There was some updayts for my iPad 4 automatically downloaded. After installing it, the iPad began to restart itself every few minutes.
I tryed to update my iPad using iTunes. After connecting to MacBook Pro, where is installed all latest software, iPad is recognised as "iPad", Serial Number: n/a. iTunes run recovery mode, trying to restore iPad firmware, and in the end unknown error occured (3). Tried many times, not results. And now iPad stays only in recovery mode, can't switch it off. How can I solve this problem please?When I restart my iPad the connect to iTunes comes up and stays on until it shuts down again, I have read a report from Apple support suggesting I reinstall iTunes so I might try that again and also your suggestion which i shall also try, but thanks again - rg1547

I have attempted to update ipad1 with latest update but after extracting software it goes to restoring ipad software and stops at 25% on the bar. Have tried several times but it does the same, I now have one usless ipad help! any ideas ?

I have tried to restore my iphone as it just turned itself off and now won't restart. So I tried to restore via itunes on the computer. It could not restore my phone due to an unknown error occurring (3194), please could someone let me know what I should do now?

If it is done and just froze, then Reset, hold both Home and Power buttons until the iPhone begins to restart. Usually takes about 10 seconds of holding both buttons.
If still a problem. Then Restore again. I would reboot computer. Then open iTunes on computer. Then connect iPhone to computer. Then hold both Home and Power buttons until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode. Usually takes about 20 seconds time of holding both buttons. Then Restore the Firmware. -

Are you using a valid Apple charger that came with the iPad?
Attempting to use a computer USB port, an incompatible charger, or attempting to charge via a wall socket that only receives power from a wall switch — can all lead to a low, or depleted battery condition. Has this iPad been wet, or dropped?
Verify all of the above, and correct. If the iPad still cannot hold a charge, consider taking to an Apple Store, or authorized service provider to evaluate it. -

I have tried 4x restoring my itouch5 to manufacture settings I have not succeeded. What should I do?
I tried to restore my itouch5 and it said that there was an error of some kind. It says that my ipod software is up to date and below it it says restore ipod. I have tried countless times to restore it but with no success. I have turned off my ipod, unplugged it but nothing works. Here is the info I found on error 3194:
Error 1004, 1013, 1638, 3014, 3194: These errors may be the result of the connection to gs.apple.com being redirected or blocked. Follow these steps to resolve these errors:
Install the latest version of iTunes.
Check security software and ensure that communication to gs.apple.com is allowed. Follow these stepsfor assistance with security software.
Check the hosts file. The restore will fail if there is an active entry to redirect gs.apple.com. Follow theadvanced iTunes Store troubleshooting steps to edit the hosts file or revert to a default hosts file. See "Blocked by configuration: (Mac OS X/Windows) > Rebuild network information."
Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.
If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.

Ipad has been backed up for update but seems to be stuck in restoring ipad software
hi can anyone help doing update on ipad as havent had a lap top for quite a while it was well in need of an update it has done its back up but has now been stuck in restoring ipad software for at least 3 hours do i leave it or what can i do :? please help
What do you see on the screen?
You could try a forced restart - simultaneously hold down the power and home buttons until the screen turns black and you see the Apple icon -
My iPad 2 home button has stopped working all together, I have tried the swivel from landscape to portrait whilst holding the home button, I've tried pressing the off switch then pressing the home button, the other thing I was advised to do was create a home button in the settings under the accessibility option but I don't have the option I was advised to use under there! Help! It's really frustrating having to turn the device off everytim I want to switch apps and I really can't afford to send it away to be mended! Many thanks in advance
The accessibilty setting that was mentioned is:
* Enable AssistiveTouch
Enable AssistiveTouch which floats a virtual button on-screen which can mimic all hardware buttons on the device:
Settings>General>Accessibility>AssistiveTouch: turn ON
*Note* If you power off the device using the AssistiveTouch panel (tap the on-screen AssistiveTouch button, Device>Lock Screen (tap and hold to power off)), you will NOT be able to power on the device *if your Sleep/Wake (power) button is not functioning*. You will need to connect the powered off device either to a PC's USB port or an external charger to power the device back on. -
My ipad has latest iTunes (11.1) but iTunes on my computer (mac 10.5.8) is now no longer compatible with ipad software and cannot sync. The same error message appears saying my computer needs to update software, but my mac has the latest software available (albeit rather old). Can I undo the software update on ipad??? Thanks
