, but I have my serial number. My computer crashed, so I lost everything and I tried downloading the trial version so I could enter my serial number onto it when the trial is over, but it will not accept my serial number?
What can I do?
On my Adobe Profile, it shows the serial number and when it was registered.

               First, the answer depends on the exact error that you get.
               1. If the error is "invalid serial number", then you must be using the wrong installation media or Operating System. This is the main reason.
               2. If the error is " serial number is valid however it's previous qualifying serial number is not found ", the serial number you have is an upgrade serial number, which will require it's previous qualifying serial number which you need to have, previous qualifying versions supported are CS4, CS3 and CS2.
               For further easy solution, I would suggest you contact adobe customer support.

I am getting a bit concerned about what is happening in your situation. Yesterday you posted your question in at least two different forums, one of them being here in the Premiere Elements Forum.

Wherever you posted, the reply was to contact Adobe via its Adobe Chat. It is the only one who can sort out this matter for you.
In the thread cited above I offered to help you with the difficulties that you were having visualizing the Adobe Chat in its web page. I was waiting for your follow up on that in the above thread. Instead, I find your same question in a new Adobe Premiere Elements Forum thread this afternoon with no refer the prior threads or prior recommendations given you.
I will also mention again...when you buy the Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements bundled in one packaging and with installation files for each on the same installation disc, each program has its own serial number. The Photoshop Elements serial number does not work for Premiere Elements and vice versa. The serial numbers are on labels on a box which houses the installation disc envelope(s). So, if you purchased both programs and found the Photoshop Elements serial number, then the Premiere Elements serial number should be in a label right underneath the label with the serial number for Photoshop Elements. I recall writing this in your yesterday's thread on this matter.
The moderator will no doubt be along shortly to close or delete this thread. So, just in case, please bookmark your yesterday's thread cited above so that we can continue this communication which is trying to help you.

My serial number will not work because it is letters and numbers but I can't type letters into the boxes on the Adobe installer.
I've tried holding shift, putting caps lock on, and leaving it lower case. It just won't let me type letters into the boxes. Is there a work around or some other solution?

Trying to install PS4 on new MacBook Pro. I have already installed PS 3 extended. When PS4 asked for my PS3 serial number will not accept # on back of my PS3 case?

I have PS3 and PS4 installed on Mac 27", but when I try to install PS4 on my new MacBook Pro will not accept Serial # on my PS3 Extended case. Even though I have PS3 Extended installed!! Tried Serial # with and without dash, but neither works. Had both installed also on my MacBook Air OK but I wiped intend installed new OS. Not clear why PS4 not accept PS3 Serial # despite the fact that PS3 Extended already installed with the correct Serial #.

Photoshop 3 and Photoshop 4 for the Mac were released in the 1990s before Mac OSX and will only run natively on the Classic Mac OS (OS 9.x or older). They may run under emulation in "Classic Mode" on a PPC Mac up until OSX 10.4. They will not run on any Mac with an Intel processor nor with OSX 10.5 or newer. Same with Photoshop 5 and Photoshop 6.
Photoshop 7 came with both Classic and OSX versions, but will only run on a PPC-based Mac, or an Intel Mac up to OSX 10.6.x with the Rosetta emulator
Now, to clarify the naming of versions;
Photoshop CS = "Photoshop 8.x"
Photoshop CS2 = "Photoshop 9.x"
PS CS and CS2 came as OSX versions only and will only run on a PPC-based Mac, or an Intel Mac up to OSX 10.6.x with the Rosetta emulator
Photoshop CS3 = "Photoshop 10.x"
Photoshop CS4 = "Photoshop 11.x"
PS CS3 and CS3 came as OSX versions but run on either a PPC-based Mac up to OSX10.6.x with the Rosetta emulator or an Intel-based Mac, at least up to Mountain Lion OSX 10.8.x (the latest I have tried personally)
As for upgrades, you can go back about (3) revisions to use the old SN for an install; e.g. a PS 7 SN can be upgraded to PS CS3 (10.x) but not to PS CS4 (11.x). So, there is no way PS 3 could be upgraded directly to PS CS4 (11.x)

Serial number will not work for Lightroom 5.

I have legit CC serial number but it fails when I enter the last number. Version of LR I have is a trial version. I cannot download new version as the apps section fails when I try to run the pulldown Mac OS window. It says to contact customer service. You go to chat, they are hopeless. All my other CC apps run fine on this computer and LR runs on my other computer. What do I do next? How do I talk with someone who know the problem?

I don't know what the point of that answer is but it is false. You don't need to enter your CC serial number into the downloaded version. The downloaded version cooresponds to the perpetual license version. What I would do is uninstall the trial and then see if LR is available from the Adobe Creative Cloud app. If it is not then log off from inside the Adobe Creative Cloud app, restart your computer and then log in inside the Adobe Creative Cloud app. Hopefully Lightroom will then be available.

Yes Atr12 this is often due to purchasing an expiring serial number. I checked and it does appear you have been provided an expiring serial number. These are sometimes offered by resellers at a discounted rate. If you believe that you received an expiring serial number in error then I would recommend contacting the reseller which you purchased CS6 Design and Web Premium from.
It does still appear the serial number should be valid. I would recommend running the uninstallers located in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder. I would then follow this by using the CC Cleaner Tool to ensure a complete removal. It is likely the licensing files are unable to be updated or are damaged thus the serial number is being seen as invalid.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the new iTunes but it still will not work. I keep getting the error mesage relating to MSVCR80.dll, the installation error 7 (windows error 126). I have tried moving and removing the dll files including the QTMovie dll

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes 15 times regarding the latest release and still get the MSVCR80.dll and Error 7 (Windows error 126) messages.

Dear avid iTunes users - I have cracked it!!!
The response from Apple/iTunes was extremely poor and did not solve the problem.
I have a look in msconfig and observed which applications/services were running - one of which was the 'Apple Application Support'
So ... I had a look at what was in this folder and found the APS Daemon.exe file causing all the trouble.
So ... I simply deleted the Apple folder found in C:\program files\common files\.
I did a restart and did not get the MSCVCR80.dll or Error 7 (windows 126) error messages.
I reinstalled the current version of iTunes (for the 16th time!)

IT WORKED :-O Woooohooo!!!
So ... to all those smarty-pants boffin-brianiacs out there (apple/iTunes): this is how you do it!!!!!!!!!!
YOU DO NOT NEED TO UNINSTALL ALL THE APPLE/QUICKTIME OR RELATED PROGRAMS - JUST DELETE THE APPLE FOLDER IN THE C:\PROGRAM FILES DIRECTORY.

As I said, I really do not want to change my email address because it is my work email.
I am a freelance professional and all my clients have been using this mac address for over ten years.
New clients arrive all the time through word of mouth, i.e. old clients who pass on my emial address to people who also need my services. Unfortunately a lot of business works this way, so I would lose lots of clients if I changed my email address. But I guess Apple doesn't know, or doesn't care, about how business works for other people (as long as they're making loads of money from products made by suicidal, slave-driven Chinese workers).
Why are Apple saying you can use iCloud on a PC when this is clearly not the case?
Why didn't they warn me that from one day to the next, the email address I've been using for a decade wouldn't work anymore? I've already lost so many work hours trying to sort this out.
I don't want an iPhone as my new HTC has a better CPU, a larger, higher-resolution screen, more memory, more powerful antennas, a better camera, it's lighter, etc., etc,; iPads are over-priced and more or less useless for my needs; and I already have three laptops and two desktops so I'm not buying an iBook o iMac just for the sake of it.
And with this attitude of Apple's, I'm hardly enthusiastic about buying anything from them anyway. So much for customer care. I feel abandoned and vaguely blackmailed by Apple.

I bought my photoshop elements 11 a few days ago through amazon. My pc does not have an enter to a dvd (what is normal in nowadays), so I decided to download the software through adobe website and use the serial number that comes with my new photoshop elements, but it doesn't work. What can I do now? I can´t return my product and I bought a serial number. Can I use the serial number with a photoshop elements 11 that I downloaded?

If you downloaded the product since 24th September it will have been v12 - and your v11 serial number will not work with it.
It is possible that as you purchased within the last thirty days you may be eligible for a free upgrade to v12. Either way contact Adobe support and see what they say - if not eligible they may point you to a v11 download.
