Trying to replicate google street view?

hi all,
im a student at MMU currently on a Foundation Degree course.
i am wondering if there is a way to replicate google street view with our own images in a project we are doing based around the MMU itself?
thanks for your time in replying, i am personally using CS5 and the college uses CS4 (CS5 is back compatible with CS4 anyways)
thanks,
Will

Yes. You can use Google Map API for custom Street View.
http://code.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/javascript/services.html#CustomStreetView
By the way this is not Flash but JavaScript - Google has officially terminated the API for Flash

Trying to use Google Street View in Safari is crashing in the new iPad. Here's a link for reference: http://maps.google.com/help/maps/streetview/mobile/gallery.html#!/id=258
The same thing works fine in iPad 2. Has anyone faced similar problems? Is there something I can do to fix this issue?

  • New prompt to upgrade Live Street View which I recently downloaded to replace Google Street View lost with my IOS6. There's 35 pages of TOA. has anyone tried the upgrade

Recently downloaded Live Street View to replace Google Street View lost in IOS6 "upgrade." It's OK, but images are 3" & don't zoom. Today I received a prompt to upgrade Live Street View, but it is preceded by 35 pages of TOA from Apple. I'm suspicious of trusting Apple (again) and agreeing to their terms. Current version of Live Street View isn't ideal, but its still better than what I was left with pre-IOS6. Has anyone done recent upgrade to Live Street View and is it any better than before?

I suspect you have the debug version of Flash Player installed.  Can you visit this page to verify that debug = yes?

google street view not working on firefox 14.0.1 - after moving the person to the map it goes blank. Have tried the fixes in the community support. Still works fine in IE

Do you have Flash installed? You need a different version of it for Firefox. The plugin for IE will not work with Firefox. You can get it here:

  • Google street view doesn't work in Firefox 20

    Hi there,
I'm a great fan of Firefox, but I'm having this issue with the Google Street View.
My Street View works in Chrome, Safari but not in Firefox (PC or Mac).
Do you have any idea about that? I have already disable the Addons and Plugins but still no results.
I will really appreciate your answer.
    Thanks,
    Nuno Francisco

If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains.
*Check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in "??tp > Permissions"
*Check that images are enabled: ??to > Content: [X] Load images automatically
*Check the exceptions in "??to > Content: Load Images > Exceptions"
*Check the "??tp > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images with the cursor Down key).
If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.
Make sure that you do not block third-party images, the permissions.default.image pref should be 1.
There are also extensions like Adblock Plus (??ta > Extensions) and security software (firewall, anti-virus) that can block images and other content.

You cannot downgrade the iOS, there is no supported method.
Google streetview was not lost, Google Maps were removed from iOS6 and replaced with Apple Maps.

  • Cursor won't show in text fields, Google Street View mouseup not working

My wife and I have nearly identical computers and update Firefox whenever a new version comes out.
Lately, only on her computer, when she clicks into the address bar or into a text field, the cursor sometimes does not appear. In some other text fields it does appear. In the address bar, whenever you click in it and then type, there is no cursor, and the entire address bar is always overwritten.
In Google Street View (I think it uses the Flash player), she can start dragging, but then the mouse "won't let go" - it is as if the mouse up command is ignored. I have to drag the mouse outside the picture area and then back in, or the dragging will continue.

  • Cannot move Google Street View screen

Firefox 3.6.24 will not allow me to move around in Google Street View. I cannot pan around from a fixed position as before. It works on my iPad2
    Mac OS X 10.6

Streetview probably works for most people.
Try using Internet Explorer IE does it work ?
If it works in IE but not Firefox it could be a Firefox or FlashPlayer issue.
    * As a workaround try the Streetview Lite Version https://support.google.com/maps/answer/3032024

** If you do find a forum thread where this problem is reported on Firefox 36 but not on IE maybe you could provide the link.
If it is Firefox only we may need to file a bug. If other people see this problem.
Try this test please (other readers of the thread please also try this)

  • Google Street View & Retina Display

I've noticed that on the 13-inch MBP with Retina display, when viewed at the "best" resolution, Google Street View's images will appear blurred; this doesn't occur on the 15-inch MPB with Retina. Is there any way around this? Or is it just a matter of the 1280x800 resolution? It seems like the Retina display would be capable of displaying the images with more clarity, and yet it doesn't happen.

  • Unable to use navigation tools in Google street view

All of a sudden I have found that when using google maps, I cannot use the navigation tools in street view, other than double clicking which zooms into the picture. Also when in map mode and zooming in, it does not zoom smoothly - rather a shudder and simultaneous zoom. I have tested this out in Google Chrome and Firefox and maps work just fine.
I have repaired permissions, reset Safari, reinstalled Safari, reinstalled Flash, and even deleted the arial fonts (which I read fixes a similar problem), but nothing works.
The only thing that I can think of is that I downloaded another version of Safari so I could test out the tabs at the top of the window. However since the I have deleted that version and reinstalled Safari (v 4.0.4)
Any suggestions as to what I could try next, without having to reinstall 10.6??

That toolbar/ct plugin seems to cause problems for all who install it!
Locate and delete the following files and it should be gone:
    /Library/Application Support/Conduit
    /Library/InputManagers/CTLoader
    /Library/Receipts/ctloader.pkg
    /Library/Receipts/<Toolbar name>.pkg
    /Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/CT2285220.bundle
    /Users/<User name>/Library/Application Support/Conduit
where / is your the root library on your Hard Disk.

  • Adobe Flash Player 10 - Google Street View

I have a Sony Vaio Laptop 64-bit system running Windows 7 and Internet Explorere 8. Anti-virus software AVG.  Installed Flash Player 10 as instructed but still unable to open Street View without getting the same Adobe message. I have a Toshiba Satellite Laptop 32-bit system running same software as above and Street View works just fine. I suspect it has something to do with my 64-bit operating system. Thanks in advance for any support in resolving this nuisance problem.

    I've been using this. Give it a look;
    '''[https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/multirow-bookmarks-toolbarplus/ Multirow Bookmarks Toolbar Plus]''' {web link}
Display your Bookmarks Toolbar in more than one row!
Be smart about hiding text and only showing favicons,
displaying website info as tooltips. Auto hide the Bookmarks Toolbar.
